God damnit I thought I bought the heli + tank pack for russians, now I got a great heli but I don't have any tanks beyond KV2.

ive had hilarious quantities of fun with the KV-2 at Rank V in urban maps, ngl. I particularly like to imagine just how irritating it must be to die to a KV-2 at higher ranks
Yeah it's alright. I nailed a M60A1 with the KV2, then next match I pilot sniped a jet and shot down two helis with the I-153-M62.

The list is publicly there for the choppers but you won't be able to actually buy them without purchasing one of the chopper packs or doing the 10 days long mission stuff.

I never understood this logic. You're paying to be a tester, while getting some premium vehicles too. You're not paying to get several months of grinding to get ahead of others. Of course there's going to be a reset.
Then why would anyone bother? If that were the case the vehicles should be easy to unlock and "test" not have a worse grind than tanks right now.
Because they're testing the vehicles? That includes the amount of grinding it takes to unlock the next vehicle.
What? If you want people to test vehicles you make those vehicles accessible so people CAN test them.
Generally when you test something you "test" the thing you are interested in, the original tanks beta had people locked to certain ranks which got them testing those specific vehicles/ranks meanwhile this is just flat out the final experience masked with "beta" punchline. The changes made during this time are no more impactful than anything that gets changed based on feedback from the live servers.
More to the point, there isn't any need to "test" the level of grind when you can extrapolate that information from match results anyway (let alone the 3 other vehicles types currently live...).
There is a fairly obvious difference between testing and early access.
It's less about testing and more about gaijin trying to make as much money as possible before they finally have to let people play it for free, I mean just look at those full indie game prices...
There's also the fact that helicopters apparently were in CBT on the test server then when the update came out to the main server they were still locked and in "testing" even though you can see the tech tree and fight them? Doesn't make any sense except for a chance to get more money out of people if you don't want to grind your ass off to try and unlock them before they are open to the public.
what they're doing with helicopters is the same as what they've done many times before with early access to new shit. getting more money out of people is exactly what they want and those who refuse to pay but still want the new toy are encouraged to play more to get the token thingies to unlock access for "free"; win-win for gayjim.

Changes to the cost of respawning in RB ground battles for vehicles with Battle Ratings of 8.0 and higher:
Helicopter respawn costs have been reduced by 20%.
After installing an ATGM on a helicopter, the respawn cost will be increased by 40% of the base respawn cost.
Respawn costs on all aircraft have been increased: for fighters by 50%, attackers by 30%, and bombers by 20%.
The variance of costs for available additional vehicle weaponry (such as cannon pods, bombs, etc) on fighters has been removed.

Maybe the ol' noggin isn't working right for me today but as far as I can tell, anything sub 8.0 is still unchanged, which also means it's even more practical to use low tier planes because they cost less sp than regular br planes.
Change to fighters is beyond fucking dumb.
Once that change hit almost every single round is a helicopter fuckfest of "if you spawn in a tank you immediately die" because no one can spawn fighters to shoot them down.

Yup that's what the change log says, only affects vehicles of BR 8.0 or higher, so, you can still use your lower tier jets and prop planes as if nothing changed.
