???
it could just be for demo purposes
why even bother with the battle system if they are stripping one of the biggest feature
They've stripped plenty of other stuff, wouldn't surprise me if they manage to make it even more braindead.
Honestly, the more I hear about Pokémon LGP/LGE, the less I’m excited for it. It really feels like with how much they’ve attempted to “simplify” things, the whole game is just going to end up really boring.
It's just a side game, I don't think the new game coming out next year is going to be like it.
If they didn't simplify shit this wouldn't be a "side" game
It's a remake, remakes are side games.
Would you really consider Heart Gold/Soul Silver a side game? When I hear that term I think Pokemon Ranger or something along those lines.
Have you guys seen the footage of the diglett cave? With the way encounters work now you can basically run through it without any danger. Any cave or any area you actually had to prepare for is basically a walk in the park now. This game is going to be extremely easy. I still really love the looks of it so I'm going to play it. I'm just more excited for the 2019 game.
Nah man, Pokemon Pinball is my favorite main-series Pokemon game. Really falls in line with the rest of the Pokemon lore.
Yes.
i feel like there's a lot that could be improved with the way these battles are animated. for example, if a pokemon loses all its health, it stays in its idle animation until the textboxes are finished, then faints afterward. it looks unnatural...
The remakes are part of the core series. They are officially stated as such.
The only side games so far to have the same battle mechanics as the core games are the Stadiums and Colosseum/XD.
It's also considered to be part of Gen VII, which would explain why it doesn't look much different from Su/Mo.

My video series on the text LP Let's Horribly Break Pokemon Blue is back. I'd appreciate it if any of you checked it out.
Minor detail in 3.45 if someone was expecting a word about that part, the type1 in .4 is in the group 0x61, being 61 the id for pokemaniac.
Nice touch in adding the explanation about how these games manages to keep running while you punch its memory and vram countless of times. Even the out of bounds exception has its part in gen2.

video seems to not exist.
They probably took it down because they were wrong about where the music was from.

I imagine this is the video?
yeah
ah, Pokedex, a feature I long neglected but still appreciate them constantly being improved.
The game is completely aimed to reach the casual Pokemon Go audience. It's specifically made to get a new target audience that was won with Go and bring them to the Switch with this game.
I think the goal with LGPE is to start the GO audience's standards so low that Gen 8 will look like an absolute masterpiece no matter how it turns out.
I hope gen 8 gives us a complete Pokedex, and not 3/8ths of it (with an update bringing it to half).
I can't imagine LGPE will sell well at all... the people who play and like Pokemon GO don't have much of a reason to buy a version of the game on the Switch when they can have it for free on
their phones. Likewise veterans of the series will have no reason to get it either because it's not a main line Pokemon game and it's too casual.
I doubt LGPE selling poorly. It's on the super popular Switch, full of high-demand features, clicks with GO players, and featuring gen 1 pretty much guarantees nostalgia.
A few friends of mine already plan on buying it, both core and casual fans. It's gonna be a great (re)introductory game on a modern, attractive console.
I'm not interested in it tho
Pokemon games sell well by default, even the spinoffs. Certainly pales in comparison to the main titles, but 1.5 million or more copies for a cheap spinoff really isn't bad. I doubt LGPE will suffer a different fate.
