Best TI yet, that won't be topped easily.
What an amazing run for OG this year, congrats to them!
best storyline in TI history easily

You forgot the copyright part. also his Q is insane early-mid game for wave farming.
As strong as his Q is, I've found his Waifu Silence to be the most annoying. It only has 2 hp but its duration is so short you're not going to be able to kill it most likely if enemies are standing near you forcing you to do other stuff.
I didn't make the image. I'm reposting it.
I've found that to be incredibly situational depending on what kind of hero is affected by it, where a hero with a low bat can kill it off within a couple of seconds while it can cripple the likes of Doom. I've had a short conversation with a friend about it when we were playing against a Grimstroke. He tried to reassure me that it's just like Weaver's Swarm, just kill off the phantom. The real difference is that the phantom applies a silence, which means you can't just throw out a stun or use an escape spell to gain some safe distance to kill off the phantom like you can with a Swarm bug.
I'm slowly getting better at Willow. Right now my biggest issue is using her E + Euls at the right moment. Is there anyway to turn quick cast off just for TP scrolls? I was using quickcast for items but I would constantly teleport to a tower I was already at instead of base or something, so I turned it off. I'm using quickcast for abilities, but not having it for items makes it difficult for me to combo.

Are the battlepass achievements locked? Im a few levels away from getting another treasure and none of my progress is counting.

Eternal envy's avatar seems familiar to me.

It turns out it was from some webcomic I read pretty recently.

This part of the forum looks really dead unlike what I have seen on the other games. Is it true that Dota 2 is losing its player-base? (THEY SURE WILL IF THEY CONTINUE TO GIVE OUT BATTLE PASSES LIKE THAT, I DIDN'T LIKE AT ALL.) OR is it just a myth and people are still more about playing then talking on forums?
Pugna is love.
While it may or may not be growing anymore, at least not even nearly as fast as a year or two ago, Dota 2 is still definitely a healthy community. On FP the Dota 2 parts have been pretty dead for a while, definitely after the big change to the board itself. But basically no, the Dota 2 community isn't dead or dying. It's just that MOBAs are no longer the big genre atop the pedestal, so naturally Dota 2 and LoL, etc., are going to lose the insane growth and some amount of players.
Every International has had a larger prize pool than the last one, if the game was in a slowly dying state I'm sure the prize pools would be shrinking instead. Especially since the prize pool mostly comes from Battle Passes which only people who play Dota will buy; those who just watch the tournaments but don't play the game don't contribute to the prize pools, so it's not very likely that the prize pools would increase even while the playerbase would be on a heavy decline.
Well yes and no. Each year they gate cool stuff behind more expensive and more expensive levels. Whales don't care about dumping thousands for shiny hats so it adds up. It's disgusting how some really basic ass shit has you spending hundreds of dollars. Some of them on just a chance.
Dota has never been that big on FP has it?
The old Media and General thread had dozens of posts per day, a lot, lot more than this thread is getting.
The glory days. I'm not sure what happened, it was fading a bit and then all the forum changes seemed to just kill it.
Yeah, the new forum pretty much killed a lot of places. RIP.
I'll repost what I mentioned in the forum discussion thread: "I know I'll only be speaking for myself, but if it helps to offer any insight to why the sub is barren then... cool. I used to post a lot in the Dota sub-forum on oldpunch, made OPs for the megathreads and stuff. When the subforum was deleted and the threads moved into General Games Discussion, while we technically weren't limited to one megathread about Dota (the active ones were the chat and media, while there was a giveaway and the annual secret santa) it felt cramped next to the other games. I can attribute that feeling to conditioning, being used to having a dedicated subforum without anything else in it, but I think that's around the time that I started using that megathread less often and started lurking on the subreddit. Then when newpunch was pushed out, we got the subforum back and were discouraged from using megathreads anymore, instead being encouraged to treat it like reddit does with a multitude of threads about anything and everything. I remember there was one guy who made a thread for each hero in the game (so 100+ threads) but I can't recall if each of them had a specialized OP catered to each hero, which still leaves me to wonder if the mod that deleted all of that guy's threads and temp banned them was in the right or not (spam if the same OP, legit posts if all original). The constant shuffling of threads and the changing rules of the forum made me feel alienated from posting, and when I used to check in every day, I only check in every major patch or scandal to see if anyone I recognize had something to say about it. I wish I felt like posting more, but the only times I do is when I want to make a zinger in the LMAO pics thread." (Hezzy addressed the part about the threads, saying that he did tell people to make them for different aspects of the game. Then he shared some clarification that they were low effort threads in the end and could be considered spam.) Link here
