BANG! changed his username, made his profile private and kinda disappeared. Not sure what happened, apparently he's mad that Valve didn't put him in the providers list and he broke TFMV on purpose. You need to use an older version, it's explained here. It should be added in the OP of Emporium but it's fucking dead since everyone moved to Discord. Garry's permabans on newpunch didn't help.
That's why the Emp is dead? I was worried it slowed down because the creative side of the community is dying. Although I'm glad it's still alive, just moved off to Discord, it's still a little depressing that one of the main reasons I visit Facepunch is basically gone now.
Facepunch changed a lot since Newpunch came about. One of the big reasons was the mass shitposting and ensuing permabans (because killing half of your userbase is always a good idea).
are you implying otherwise https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/1891/bd56d413-2108-4578-ae59-37b224f026ac/image.png
Been there, done that.
the shitposters asked for it. and they got it in return. nothing of value was lost.
If we really want to start this discussion: The shitposters did something goofy and stupid. There's no argument about that. Now, whether somebody considers what they did a heinous act, or just a bunch of idiots making dumb threads (some of which are still up and were only deleted at random, same with the permabans) is up to personal opinion. They were also banned without warning, only shortly after being informed that the deletion of the megathreads (which were incredibly popular and still relevant, namely this thread) wasn't going to happen. There was no true warning. The mass shitposting happened, mods got angry and made the post, then a mass purging occured. Why wasn't there a warning or shorter ban issued to the users? Why ban them over posting dumb threads (the majority of which weren't even in this subforum)? Why ban so many TF2-subforum-only users when the worst their threads amounted to were a megathread about Engineer's baldness? There are a lot of variables that come into consideration when talking about this mass purging. At the end of the day, an incredibly stupid rule of "if you screw up once, you're permabanned" is going to deter new users a LOT more than a night of debauchery in the form of multiple threads for discussing the various characters in TF2 (again, only some of which were actually deleted). And just so we're clear, the permaban punishment is a lot less impactful if it's incredibly easy to work around. I'd imagine most of the permabanned users just don't want to come back, and I wouldn't blame them. We have accounts that literally amount to a username of "Not *banned username A*" with the same profile pic but upside down or with inverted colors.
also all the shit that happened during the Invasion shitstorm
and they got punished for that. and nobody cares anymore, if you're friend with one of them chances are you're still in touch with them outside FP and/or as you mentioned they would come back if they wanted.
Even three years later i still don't fully understand why around 2/3rds of the content created was cut from that update. The disagreement on payout percentages was one thing, but surely valve would have taken them all to task when they clearly saw most of the revenue flowing to the people at the top? (Bang, ronin)? I mean community updates after that were changed as a result, but like, why not start there instead of delivering a watered down, mainly cosmetic fluffdate?
shitty wording on my part; I mean that the list was in the steam sale/during it. Of course the $$$ is being counted for the year.
If nobody cares anymore, then why are you still replying, instead of just ignoring what I say and moving on?
This is all well and good, but how do we update the item schema data in the program when new items come out again? It used to auto-update on its own when it discovered it was out of date, and I'm not sure this outdated version of the program will do that -- after all, in the video, he had to supply his own updated schema for it.
i mean they could just have made an alt. you would know about that, right?

https://i.imgur.com/uha37tO.png Fat Spy is one of the most rewarding subclasses in the game.
Consider who you're asking that to. I'd hope I've given enough hints for it to at least be clear whether or not I'm a new user.
Are you sure about that?
well yes. it's a free reward to anyone using an item that grants a bonus on kill
I can think of many, many sub-classes that are more rewarding.
