I mean the Lets Go Games seem to be especially aimed at younger kids so potentially not. I know I just kind of stuck with my starter for my first pokemon game.
Sure I caught other pokemon, but did I use anything but my Swampert and good old brute force to get me through the entire game? No siree.
Sweet christ what's with these unbalanced trade requests in the GTS? I know I'm late saying that, but it's mostly "give me the most rare thing ever for this level 1 thing I found in the grass!!" Does no one have any concept of balance or being fair?
The trick with the GTS to fill your dex is to breed lots of whatever thing people want (for SM it was Castform for obvious reasons) and then put them up asking for whatever you want. I literally didn't catch more than like 30 things in completing my SM dex, everything came from GTS Castform trades. Everything has basically equal "rarity", you even get two of your cover legend in this gen. Getting stuff in kurt/dream/safari balls is basically the same process but in reverse, you need to just have a lot of different stuff and hope that someone posts what you want.
Honestly the GTS would actually be useful if you could require the thing you're requesting to be in a specific ball/be HA.
I’d rather they replace HMs with just gadgets for the next ones so you don’t need specific Pokémon.
like a machete type thing for cut, jet ski for surf, etc...
Isn't that what it is in Let's Go?
Yeah but they’re tied to the Pikachu and Eevee I wonder how they’ll handle it in the core game.
So in 2 years, HGSS will be older than Yellow was when those came out.
Damn I remember the HGSS release like it was yesterday...
Brock and Misty are coming back again. Unfortunately, Hau is coming too, hopefully he doesn't stick around too long.

That poor Eevee
So if the last post about HGSS and Yellow didn't age you, have a gander at the comments section.

Oh man, I was 12 when Platinum released. 22 now, goddamn.
I still have the preorder figure from gamestop too

And after the 15th, Platinum will be older than Yellow was when Platinum was released.
Shit we've been a long time without a third version... Z should have happened, and USUM would had been fine as a single game.
We need answers! It was so terrible of them to omit Z.
Joe got a first hand experience with LGPE

-no hold items
-no abilities
-IVs are there, but didn't play enough to see if they are unchanged mechanically from the core titles. Still has the physical/special split.
-EXP is more harvested from captures compared to battles. So basically the EXP mechanics from Go.
-You get more Pokeballs after beating a Trainer
-Lures appear to make more Pokemon spawn and Pinap Berries give you a better chance to find an item after a successful capture.
-Some species of Pokemon are docile in the wild, others charge directly for you. One noted unique interaction was Abra, which teleports away if it spots you.
-Eevee's new moves based on the first three evolutions are 90 BP
-The old man who teaches how to catch a Pokemon has been replaced with Jessie, James and Meowth. (what)
-The Pokemon box is in your bag this time, so no running to the PC to change out Pokemon

this game is dead to me
On paper this seems like a good change.

Also I can't figure if EXP-Share if still in or no.
I'm going to be needlessly upset if they remove overworld pokemon and following pokemon from the game for gen 8, and I know they will.
https://youtu.be/jQfhwZykSOc
I don't think that they will remove the overworld Pokemon because it makes the overworld seem more alive. Which is what they probably wanted to do for a long time on Nintendo systems.
Following Pokemon could perhaps be removed because it would require them to do interactions with 900~ Pokemon.
man, i wouldn't mind them trying out excluding some pokemon if it would make a new game much better. i get it, there are fans of every pokemon, and i love a lot of the more esoteric ones, but if they only had to worry about 200-300 they could bring us a more realized world with different overworld behaviors per Pokemon and things like that
Remember that EVERYTHING already has the overworld animations in Gen VII games. Even battle-only formes which lack Refresh animations.
And seriously, Wigtrio is fine but trying to evolve Golbat is a no-no? Crobat has been around for TWENTY FUCKING YEARS.
Hoo boy, looks like Niantic fucked up big time and added the new Pokemon appearing in the new games to Go's network traffic

It's a Ditto with a bolt for a head?
Well uhh, it's sure... something.
I get it might be based on a ferromagnet, but why the grey Ditto body?
After some shoddy no-experience soldering, I've restored my Gen 2 cartridges.

Time for maximum nostalgia.
They're pulling this shit again? HGSS and ORAS got it right by just acknowledging that the Pokemon from that generation evolve, instead of going "WHOOPS IT DONT WORK"
It was dumb in FRLG and now it's embarrassing.
Gen 1 isn't so good and pure that you have to try to pretend other gens didn't happen
You say this, but I've seen a tweet of a person asking for an option to hide every pokemon past Gen 1 in Pokemon GO because they only knew Gen 1 and don't want to see anything that isn't nostalgiapandering.
