Oof, i'm not so sure about that Melee Expert that the Combat Medic has. I'm picturing a lot of people camping corners and doorways.

Sprint faster at critical health as medic? Your squad could danger-close grenade themselves almost to death and then bumrush an objective super fast then heal each other.
Bum rushing the objective with no health sounds like a great idea. I'm sure it would work flawlessly.
I hope when the Japanese campaign comes we get to shout and do banzai charges Imagine a whole server where the Japanese team keeps charging
Has any info about battlefield royale come out yet? Interested in seeing how they will do things differently. Hoping for it to be very centred around cooperation with your squad.
iirc its going to be made by a separate company and comes out a bit after the games release, and is squads only
Firestorm this is the most concentrated dump of official news about it that we've received

I made a comic: http://www.wduwant.com/index_uploads/uploads/a8876f016024.jpg
This is really great! Though I think it would be a bit improved if you removed the captions from panel 3 and 5, let the soldier's face speak for itself.

Like many decisions about this game, disappointing, but completely expected. It almost makes me annoyed that the core gameplay is so good. It's like, this game could be my dream game if details that surround the game were just shuffled around. If the core game was trash then I could just look the other way and pass on BFV knowing I'm not missing anything and it's just not for me.
Weird, the fact that the core gameplay is so good makes it easier for me to ignore the customization shit.
BFV is one good mod away from being the best WWII shooter ever. It would be an incredible mod platform. Shame that won't ever happen. Forgotten Hope V never.
The 1942 mod is seriously underrated considering it's scope and detail. So many late nights playing that mod. "Just one more map"
Does anyone actually play BF4 anymore? I see a ton of servers with 50+ players but whenever I join them they're totally empty.
I tried to play it last night and gave up after the third or fourth server I joined in a row was empty despite saying it had 30-60 people in it. Dice need to prevent people from spoofing player counts somehow.
I was expecting this, but hoping it wouldn't be the case. I hope they at least allow you to make different squad appearances for different nations even if they share gear pools, otherwise this approach is going to be kind of ridiculous down the line if they add certain factions (e.g Japan) because they'll just end up looking like your Brits / Germans all the time.

Kinda how I felt about BF1 too, a Project Reality kind of mod for that game would have been a dream come true for me.
Yeah, I'm the same. I hate philosophy of both V and 1 that regardless of your faction, or the time and theatre in which the particular battle took place, you have all equipment available to you. I mean I sort of like it in that it lets players pick and choose, find out and stick with what they like. At the same time, asymmetry can be fun if handled well, and it makes for a more grounded experience by saying "No, you don't get to run around as an IJA soldier with a Sturmgewehr". The most upsetting thing about it is DICE can bang on all they like about how mod tools would be impractical, but it'd be well within their power to allow server owners to customise shit like this with no modification to the game necessary. With that and a few more options to tweak, the games could offer the world-wars-on-steroids experience that they are, and a more historically accurate and tactical one to potentially rival that of the likes of Red Orchestra, in the same product.
I think it's even more important for BFV to have distinct, even restricted vehicle selections in certain settings for two reasons: after armies, which aren't going to be unique to those theatres at all now, exactly what vehicles and how many you can take are an important way of making a map stand out; and it's a way of ensuring less meta vehicles see use at all now that they require a higher investment for something you're just as likely or unlikely to get a chance to use as in BF1. Volga River's Landship restriction isn't very popular, but I was happy with that exclusivity because the Landship is both visually and mechcanilly unique, and the furthest removed in design from any mobile AA, MBTs or tank destroyers in the series because of its shape and gun placement. Even in the most self-sufficient Tank Hunter package it still seats another two players. I think DICE should do something similar to era-matching for heroes and vehicles/special classes in SWBF2: let players take whatever armour or aircraft they spent company coins on, but offer a ready-made 'package' option for specific vehicles on each map for each side. Like fully upgraded Stuarts and Ha-Go options on an Invasion of the Philippines remake so that even if you went all in on a sluggish Churchill or Tiger covered in helmets and upgraded to be adequate on all maps, you can pick something that you otherwise wouldn't have wasted company coins on and might work better anyway.
No joke the Putilov-Garford is low-key the best armored vehicle in the game, people just never learned to use it. It borders on being OP. It's super well armored, its cannon is on par with the other tanks and it's the fastest of them all. To boot one of its packages (Reconaissance Package I think) uses the most hilarious weapon in the game: the proximity fuse cannon shell. It's basically the XM-25 from BF4 on steroids.
I spawned it the other night on Edge of Empires because I realized I never really used it at all when Tsar was new and went on like a 25 kill streak. It's got like the perfect combination of movement speed, armor, and firepower. The artillery truck is still probably "optimal" but the Putilov is no slouch.

Guys, I bought Battlefield 1 and all the DLC for 5 dollars when they were doing that special deal, and I haven't played it since completing the tutorial. Am I missing much? I just don't really feel the need to jump into it when I still enjoy playing Team Fortress 2 so much. Plus I have tons of single player games I play as well.
