and the widowmaker showing you earn metal from shooting disquised spies
I have the feeling that Contra is going to show up to talk about being a spy main now.
You're in no place to passive-aggressively comment on another user's tendencies. I expect Contra knows more about Spy than you (or most of us) could dream of.
It's all a trade off between consistent game mechanics and Spy nerfs when it comes to things like weapons colliding with teammates.
The "collecting craftables" guy is a marked scammer: https://steamrep.com/profiles/76561198013678793 Water found to be wet. Further research required to determine if it rolls downhill.
i like dueling anyone who dons the name "Bill" somewhere in their username. There can only be one.
Should the backburner have a different/distinctive sound? My main experience with dying to it is turning around to run from a pyro, and getting tickled with crits because it wasn't obvious they're using the backburner. It's a minor thing that honestly doesn't happen that often, but it always feels like a cheap death the first time you realise an enemy pyro is running the thing.
I find that to be more of a fault IMO that the normal backburner is just the flamethrower with a different "Head" to it. Which is significantly more difficult to distinguish when your both looking at each other directly. At least the festive one adds those dumb antlers that make it a little bit more easier to distinguish. Outside of that, they could possibly put a slightly different to make it a bit more transparent as to which one the pyro is carrying.
there's already a different/disctinctive sound any more than that won't matter regardless because of how fast crits should kill you
YOU TELLING ME THE PROFILE WITH THE SCLANTLY-CLAD WOMAN THAT ADDED ME WAS A SCAM?
It's definitely not noticeable enough imo. Half the time i'm fighting it I can't tell the difference.
have blown myself up on sentries and dispensers a few too many times
Inaccurate. That is probably why he shows up (or related to why).
yeah that was my next point. friendly engi buildings should also not block anything ever especially with how dumb/dangerous it is for rocketlaunchers
What's the reason for engineer buildings blocking friendly rockets?
Same reason why somewhat close teammates block rockets, to prevent players from using stuff as meatshields while spamming from safety.
actually no, there's a failsafe that allows explosives to pierce through nearby teammates, but only within the specific range gaben decided it would. and the "meatshield" thing is completely a non-problem in any scenario. even if it were, it's still a form of teamwork.
I will miss being able to stand behind a dispenser that has an engineer sandviched between it and the sentry, swiping my knife to undisguise and watching the sentry mow down it's own engineer though lol.
that doesn't sound like a "friendly building" to me
Yea these ratings don't look good at all
Yeah, at first I thought that was a dagger or something, not and I. What I mean is that if an engineer puts a sentry infront of him and a dispenser behind him. You could stand behind the dispenser, swipe your knife to lose your disguise and the sentry will turn around and murder the engineer. After he's dead, the sentry would still fire at the spy, but the dispenser would actually block all fire so you wouldn't take damage. You could then disguise and/or cloak and run away. It was very rare to use, but rather humorous would you could pull it off. In my entire 7.25k hours played I've managed to do it like 3 to 5 times lol.
i know what it is. It still got nothing to do with friendly buildings blocking friendly shots at all times/range
That's why I said "somewhat" close, I know there is a failsafe, otherwise shit would explode in your face. I'm indifferent to it tbh
finally found the TF2 reference in this sale https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/260169/7601e8cd-6244-47d5-bb97-0e450caf8f52/image.png
Hwhat in tarnation is that... These steam sales are getting weirder.
There's also a Saxton Hale hat, Balloonicorn Onesie, and a Balloonicorn Horn. Both Balloonicorn items are misspelled as Baloonicorn.
that totally still works. the sentry doesn't damage the dispenser, afaik, so there's virtually no downside to employing that strat- though you'd be better shooting the engineer while you do it and then shooting the gun, since crouching/disguising will take a more time.
I'm 50/50 on it since I use friendly engi buildings to get REALLY juicy jumps. It's essentially ctapping without the effort if you jump off of one correctly.
This can also be done with soldier/demo jumping behind an engineer and having his gun shoot him from behind as he runs over to attack. You have to be moving extremely fast with a synced explosive jump, but I’ve seen it done, notably on badwater first.
Right, so I reinstalled this game the other day and had an absolute blast for a while! But then I started to remember one of the reasons I stopped playing it: It's difficult to enjoy if your team is full of either brainlets or people who are new to the game and still getting the hang of things and your team is getting steamrolled constantly. So this is a serious question, what are some ways to have fun even when your entire team is getting destroyed every 30 seconds?
