You know it's ironic that I wanted to rate your reply as "Optimistic", but that rating is no longer available. Can't find optimism even here. :v
wake me up when tf2 gets a major update. hibernating time
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=33-VuvmquUI
I'd recommend getting a good hobby on the side, something to do while there's downtime if your getting bored with TF2. For me, I'm currently creating a new Spray based off of Blue from Jurassic World. Been wanting to do something with her for a while and I feel like now is a perfect time to do so.
Here is what is going to happen; The Heavy Update is not going to happen this year. Instead, we will receive two more Blue Moon-type Updates. One this month or August, and the other in Winter. This year we will (in the same pattern as so far, means rather sparringly) receive tweaks to comp aswell in regular patches. Next year, thing will be looking quite differently. We will not receive a Blue Moon update in the first part, but will receive the Heavy Update in Summer. It will launch in the first week of July.
I had some higher div hl player trash talking in an near-empty dustbowl pub about how they were so good it was boring I normally don't really care much for people complaining about people being sweaty in pubs, but good bloody god you could practically swim in the sweat, and it really kills your fun why do people gotta be so toxic
I think I would have been a smart ass in that situation and asked him. Trying to state something along the lines of asking him if he's stomping pubs to make up for not doing well in his division lol... Any chance he actually do anything to help the newer players at all improve so he'd get more of a challenge out of them or did he just insult them ( either indirectly or directly ) the entire time?
Nope, attitude the entire time. It was like they were being forced to play and they were just...above it all. I could maybe see that sort of trash-talking in a PUG (even then it'd still be really toxic) but in a dustbowl pub it really stood out. I picked out bits of the tail end from the console: Jeronimooo :  easy Jeronimooo :  this game is booooring Veenox :  me too reisalmim :  i dont think so Jeronimooo :  so easy... -.- Pro gamer 999 :  yeah sure kid CEKCУAЛЬHЫЙ ДPAKOHЧИК :  its not here soldier Setsu :  Deflate your fucking ego lol Pro gamer 999 :  ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) Jeronimooo :  you're trying so hard lol Setsu :  legit none of us are Setsu :  we're tired as fuck Pro gamer 999 :  i have been doing contract and its 8 pm Pro gamer 999 :  so yeah i`m almost asleep Jeronimooo :  sure lol Jeronimooo :  it's 1PM and my screen doesnt work Jeronimooo :  yawn Red Dagger :  imagine being so bad you have to trash talk in pub dustbowl games  Red Dagger :  :^) Jeronimooo :  i'm good Pro gamer 999 :  ye Jeronimooo :  so :/ Pro gamer 999 :  pretty good Jeronimooo :  i know Pro gamer 999 :  go to highlander Pro gamer 999 :  ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) Jeronimooo :  already won prem div Setsu :  you're a fucking sad person jeronimo Pro gamer 999 :  yeah sure  Jeronimooo :  i got a medal to prove it Pro gamer 999 :  keep telling yourself that Pro gamer 999 :  sonny bragging about winning prem div hl in a dustbowl pub
This kind of shit is what's keeping me from enjoying the game to the fullest. I love TF2's world, style, and core gameplay, but the community can be a real vial of ricin sometimes.
hud_saytexttime_0 voice_enable_0 That turns off the 12 year old toxicity spigots. Makes the game more fun.
I always knew they key revenue given to community creators was pretty bad compared to the 25% of store sales but I didn't know it was this bad, it's even lower than I thought. Stop being so cheap Valve, pay your community creators fairly. https://twitter.com/joewintergreen/status/651879114169696256
TF2 gets the short end of the stick as always. https://twitter.com/FMPONE/status/651887879082409984
mannconomy update was a mistake
MvM would likely not be around if not for the virtual economy. And of course the game would be totally dead.
good. less ambitious projects to get into, falsely leading us to think they would be anything more than tests.
MvM must have given you at least hundreds of hours of fun no? It might be one of the best pve adaptations of a pvp game ever. Have no idea what Valve will do if more countries go against lootboxes like in Belgium and the Netherlands. They won't forget all the data they've made on microtransactions.
limited crates were dropped ages ago and that tweet is 3 years old, so I dont really know why youd dig that up obviously I am not going to step up and say things have changed for the good, dont hurt valve!!! but half of the content the tweet was complaining about (being limited crates) doesnt exist anymore and for all we know numbers might have changed, if higher or lower
That tweet was from 2015. Get the lead out, maggots.
tbh I'd preffer blue moon updates which are fixing dozens bugs the game has, I'd much rather have new maps added to rotation, weapons being re-balanced, maps being fixed, etc etc rather than new content.
I didn't realize it was so old, that developer recently retweeted it due to Epic lowering the cut they take on their store and several TF2 content creators liked it on twitter. Fuzzy has some recent tweets about the issue so it sounds like it's still something work talking about. The fact that Valve seems to be dodging that 25% payout by not putting cosmetics in the store anymore does make it something still worth talking about. I also found it interesting we got an exact percentage, I knew it was around 10% but I didn't realize it was actually 7%. https://twitter.com/fuzzymellows/status/1017822867969503232 https://twitter.com/fuzzymellows/status/1017822867969503232
i don't speak for anyone else but i think it's worth mentioning that from a handful of cosmetics from jungle, winter 2017 and blue moon alone, all of which i shared the revenue with other contributors in varying amounts, i make more money than some of my friends do with full time jobs while i think the topic is certainly open to debate, i would still consider the amount of money valve give out via the workshop fairly generous
While I can understand the situation and why you'd want to do this. I'd actually urge that you don't instead. Team Fortress 2 is a team oriented game, which means communication plays a significant role and importance in the game. But you're also muting absolutely everyone using those commands, including potentially decent people to talk to and communicate with. I also feel it stunts growth of the community disabling all forms of communication as well.
No it isn't. You can still use voicechat and text chat. You just can't see what other people are saying.
New update, besides localization file updates it added lootbox restrictions to Belgium and the Netherlands. +"ToolContainerRestrictedTitle" "Opening Not Allowed" +"ToolContainerRestricted" "Opening this container is not allowed in your country." +"Store_ConfirmDecoderRestrictionCheckoutText" "Cases and crates may not be opened in your country. Any purchased cases, crates, or key items will not be usable."
harry you spoke too soon
alright shit time to get a patreon
I wouldn't get too worried, Valve won't be giving up community made items even if lootboxes are btfo worldwide. They'll sell them in the store again and y'all will make money that way, Unless governments go after paid in game items/purchases in general than rip.
At that point you might as well consider it the same thing.
so tonight was the night. for localization files.
Hey it was a better summer update than we got last year.
