The game runs fine for me but the menu is stutter city.
Oh, to everyone here who uses windows 10.
If you are experiencing small hickups in gameplay with random frame drops, Make sure you download a script that empties out the standby memory every 5 minutes. BF1 was notorious for using all your "free memory" which caused Win10 to bottleneck it and cause stutters:

Friend of mine DL it and tried it with 1/V, and said it worked perfectly.
It is not well explained anywhere in the game, but you need to have a reserve medpack on you (shown next to your ammo) to be able to revive as any class. Medic is the only that spawns with them, other classes need to pick them up.
I often find myself thinking the revive is bugged when I actually don't have a medpack on me, if you dont the prompts don't show.
Your CPU should be enough, GPU is a bit outdated but I'm surprised performance is that bad. I had a 970 and BF1 ran better than that for me before the netcode patch fucked up quad core performance.
I'm really, really glad they didn't redo the variants thing. That was the dumbest shit
BF since 4 has always been a ram/cpu hog. I remember when I had 8GB of ram with 4, and after upgrading to 16, i gained like 20-30 fps with zero hitching.
huh, I was thinking about getting an i7, might throw in some RAM too.
turn directx 12 off
i was getting 15-25 fps with it on and after turning it off i get 50-60 fps on ultra. i think the setting broken at the moment.
To me, 16gb is now the standard.
Man, I don't know what changed me or Battlefield. But my first impressions are not good.
Medic is my favorite class in all Battlefields, but this new revive system is dogshit and it is really putting me off of it.
This whole thing just gives me a vibe of a confusing mess.
Maybe I just need to give it more time or something.
Gotta say, I'm pleasantly surprised by the beta. It's not the best BF by a long shot but it's better than I was expecting. The brightness on Rotterdam is fuckin' wack though. The bright areas feel like the sun is 10 feet away at all times but areas in shade are practically pitch black. Visibility actually seems to improve when it rains simply because the contrast gets normalised.
Also I really like the look of the depth of weapon customisation, which is something I hadn't seen anyone at all talk about before. There's a lot of different parts to play with and the selection of camos / parts in the beta seem pretty grounded and cool looking. I was expecting it to be like BF1's weapon skins again.
Like I said before, if you watch the clips he is talking over he is almost always in range of ammo. There have been a handful of occassions when I was deep behind enemy lines and out of ammo but that just enhanced the experience if anything.
People have reported bugs about reviving but what specifically do you mean? The fact that it takes a few seconds instead of jabbing someone with a syringe or defib?
Sometimes I get confused about how I'm receiving fire. I was attacking on Arctic Fjord last night and it felt like I was being shot at from every direction. The removal of 3D spotting was a good change but its definitely going to take some getting used to.
Having an absolute blast so far, my only complaints thusfar are quality of life ones, otherwise i'm super on board with this. It's gorgeous and feels great to play. For me, BF1 played like dogshit so this is a nice change of pace.
I suppose my main issue is the animation that it runs through. The problem is that it yanks control from the player to give you a good cinematic view, and its just completely jarring to me.
I go from running and gunning, popping smoke, and handing out health packs to completely static and stuck in an animation pulling a buddy to their feet. Regardless of how quickly that animation plays, it breaks the flow of gameplay (in my opinion) to get the player stuck into it. It almost feels like a punishment for trying to revive someone.
Not to mention that revives are now something everyone can do, which despite that I managed to not get revived even once over the course of my first session today.
But again, maybe I just need to give it more time.
Also, agreed with confusion about where I am taking fire from. Overall removal of 3D spotting is a big plus in my view as I see it though.
how do i do that? Turn off DX12 :c
first point under advanced tab in settings
Besides DX12 freaking out, BFV is running great on ultra/DX11 with my 1800X, 16GB RAM and RX580. Can run the game and stream/record, fps barely dips below 60.
This gets me sometimes as well, I'll get bullets flying past me and I have no idea which direction they're coming from. Even if they hit, sometimes when I'm not paying attention (most of the time) I'll just do pirouettes on the spot searching for the fucker ignoring the indicator. Doesn't help that there's quite a lot of visual noise to deal with, watching back some of my recordings I'm missing quite a few folk in clear sight.
Are there any gif sites that allow you upload videos bigger than 100 mb? I got some pretty cool looking sturmtiger stuff.
Anybody had a chance used the Case/Canister round for the Valentine yet? Looks brutal, would work towards it but in my 15hrs so far I've secured myself a tank spawn once.
Using the Bren is a borderline sexual experience
Would really appricate if my guy didnt decide to deploy the bipod midway through during a shooting match while in cover.

Good to see some experiences never change
whos the complete idiot that decided how few bullets you're given?
one magazine and a spare as a medic?
30 rounds total for the Gewere 43?
The only thing i don't like is the power of the STG. Seems like the be all end all of the entire assault kit.
Try the gewere43 with the uhhh... the scope attachment, I can't remember its exact name.
I went 22/0 with it. thing kills in three center mass hits, has negligible recoil, and fires lickity split
Played around 10+ hours of the beta, other than the network and technical issues right now I'm really having a blast. The gunplay feels a lot more fun with the TTK feeling better overall, which is a nice trade-off for the lower total ammo capacity. I kind of miss the behemoths spectacle-wise but the reinforcement system is a nice substitute gameplay-wise.
There's still moments where a large chunk of the team are brain dead but the very least the new revive mechanics and stuff actually seem to help on having capture points be less impenetrable throughout the entire round now since medics can't just aim a syringe and revive while prone anymore. Making it possible where if there's at least a 1-2 competent squads they can actually capture a point.
Can't really judge the progression system at the moment, getting stuff feels fast right now which is nice but I'm guessing it's more of a beta thing. I also like the changes in spotting, and it makes ambushes and flanks much more fun to do, and while on defense, it's also nice that it encourages you to be more alert.
Overall definitely a fun game and a nice evolution to the BF formula imho, there's enough differences here to not just feel like a copy paste of BF1 into WW2. Looking forward to see how the co-op mode goes too.
