Jesus christ I just switched to HESH in my Ru251, this shit is amazing.
I just don't trust HESH these days, because any bit of extrusion from the tank's surface (or any sort of spaced armor bit) absolutely nullifies it, while HEAT usually keeps going, unless we talking about the particle eating fucking tracks.
So is there a RB pairing where Russian tanks are at a disadvantage?
I have basically just played US tanks so my view might be biased, but I've only witnessed 2 types of matches, either German and Russian tanks are on a team and it is like playing a team of rock and paper vs scissors, or it is allies vs axis where the axis almost 100% of the time just get steamrolled. In both cases though, Russian tanks are definitely in an advantageous position
Just got chat banned for 15 days because I implied gaijin might have been a little lazy with their base anti air on ground maps (e.g. advance to the rhine base AA not shooting at enemy planes until they are right on top of it).
T18E2 is actually pretty fun in BR battles way beyond it's BR, though it's so fucking slooooooooooow offroad.

nah, the only trust you need is trust in your own aim - the HESH is harder to use but it's so much more potent than the HEAT in capable hands that there's no contest. willingly firing HEAT from the M40 recoilless rifle is just gimping yourself.
Eh, dunno, to each their own, I can generally oneshot with HEAT in most cases. They're both just as good rounds, but I've just had enough bad experiences with HESH not to use them when I know how to use HEAT just as well.
they're really not "just as good"; the HEAT round for the M40 is garbage and you may as well use an entirely different tank that at least has HEAT with decent velocity. the whole point of the gun is you make the tradeoff of shit velocity for god-tier HESH, so picking some pretty meh HEAT over it is just throwing away the main advantage you have.
from what i remember most of the type 60 videos you've shown off here show you having to take multiple shots to get a kill with HEAT so idk about oneshotting with it. this is a tank where you get 10 rounds total and you're arguing in favour of a round that *your own videos* demonstrate is so unreliable it can take upwards of 4 shots to kill a single target that HESH would've easily taken out in half that, if not only one.
Jesus you really have a personal vendetta against me or something, lmao. I'm not going to argue further as I said in the last post, because it's pointless, you're hellbent on trying to have your way, so have it, I'm not interested in clogging the thread up with more pointless arguing.
Did they fix the RARDEN in the latest test yet? Since the first time dev servers were open, it fired single shot, while I thought it was fed by 3 round clips/things?
I like to keep some HESH around in any loadout, no matter if my main shell is HEAT or AP(FS)DS. It's never my main and I rarely use it, but if I need a certain kill against something lightly armoured, it's a godsend. My main problem with it is the generally lower velocity you get, which means greater travel time so more target-leading and more drop-time.

it's the model and performance not the plane
Fuck me that is probably the most clickbait title/thumbnail for a war thunder video I've ever seen
FAKE!?!?!??!?!?!??!?!?!??!?!??!?!??!?!??!?!??!?!
Welp, I finally unlocked the Challenger. Now the joys of stock tank grinding!
someone made a quite nice writeup on why this video is, uhh... less than stellar.

the guy behind the video has a bit of a history of making videos like this :v

I hate when the matchmaker does this shit. I identify tanks mostly by type, not by big blue name floating above, so having the entire enemy team also be the same as my allies is just horrible.

Crew members have 4mm of armour?
It's confusing, but to me this feels like the closest way to have a fair match.
If I want 100% fair, I'll play AB, not RB. RB is balanced roughly by BR, and the rest is up to player skills.

Good joke Gaijin
Welcome to Abdul's house of horrors

I unlocked the IS-2 today and holy balls this thing is a poacher cause it extincts Tigers. I feel dirty every time I scoot up and one-shot some lumbering beast and then moonwalk away at lightspeed like im mj or something. WOW its so fun to play

Although the features of War Thunder mechanics are such that most forbidden modifications will simply not work or will at best provide extremely meager opportunities, the advertisement of such modifications is full of loud promises.
Its like im really in 1980 Moscow.
What a load of bullshit. With this P2W game people have a lot of incentive to cheat, and no real anticheat working against them.
A regular cheater is most likely just getting a solid pen hit on his first or second shot at <1km, and wont be caught for years.
I've mentioned it before but I have a mate that was using one which highlighted enemies as well as the direction they were looking it. It even warned him if someone was looking in his direction.
Sure you can't know where all the enemies are at all times due to the server side decision on if you should be able to see them or not, but its a massive advantage regardless.
A month later and he got a temp ban for being toxic in chat after repeatedly being called out on it and responding rudely.
A non-cheating average player can get a solid pen on first or second hit at under 1km though, and above average beyond that. But yeah, there's still a lot of cheaters around although ever since serverside replays were added players at least have a bit easier way of providing (tiny bit more) solid proof.

This Plane had terrible prop role on the dev server
I like the design, visually.
Yeah, not a bad looking plane, but not sure what it has over other similar planes in the soviet tree? Apart from all guns in fuselage. Not like I'll ever use it since I fucking suck at A2A.
