Wow, this remix is way better than the original.
The one to the left of Blastoise looks like it was eventually redesigned into Aggron.
Thats a Omaster?! It looks more like proto-Scolipede.

important
Probably recycled into that, yeah. But its either that or what other people are speculating, which is Gyarados, which is even more bizarre
Quick reminder for anyone interested in getting a Melmetal, you've got one more day to get double candy. Just got 160 candy from 20 Meltans.
That thing terrified me in that episode after that point.
The human-like screams were creepy.
And a bit of spoilers for that two parter, but...
Was Dia, the adult trainer with Zeroara, actually an alternate universe Red? There was a picture frame with a young Dia that looked just like Gameboy era Red, and
all of his song accompaniments were variations of the Kanto battle themes, and he did the hat tilt like Red does in Silver/Gold/Crystal.
It literally states "Gyarados" under it, that's why they're saying that. Also, someone made some art for two of those protos:

Oh god Gyarados used to be a lamprey?
Looks like they were uncomfortable with the blatant Shin Megami Tensei inspiration. These guys could appear in water and were also dragons:

Do you know what Pokemon game has a snowy mountain?
That's right.
Kanto 2.0 baybee
Let's Go may not be what people wanted from their first Pokemon game on Switch but it's by no means a bad game.
All I really want from pokemon is new game+
Start the game again, but all your pokemon are saved in your pc box. Badges are reset so they don’t obey you if they are too overleveled. This would let you play through the games with new teams.
I just wonder how they'll attempt to jerry-rig the Mewtwo plot this time round, i mean the previous 2 redux movies just had a different Ash, just with minor elements from the original series. even Lugia was kind of a stretch since it was more of a background thing in the Zeraora movie. i think they'll try for a more darker Mewtwo this time round. maybe integrate Ambertwo into the plot more closely?
Base Lore theory
In the new continuity, Ambertwo's involvement is more direct. maybe there's a whole batch of Ambers that failed, but after obtaining Mew's DNA, a more sustainable clone was produced, was, previously-cloned Ambers were probably not genetically the same and were destroyed in their earliest phases. having a perfectly formed Ambertwo indirectly acted as a restraining bolt to Mewtwo during it's embryonic stage until she died. years of psycho-dampening drugs as well as genetic manipulation caused mutations within Mewtwo. the scientists were simply cloning a Mew, but the circumstances of the clone's genes and origin resulted in a Mewtwo.
The Astroboy-esque backstory
The Mewtwo's backstory would probably be shoved aside slightly, mainly to justify an Proto-Amber's growth (maybe a scientist saved her out of mercy?). Mewtwo would probably have a Berserked state that invokes Mega Mewtwo X, but would be more like a Broly situation. though with the thought that Dr Fuji would throw out imperfect clones (not neserarily deformed or genetically-unstable) of his own dead child would play against his post-TR persona would really make him less of a paragon. or maybe Fuji was stern but ethical, and some other scientist was actually controlling things, something to expand on that Astroboy dynamic.
Or maybe Fuji discovered that even when a Amber finally grew past an infant, he discovered that it'll never be Amber, so their equivalent of Ham Egg (Fuji would be Dr Tenma) pretends that she died, maybe to steal her as a curiosity? probably gets readopted by Fuji after he mellows out, or gets adopted by the Dr Ochanomizu/Elefun analogue. or just goes full Neon Genesis Evangelion with a vat full of Reis/Ambers.
Psycho Prototype Mega Mewtwo X vs Mega Mewtwo Y route
Dare i wonder if they'd attempt to go the Psycho Prototype route? they find Mew's genes, produce a Mewtwo, but instead of this one escaping, this one was frozen and sealed away due to it's unrestrained impulses. Fuji is then recruited, where they attempt to clone Mew a 2nd time, but with the presence of an Amber clone, the Mew clone was sane...but it still results in a Mewtwo. could be an X vs Y thing. though that'd anger the fanbase. or maybe the 2nd Mewtwo escapes with it's own intellect, so they dust off the 1st Mewtwo, now implanted with the top of the line cybernetics (props to the Aether Foundation, a callback to Type: Null) which augments its innate abilities, which it uses to seek the 2nd Mewtwo as a mindless drone.
In comes Ash, maybe he bumps into the Amber clone. maybe the first Mewtwo can detect the Aura signature of the 2nd Mewtwo...except due to Ambertwo's influence, their Auras are near indistinguishable, becoming a threat to the characters. the 2nd Mewtwo probably bumps into Ash+Amber, then attempts to divert the 1st Mewtwo to somewhere remote, where both Mewtwo's fighting invokes the wrath of Mew. who unleashes a movie-exclusive Z-Move or something else happens? you just know they'll start to promote generation 8 sometime before the movie, it's not like they're going to cram it all within 4-7 months before release. a Mega Mewtwo Z just seems a little absurd, eventhough we have Ultra Evolution with Necrozma's Fused form. its either that or Primal Reversion for X/Y.
Or maybe the 1st Mewtwo just Mega Evolves in anger to get a powerboost over the 2nd Mewtwo, which then the 2nd one Mega Evolves in response. maybe one of them dies leaving behind a Clarity Gene/Ultra Mewtwonium? 23rd movie is probably a Entei Redux movie.

Managed to eventually get Meltan and Melmetal over to Let's Go Pikachu, so I went off to finish getting the last three entries for my Dex (being the Dratini line). Ended up getting EXTREMELY LUCKY with the last catch, won't spoil it! Threw this video together because it felt nice to finally complete my first Pokédex, even if it was just the Kanto one.
Master trainers are going to be a bitch to do though, I'm gonna give myself some time before I even think about training to take them on.

“The main entries in the Pokemon game series have always been on handheld systems – from the Game Boy all the way to the 3DS. For this next entry, the Nintendo Switch has a variety of playstyles. While you can still play in handheld mode, you now have the option of playing on a bigger TV screen while in docked mode. Given this new hardware, I’ve found it harder to make a new mainline Pokemon game than I had originally thought. Even as a Pokemon game on the Switch, does it still work? Is it possible for me to make all of those playstyles interesting? I think it’s probably about five times harder than any of you could imagine! (laughs)”
Is there anything interesting to do between defeating the Elite Four and fighting the Master Trainers? Or is it just a straight grind?
master trainers are your end game pretty much.
Game Freak is paranoid at catering to the supposed wants of Japanese children. Creator provincialism is to blame.
Pokemon is not really at the top of their game in that age range, hence the panic in the last years.

Game Freak is starting a new series where they do illustrations on their Youtube channel. Also, James Turner, the guy known for making the ice cream Pokemon but also Guzzlord, Golurk, Trevenant, etc, was promoted to art director/art designer.
Vanilish should had been named Icicleam and that's a fact.
I agree although some people would probably still somehow manage to pronounce it I-Ki-Kleam.
I was sort of hoping TPC would use the game assets to make this set.

I thought wrong.
