Battlefield Franchise Megathread v4 "Black Panthers in ze Panzers" Edition

A lot of folk are stil fixated on the woman with the artificial arm and chained up cricket bat, they're likely talking about stuff like that. I guess they had more wacky customisation options but haven't shown them due to the backlash from the initial trailer.
If that's true that's fucking hilarious since I'm pretty sure you can only play as the British as the Allies. So tolerant those 1940s Brits.
Fortifications are an absolutely vital part in the GO maps and 99% of teamsters do NOT know that it can be done or how. Seriously, getting the ring of fortifications up on D artillery site in narvik has consistently been so effective that the opposite team either loses or never wins with more than 50 tickets.
Pisses me right off how stupid players are.

the plight of a battlefield engineer
It's really not obvious at all that you're being repaired by a friendly, and it's such an inconceivably unlikely event that you would never expect it to happen at all. There should either be a more obvious noise or a more noticeable popup for that.
Uh. So there's a 1000KG bomb for the Stuka and I'm definately going for that now.
All supports, at least the ones running the current specialization, have the repair tool. It's the fortification button.
Yeah a lot of people don't realize yet how powerful certain planes are, I'm expecting an incoming nerf on how tanky they are though. Its pretty hard to actually kill them with anything in the game.
The first plane death I hate was after being chased by a spitfire for about 7 minutes, and then I just jumped right back into another one.
Agreed, some points become flat out fortresses, i adore this system especially as a Support main.
On planes, LMGs do pretty appreciable damage to them but with mags sizes all being what they are in the beta it's really hard to stay on them.
Aircraft handling is very strange. I think this is how they flew in BF1? They're also somewhat similar to how planes flew in the old games, but like a comically exaggerated version of the speed influencing handling.
Just had a game of Narvik where we got through the first day pretty easily then got absolutely slaughtered on the second day. We literally couldn't move up because their entire team put themselves on the hill that the attackers usually snipe from and just shot down at us.
Nah, gotta blow them up. That's why I run mines as support as sort of a "sapper" build.

I'm liking this more the more I play it. My framerate is still pants, even though I'm playing on all low. I still have an i5 3570, so my CPU might be bottlenecking badly.

The BFV infantry experience.
Something I noticed about driving a tank is that it's much quicker to get out and repair the old fashioned way than to try and do it the BF1 way.
Unironically wish that you lose massive amounts of points if you miss an easy revive
I can imagine co-op is going to really help with leveling up weapons and vechicles that in pvp, at least i can only hope so.
I find it really difficult to figure out where enemies are going to appear from and the ammount of snipers is a general annoyance. Speaking of which, whenever i try and use the Lee, i just can't sseem to make it work. Is the bullet drop harsh or am i just missing something?
Guess i will see about buying BF1 when the beta ends.
Holy SHIT, the 90mm Howitzer is fucking bonkers for the Churchill
47 damage per hit against a fucking Tiger
Poor fucker just backpedalled at light speed popping smoke after just one boom on that despite getting the first shot on me
You can actually lean over the turret as well when crouching behind it
This made me shit my pants

Don't overmanuever and fly kids.

i am convinced that playing battlefield games lowers the average human IQ by 50 points.
the amount of times i have begged for some ammo must be in the thousands at this point
Someone said the game should have an unskippable tutorial that lays out all the functionality before you are allowed to play MP. I could get behind that. Also a test range like BF4's.
If anybody wants TAA gone (more visual clarity), here's a temporary workaround (final game will allow you to disable it):
user.cfg
Yeah, I probably was laughing for a good 15 seconds after I tried it out.
Weirdly enough "white men" isn't censored, so there's that I guess?
Haha holy shit, the British tanks completely shit on German tanks when fully upgraded with both the Valentine and Churchill 2 shotting Tigers with their upgraded guns
Literally unironically biased against Germans
But oh man the internet hate train is full steam ahead on this one, can't wait for No Bullshit/Downward Thrust/Cleanprince Gaming (yongyea apparently already threw something together)/the 100s of negativity channels on youtube to get a hold of this one.
Even though the chat filter is ridiculous right now.
there's gonna be more vehicles at launch, we've already seen a Pz38t, a Daimler Armored Car, and a halftrack with a 6pdr gun outside of what's already in the game
I think we'll find some kind of vehicle balance yet
Yeah it's like they made it as in your face and easy as possible by giving everyone the ability to revive, letting you auto lock on launch ammo at people over huge distances and popups telling you to do so and people still refuse to do it. I usually just keep spamming the Q need ammo/meds until someone finally does it but sometimes I have literally been standing infront of a medic or support begging for them and they just stand there looking at me.
It's sad because medics/supports doing their job is what wins games.
I just smash the throw pouch button at groups of people that are running by. It works out more often than not. Obviously if it is a stationary group I drop a box.
