Interesting, what do you mean by "self-cannibalization" in the franchise? Does it mean that they knew how popular Pokemon Go would be, and wanted to avoid it taking over the mainline games?

I'm glad Lavender still has that dreary and depressing mood like gen 1 and 3. I was half expecting them to make a remix that sounds like GSC's mix which was meant to sound calm and ruin the mood it once set.
Lavander 3 years after Red's journey is meant to be different...
I’ve never found a shiny in my life and it makes me sad.
I'm glad Pikasprey ended up doing this but I hope he retires this series after this one. He brings up a very good point halfway through the video when he explains that he's disappointed that the strategy practically devolved into "get ditto to max level and then spam struggle."
I just don't know how I feel about the whole "no battles to capture pokemon" system. It's like, the backbone mechanic of every single mainstream pokemon game so far :|
It's awful. One of the biggest complaints about newer Pokemon games was how extremely easy they were getting. Now with LGPE it's reached a braindead peak where the game might as well play itself because risk is bad and loss conditions are too scary for the playerbase.

At 25:50, Mirror Move won't work without using stat altering moves before it. It is a glitch also present in gen1 where Transform reads volatile party data in a wrong way. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_c7tQkSyz7E
Ditto was always a strange Pokemon with alot of hidden quirks in gen1 and gen2, the most notable thing is when 2 Ditto face off against each other. 14:43 https://youtu.be/jEtJxO4nvv8?t=883
Sorry if this has already been discussed before, but I was just thinking about this earlier today. You can't transfer pokemon from the mainline games into Let's Go!, right? But you'll be able to transfer pokemon from Pokemon Go!. Well, will you then be able to transfer pokemon from Let's Go to the future 2019 title? If so, how will IV's and stuff work? Are they already generated in Pokemon Go, or will they need to be generated in the same way pokemon from gen 1 and 2 games are generated? If not, does this mean that pokemon will forever have this weird sideline series of games that connect to Go?
I mean, you can transfer Pokemon from the original games, which used a pretty different stats system and they convert over to the modern generation, so I doubt it would be hard to convert over Let's Go Pokemon if they do allow for transfers to the next gen Pokemon game.
That's what I'm curious about though. Pokemon converted over to the modern generation are flagged and ineligible for competitions. It basically gimps the pokemon no matter how good it is. Now admittedly I'm fairly sure that has more to do with different movesets between generations. But it still has me wondering if there will be any similar effects to pokemon that need to be transferred over from Let's Go!
Poketransporter basically converts Pokemon into files that are compatible with Pokemon Bank. Just add those two to the switch and you'll have transfers from gen VII to VIII, and from Let's Go to the main series.

Hasn't directed a game since XY, by the way.
I don't know how you would convert the stats into CP. Assuming LGPE is so braindead it doesn't even use stats any more. If that's the case I expect them to also go with the IV system from GO. LGPE still has leveling though so it's hard to tell.
Let's Go uses stats, and even in GO CP is calculated from stats.
Here's the footage for LGPE from yesterday's Treehouse. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YTHsHQYZuyc Two things: there's a Fortune Teller that can adjust what natures are more likely and less likely to be found in the wild, and the box that gives you Meltan can only be gotten once a week.
Ooo, I actually like that nature thing and would like it in a main game, I always think it's a bit of a time waster having to catch like 50 pokemon just to get the nature I might want.
You know Synchronize allows you to control natures since Emerald, right?
Yeah but you also have to get a Synchronize pokemon with the correct nature and that's a ballache too.
I just stuck Abra in the daycare and hatched eggs. Worked wonders to unlock the IV rater app as well.
Let's hope some of these QoL features actually carry over to the next game, and doesn't just get left behind in a game no one is going to play
I love Jame's reaction when they beat him.
everstone + abra + daycare + pokemon of desired nature = free sync statistically you should only need to hatch 2 eggs for it as well if you're brute forcing it rather than using rng like a sane person
I don't like seeing the "bred in a daycare" thing on them. So no, I'm not sane.
no like, you use that to breed a synchronizer which you then rng wild mons with
Not seeing a problem with having more ways to hunt natures.
