I wish squad voice chat worked right in Rising Storm 1. I heard it was public instead of being just for your squad. I'd use it more otherwise.
I've played tons of squad leader on Rising Storm and I haven't gotten any kicks or bad mouthing for micromanaging my squad, I don't spam but I will talk a lot. The game is kind of naked without a friend or squad to play with.

The best strat is playing SL3 or 4 and having your machinegunner die once of twice to equip the whole crew with mg42's It's also a quick way to kill the server population in no time though.
Complaint i have about the game, only bothered me just now, but has been happening since day -90 of alpha testing. Hit confirm sound effect is client side instead of server. Sometimes, the client does detect a hit, but that actually doesn't register as a legit damaging hit on server. But client still makes the noise anyway. Ran into an issue where I confirmed 3 hit noises through a wall, all of them should be CoM because I was using an AK and it was a wall made from bamboo leaves. It didn't actually hit and kill, and as a result I got shot thinking the target was pacified when in fact they were not. I'd appreciate it if the server would respond to the client that the bullets did a successful damaging hit, then play the sound effect, if that is possible with the current client-server architecture. Although I doubt there are any TWI or AMG folks reading this.

lets be honest man.. red orchestra has been a different beast! people dont understand cover or suppressing or moving as a unit.. they are the ones who pick special roles & have no idea how they operate or how they can influence the matches. welcome them in....... and slaughter them
oh no I know RO and RS is very much different from the usual shooter out there. I'm just saying that playing the objective will help them learn quicker.
Honestly after spending 6+ hours today trying to patiently help rookies and going out of my way to join the team with more of them. Fuck them, they deserve to be farmed for xp. It's not even playing the objective that's their problem. It's utilizing the entire playable space. They just ignore any advice, and run straight up the middle to an objective, to their death. The only time they didn't run into the cap was when they were on defense hiding behind the cap.

At the very least free weekends aren't as bad in RS2 than other RO games because the default class is actually hella effective. Newbie locking specialist classes isn't AS big of an issue. It was horrible in RO2.
Keep in mind the AK 2shots to anything that isn't a critical hitzone or the head. Many times I've been lit up through a wall and hit in the legs/arms

The M60 is the best Assault Rifle in the game baybeee
sometimes as VC on Hue city, I pick up an m60 with a 200 rnd belt and flank like crazy. it's too good.
The M60 with a belt is easily my favourite weapon in the game.
My excitement for the Gameplay Overhaul Mutator being updated soon (hopefully) ranks up there with the prospects of continued updates and support for this game. The mod is seriously so good, and it just hasn't been the same without it.

Am I the only one who has issues with 3rd person sounds, particularly gunshots, being way way too quiet?
Is Squad good? Getting kinda burnt out on RS2 and it seems like a decent equivalant
Not really that similar, Squad is more like Arma. They both have the realistic damage model but Red Orchestra / Rising Storm still has fast-paced gameplay and hidden health regen that Squad does not.

Yes. It started out as a mod, as the article states we were asked to do further work on it and... here we are. It's been quite the journey
