I'm just curious what a gen 1 meta with new gen moves, abilities, megas, items, z-moves and alolan forms would be like.
RIP Lance and his dragons. Just bring one fairy move lmao
They play it for 6 minutes, get to the starters, then refund the game fuming in rage that their starters aren't Charmander, Squirtle, and Bulbasaur.
it's part of the whole marketing that you start with Pikachu or Eevee because it's a remake of Yellow, which always started you with Pikachu, and your rival would always start with Eevee.
Also, since it's somewhat based of Pokemon Go instead of the main pokemon, you'll likely run into the main starters as wild pokemon.
Remember those Pokemon Gen 2 prototype leaks? (of course you do)
Well, people went ahead and looked through previous footage and found the two scrapped tigers in an interview talking about the development of Gen 1, effectively confirming that they are 100% real:

(Note that the second pic is using the Gen 2 sprites, and that the article already makes it clear that the back sprites and Raitora's front sprite were modified from Gen 1 to Gen 2, but ultimately were cut from both, which is consistent with their code ID placing them among the initial 190 and thus as part of the initial plans for Red, Blue and Green)
This poor guy almost got to be a Pokemon twice.
Man, I would love for Game Freak to release these designs out to the public. Or better yet, do something like the Hyrule Historia and release a book or something going in-depth into the development of Gen I & II.
Ok, can non-obscure outlets like bulbapedia/serebii now stop being paranoid/silent shut about it and add the info as official now or are they still afraid of being sued?
A real wiki would report it, but alas Bulbapedia isn't one.
Serebii could update the Gen I-II subsections with a bit of trivia, that, in the end, wouldn't really mean much.
The Cutting Room Floor, however, will have a field day.
Better, at least.

Incineroar is NU in smogon singles, how is it doing so well in VGC?
Fake Out+Intimidate+Dark type
I'm happy to see Gastrodon finally getting some competetive use, been my favourite pokemon since Platinum.
Forgive my stupid question. But the "Dark" type. That type pretty just means like crime, evil, deception, negativity, pain, malevolence, etc. right? Or is there something I'm missing?
That's pretty much what it is, alongside "dark"/night energy. The typing is called Evil in Japanese, which is probably more appropriate.
Eh, "dark" is better. Rolls off the tongue. Anyway, the fairy type is like the happy goody-goody love love opposite I assume?
Kind of. Moves like Baby-Doll Eyes and Play Rough wouldn't feel out of place with a Dark typing, when Dark has the likes of Fake Tears and Flatter.
There's also some moves based on the moon.
I mean, Absol is a dark type, but it's fluff says that it's actually trying to warn people about upcoming disasters but is misunderstood as causing them.
This is the first time i've heard of this hack, sounds pretty neat

This just makes me question what kind and level of restrictions are Game Freak imposing on themselves, and why.

i bet the shiny chance in that is gonna be like 1/128 or something. way lower than 1/4096
That's incredibly obviously genned if you didn't already know.
I'd get a few just for Pokedex entries in other languages.

US: Gamestop, September 17th to October 7th
UK: Smyths, September 17th to October 15th
rest of Europe: Trainer Club Newsletter email for September
The rumor mill is saying Zeraora is slated for an October release in the West.
The heck is a Poipole?
I really need to finish Moon.
It's USUM exclusive. Also probably the second hardest Gen 7 RNG to pull off RTA after Null.
