Whenever I see a pilot bail out in BF1, you can be damn sure I'm gonna go beat him to death.
Listening to the tears of pilots has never worked out in any BF game Just look at the absolute retards who used to defend the brainless Trench Fighter now flocking over and getting their dicks out to somehow convince themselves that the Ilya is not a gamebreaking tumor
i enjoy the ttk quite a bit, hardcore mode in bf4 felt too long to me
I remember when i first found out about the trench fighter being better at taking out bombers than either the zepp killer or the bomber killer. Flying over bombers and dropping all those frags was A+. But even then I knew that wasn't intended. Meanwhile in bf4 an attack plane can prevent any tanks from leaving spawn and the base AA was about as useful as a 5 second delay aimbot.

I just liked flying around in the attack plane and helping my friends, I didn't realize it would make so many people angry

only makes me angry when i cant hear shit for 30 seconds after being strafed to do the sound of constant clacking in my ear. Which btw I love how the guns sound and the clap from bullets whizzing by.
I found new guns, camos, gadgets and vehicles in the files of the alpha. Weapons Volkssturmgewehr Ribeyrolles 1918 Remington Model 8 (the autoloading from BF1) Vehicles Halifax Bomber Mosquito MRA Camos (for weapons) captured chromed custom desert custom winter custom woodland engraved gold factory new pattern woodland sprayed brown sprayed green sprayed white two-tone blueing urban tactical Camos (for uniforms) SS-Erbsentarn SS-Eichenlaubtarn Heer-Splittertarn USMC Duck Hunter and the hand-painted camo you see on the Denison smocks Gadgets Satchel charge Tripwire bomb (in the form of the S-Mine)
Huh, SS Cames
Impact grenades and sniper decoys are also coming back, I found some textures for throwable knives and a sticky AT grenade. But most importantly, skis are listed as MP gadgets : D
I better be able to ski down sand dunes in africa.
ah dangit I really wanna try this
So is it going to be one of the things where they add extra stuff to the alpha a few days in? I think bf4 did that and it was great.
Oh man, those weapon camo options sound amazing. In bf1 there were too many fancy looking skins.
Tbf it fit the vintage look and era.
Couple of things I've picked up on: The engineer archetype for support (one with ammo pouches) can repair tanks by pulling out his toolbox and holding down fire on friendly tanks. Also when running pouch classes, you can press and hold the pouch to apply the healing or ammo to yourself.
Flying mechanics feel really fucking weird. And lack of 3D spotting makes it very, very hard to be effective with a bomber or Stuka.
Alpha alpha alpha bayta bayta etc etc, but anyone else think the current OST shown so far is kinda weak? It lacks that grandiose punch of BF1's which is odd as they're not particularly going for a super serious emotional tone in this game which would make the epic grandiose style appropriate. Even BF1's Alpha had a hype as shit OST which is why I'm kinda concerned.
MMG archetype can do it too. I didn''t notice music during my gameplay. Hopefully the final game will match the quality of BF1's OST. Well I think you will be able to change your gender in the final build, if that's any consolation. Idk how many people run around as a woman as their avatar in COD WWII.
They somehow made snipers even more annoying than BF1 with the new gameplay changes, you usually can't see them anymore and the long revive animation makes you an easy target.
Honestly I've been playing mostly scout and I kind of agree. Even at subpar FPS I find myself going on killstreaks just because no one who I haven't killed is seemingly able to find me. Theres no more sweetspot but I feel like I'm actually more effective than I was in BF1. Speaking of balance though I feel like the G43 is a sleeper and when the pro players pick it up we will see a lot more complaints. I don't think it's capable of a two shot kill but it's a three shot at every range and has virtually no recoil.
I think a lot of the counters don't exist yet either like the mortar and planes are garbage now. I'm just salty from all of my bad experiences of open maps in BF1 still
Scope glint seems to be either very toned down, or bugged. I know I saw it at some point during my gameplay so idk what's going on with that. Also you can't even drag bodies yet, keep that in mind. Also someone did some testing and hitbox damage multipliers don't seem to be in the game (besides headshots) so that could also potentially change sniping. As for the G43, it's basicly every 3 hit kill SLR from BF1, and probably most reminds me of the Howell Sniper. One headshot and one bodyshot is enough to kill anyone (sometimes 2 headshots at long ranges). But once again it's probably a little better currently than it should be because no limbshot multipliers.
the "complete squad wipe" mechanic is so stupid
reminds me of a certain battle royale game.
Things I don't like: The map is a bit weak imo. Grand Operations was incredibly boring for the small bit I played of it. Conquest was better but overall the map simply wasn't too fun. Movement is slow and clunky. I feel like player movement is a hair too slow. Support / Medic roles seem quite redundant for now. So far I've rarely been given ammo, and a majority of the time I will simply use the ammo / health boxes provided around the map, since that is where I'm usually playing around anyway. For a game that tries to incentive more team play, the supply drops make you a lot less dependent on your teammates to a fault. The ammo box was made useless due to the fact that you have to stop and press "E" to actually get the ammo, where as the pouch will automatically be picked up. As said before, the "Squad Wipe" is silly. You should still be able to be revived by any medic even if your entire squad is dead. Squad Revives are a cool addition but again its contradicted by the fact that you can still play solo without needing teammates because there are free ammo and health crates everywhere. Also the fact that people aren't used to doing it yet. Fortifications are cool but the fact that they can only be done in set areas hinders unique gameplay possibilities. Tanks are useless. Thats about it. I guess my main gripe is that overall individuals are less dependent on medics and supports due to the overabundance of static ammo and health crates. For a game that tries to incentivize team play, it does it very poorly.
It's a hard balance to maintain because I don't think anyone wants to end up in a situation where they get four or five kills but can't do anything because no supports will drop ammo. "Supports not dropping ammo" is basically a meme at this point for how often it happens. Scope glint is turned down, as well as the angle that it appears. You don't see it unless they are pretty much looking right at you. Regarding the hitbox damage multipliers I seem to remember a Youtuber talking about this like DICE intended it to make the gunplay more consistent but I don't know which one. As for dragging bodies, I'm kind of worried about that. The global ragdoll effects are quite buggy and inaccurate at the moment, who knows what hell is going to play on them when you can pick them up and move them around.
This is true - but I think they took the wrong approach by making it TOO accessible. In BF1 I always had a long wait before I filled up my grenades or tools. Now I can just walk ten feet in any direction and refresh instantly.
God, I can't stand how fucking small the alpha map is. I feel like I'm getting shot from everywhere at all times
