Lich has got the same strength gain as Drow Ranger.
Lina is sometimes played as a (semi)carry, and she is squishy as well.
Lina makes for a much better semicarry than heroes like CM or Lich because she has a very strong basic ability that fully supports going for damage items; Without any talents, the max attack speed she gets from Fiery Soul is 255 and with talents its 330. The movement speed gained from it also helps her kite. She also has an actual stun and more nuking power, letting her farm gold and items faster.
She also has a choice for a talent at all talent levels that support going for a carry build (+30 damage, +350 HP, +25/2% Fiery Soul per stack, +175 attack range) so she can enable herself into a semicarry mode without first needing to get to level 20.
I was wondering, did they just design the Siltbreaker character for that eponymous campaign mode? Did they ever plan to do anything else with him?
Most of the enemies in those 2 acts just reused models from heroes and creeps. However SIltbreaker got his own model, and voice lines (even lines for killing a specific hero).
Don't worry it will come eventually.
Happy birthday, btw.
I finally made it back into the Archon bracket.
Thank you, cavern crawl.
Although apparently the ranks have been moved down? So have I actually improved overall or nah?
shiiiieeeet thats a massive gold farm for carry & SD
The new way to play Techies.
Guys, where would veil be a good choice? Venomancer? Maiden?

Fuck Techies
Fuck Tinker
Fuck AM
The new medals changed the MMR distribution slightly, if your skill/MMR is the same you get placed on a lower quality medal (less stars, anyways) than before.
Basically if you were Archon 5 in the last season and you get to Archon 5 in the current one, you have more MMR than you had previously.
So I'm better than I was before, great.
How did you pull that victory out of your ass?
We were winning fights but could never fully push because of Techies mines down the entire mid lane and most of the other lanes, and we'd usually only kill 3-4 of them. We got a ton of silences/disables, and was sure to not do anything without buy backs. They took us down to 1 barracks left, while we only had bot lane barracks killed, then we smoked and caught out Axe and Omni who were by themselves with no buy back, AM came to try to fight but got doomed with no buyback, Doom tanked all the mines down the lane, swapped Techies out and insta gibbed him, 4 of us zoned out Tinker and Techies(who bought back) while Drow killed the ancient.
Buybacks win games.
Terrorblade now has 4.20 agility gain. That's pretty impressive.
Good lord I hate people sometimes, a guy just threw a match in turbo because it went past the 25 minute mark
"I dont have time for this, 25 minutes is too long for a turbo match"
After proceeding to suicide in the enemy base, he stays afk in our fountain but somehow he still has the time to keep talking in chat? I don't fucking understand people who do this, if you don't have the time for a very long dota match, don't fucking start a queue, its not that hard
Treasure of Eminent Revival is in, it's recolors

The Kunkka sword is the only one with actual model changes AFAIK, the sword and whale having crystals on them. Everything else just has different particles/textures.
Oh boy, more immortals that I am probably not going to get. T_T
Looks like they'll be joining the Shark from last year.
Those immortals are so ugly i'm glad I get to keep my gaben bucks.
I got a "interesting" hero idea. It's kind of a gimmick hero, based on the idea of getting extra iventory slots.
They should probably be str or agi.
The hero gets 4 "passive" abilities, and 2 inate "abilities". Each non-ultimate ability is really just a duplicate ability.
Each level of those basic abilities gives a bonus item slot; so 12 bonus item slots when each is at level 4.
The ultimate ability gives 1 extra item slot per level, but each level also changes 1 backpack slot into a fully functional inventory slot.
The new inventory slots are located where the ability box would be.
As otherwise you would need a hotkey for all 18 bonus item slots, items with activated abilities work like this:
Each box has a "selected" slot, you can only use item active abilities when they are in the "selected" slot. Passive abilities and such work fine regardless of location.
The 2 inate abilities are more like hero control groups than normal abilities, they just rotate the "selected" slot forward or back.
I haven't thought of any sort of talent tree yet.
Now the balance issues with this are enormous. This hero is completely useless at first*, is completely item dependant, and has no inbuilt farm acceleration.
*Probably even if you give them stuff like good stat gain and B
It'd be very unlikely that a hero with literally no abilities would make it into lategame unless they have enormous base stats/attribute gains. Even in lategame matches people often have "only" 5 big items, it's only in the ultra-lategame where people get +7slotted, so I don't really see the use for a hero with 20+ item slots but nothing else.
Valve just announced they are releasing new takes on older Arcanas in this BP. This is the first one they announced:

How big stat gain do you think the hero would need to do that?
I indirectly mentioned that issue, when I said he has no farm acceleration.
Anyways, here is an (probably unbalanced) idea I had to solve the farm problem: Each level of his ultimate grants a gold earned multiplier 2x/3x/4x, and negates unreliable gold loss on death.
The hero could peak early by buying and stacking a lot of cheap, effective early game items.
Still, something with no active ability would be a chore and bore to play.
Cheaper items like iron branches are more efficient in terms of stats per gold, but less efficient in terms of slots.
You can buy a bunch of active items though.
I still don't see the point in having a hero like this in the game, it'd be way too boring to play and way too useless all game except for the ultra-late bits.
Going to post this in here cause I imagine a lot of you guys don't check the custom games thread much:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xfwmHgR4zbM
The mode is back on track, it's called CHIP and it already has 3 new heroes in it: Vicious Ooze, La'thaal and Mr Jeremy. There's also now a hero demo option if you just want to try the heroes out without having to load a full match.
