Shit is fun.
I like what I played, I just feel like the TTK is way too fast, once you take a bullet you're basically already dead. The attrition system is alright, I just think there needs to be a little bit more ammo allowed to you when you spawn. Talking about vehicles, I could only try the BF109 and the Stuka, died to an oversized collision model with the Stuka and the BF109 handles like shit, you can't make sharp turns so getting someone off your tail is virtually impossible.
I mean getting people off your tail never works in bf anyway unless its a fighter vs attack plane. Also the ttk shouldn't be that high.
It plays and feels a lot like Battlefield 1 without spotting. The UI kind of sucks but that always gets worked out before the games release. It's hard to make sweeping comments about the gameplay because it runs pretty bad for me but snipers feel really strong, reviving people is much more difficult, and I actually kind of like having to hunt down supply stations between fights.
I think it doesn't play like BF1 at all... BF1 felt a lot more random for me.
Why do people always excuse the shortcomings of Dice offerings in the so-called 'alpha' and 'beta' stages when each successive game is barely more than a reskin of the previous one. Mark my words, if you have anything more than minor gripes with it now you will not be happy with it at release either.
I mean, I use the "hehehehe bayta" meme too, but this is one of those times where it's a legitimate excuse as the CA build is most likely the E3 build which was confirmed to be not be weeks, but months old. I fully expect things to be noticeably different by the time the most recent build at Gamescom gets shown off as they've already stated that they've changed a lot of things stats-wise since that months old E3 build. Not to mention other aspects like dragging and survivable crashes being totally absent from the E3 build.
They said it wasn't the E3 build in the Q&A.
Finally played it, pretty good. I thought I would like the MG34 but jesus christ it's basicly unusable.
BTW, if you haven't received a code check if you're still signed-up for the Battlefield Insider: Battlefield Insider – Battlefield Official Site It's possible that for some god-forsaken reason you might have gotten unsubscribed, like me (which means no codes). Apparently they're still sending out codes so it's worth subbing again.

I think we have to really think about placement with the medium MGs. I tried hip firing it but you actually might not be able to hit a barn door that way, but another guy got a good flank on us and ripped up 5 people before we could react since he mounted it on a 2nd floor window. Also, minor thing, but I appreciate the increased blood in the game. Makes it feel like we're not just firing bbs and acting like we're dead now. Also, rumors are the war stories in the base game are for Norwegian resistance (which we knew), French colonial forces, and a special forces type North Africa campaign.

That worked with Battlefront 2, but they got wise.
Nice little detail, if you fall from great heights not only do you take fall damage but you get staggered as well: https://clips.twitch.tv/FairStrongShallotCorgiDerp
That's quite a change from the old days of parachuting out of the second floor of a building.
Can't get the webm now, but ledge grabbing is in the build and you can save yourself from a fall by grabbing any ledge. Probably would murder your arms, but still looks cool.
I love it so far. I like how heavy tanks are actually heavy and are slow as fuck with tons of armor. Also i like being able to shoot at things and actually land on target instead of kinda in the same area ish.
I got to play it a little bit more and I'm definitely enjoying it. The map seems a bit imbalanced because all of my games have had the British team completely crushing the German team but the actual gameplay is fun. Regarding the TTK, I don't feel like damage has gone up so much as the amount of bullets you are able to land on target. Every weapon I've tried always shoots exactly where you are aiming from the very first shot and they are all quite accurate, so I think people are just getting hit by more bullets than they were before. Pistol feels kinda weak but that could just be the fact that I've mostly played sniper. Speaking of which, sniper is amazing. I've had several killing 10+ killing sprees because no one can find me without 3D spotting. Bad stuff is UI and performance. I really don't like the change to watching your squadmate from third person, and would rather just have the system BF1 had. Having to hit a button to go to overview to switch classes before spawning on a squadmate again feels clunky when it can all be done from the same screen in BF1. And the game runs about as bad as Battlefield 1 does for me which is to say, quite badly. It's frustrating because both BF1 and BFV are the only games that give my computer trouble even on lowest settings and I can't figure out what to do about it. If it's not fixed by the open beta I might have to pass the game up because while it is fun, it's just too difficult;t to play at 30 average FPS.
I surprisingly got one. It doesn't run great on my computer even though I run BF1 fine on Ultra with 60fps+. The game is... interesting. Haven't made a fully formed opinion.
The TTK people are reporting makes me a bit nervous. I thought BF4 was probably the quickest I wanted to go for time to kill and BF1 made it even faster. With Raidyr's post in particular, it was the thing I was worried about with the "no deviation" thing for the guns. Recoil should make it hard to fire lots of bullets accurately and from the videos I've seen I'm just not seeing it. There was a reason the deviation was there in the first place, even if it was an unintuitive mechanic when aiming down sights.
The no 3D spotting is extremely apparent. And im so glad they took the only thing OW did right by putting enemy outlines when they are in sight. Its the best of both worlds and encourages team play with coordinating enemy positions rather than spamming Q to spot 5 people who happened to be in the area and now everyone sees them. I die a lot less from people from fucking miles away now since you don't get dorito spammed from across the map.
Planes are back to being underwhelming again, not only do the bombs have the power of a roman candle, you need to resupply them everytime. I think I landed 3 of them on a guy and it did like 39 percent of his health.
What are your specs? I was super worried it would run shit, but ye it's bf1 perf for me too (90-110 fps, but tbh im gonna get an i7 probably to make better use of my 144hz monitor). I was worried recoil control would be too easy, but the videos really don't give back how much the guns kick, especially the STG44.
Just had a match were we were down by about 20 tickets for the second half of the game. With one final push at the end we capped enough flags and ended up pulling off a: 0 - 0 draw. Needless to say most of us were confused.
I have a bias against planes so would rather see them too weak than too strong but even I feel like they are a bit undertuned right now. I don't think I've gotten a single kill with the bombs and the speed/manueverability feels awful coming from BF1. I'm really liking it even at ~30 FPS. The gunplay and 3D spotting changes alone make it better. Could also be the fact that I've won all but one of my games so far
I think I would have a better reception if the map wasn't so boring, most matches are just people sitting around without any direction. It feels like it dosen't really flow like some of BF1's best maps
Which gamemode though? I agree that conquest seems to be slapped on to give an early taste, but grand ops flows well imo.
Air vehicles are too powerful in BF1. It's not fair at all that some guy in a bomber can drop a payload on a group of players and land 10+ kills when they have practically no way to counter it. Yeah regular guns damage planes but you'd need serious concentrated fire to have a chance at taking down a bomber before it wipes out half your team. Personally I fucking hate aireal vehicles in Battlefield, their players are the most self-entitled shits in the world. Their bitching nerfed all the anti-air option on BF4 to the point of uselessness. Most of them just want to be immortal flying gods who pick off ground troops with no retaliation and I fucking hate them.
Going back to BF4 AA was a fucking nightmare. If an attack jet had a fighter to protect his ass 24/7 there was literally nothing you could do. AA launchers never worked, and the AA tank doesn't have enough DPS to kill them before they fuck off to the other side of the map to regen health/flares. So far in BFV AA vehicles are fine. Bombers cant be pelted by and small arms fire, and the AA guns still take an entire CD to kill them.
