i'll never get over people complaining about pokemon just because they're simple or based on objects. i feel like they'd be happier if pokemon was nothing but dragons, eeveelutions, and lucario
I feel like if Garbodor's line looked more like a garbage rabbit -> bear or something along those lines and was less hideous that people would complain about it less. While you could argue that it's point is to be hideous, it doesn't give off the same "cleaner" design vibe as Alolan Muk, which is also supposed to be hideous, but at least feels coherent. For example, if Garbodor evolved into a third stage that had a garbage lid for a shield and wore a trash can as a helmet to look like a combination of military police and
The ice cream line itself would probably get less complaints if they tried to explain why it's a floating ice cream. You could have an ice cream snail and people would go "cool, it's a snail with an ice cream theme!" or you could make it spin like a top to justify it's cone shape, but no. It just floats there with no explanation. Magneton floats because it's a robot, psychic Pokemon and ghosts use extraordinary powers to, but why is an ice cream floating? (and don't say because it's a sundae float). It just seems to exist to be ice cream and not be a monster.
Only reasons I think Pallosand's line and Klefki are disliked from a non-competitive setting is that their eyes are a bit too small to see well on the 3DS properly.
The gear line though is just really underwhelming in design and doesn't change enough as it evolves, so I totally get the hate on that. Even Magneton's line changes more than it does.
vanilluxe and family are icecream-themed icicle monsters
At the very least I could make sense of lesser-liked Pokemons. This new one? I dun get it.
As in: what is it suppose to be?
it's the most simplistic Pokemon I've ever seen, like even the least liked Pokemon designs feel like they have some effort put into them.
This looks like something a child would create as a Pokemon.
Considering the nut, the wire and the silvery appareance, I feel it's meant to be solder.
that or it could be magnetic putty.
So sorry if this information is pretty easy to find, or if people ultimately don't know yet - but I'm going to pick up a modern pokemon game soon, mainly with the intention of using pokemon bank to bring a bunch of older mons from past games into the newer ones to preserve them.
I originally intended to just wait for the new Pokemon Let's Go games to release to transfer them to that, but I'm reading some mixed information on whether or not that would be a good idea. Would I be better off picking up one of the 3DS titles and transferring my mons to that first?
What's the bad intel you've been reading? And what's your plan of transferring your older mons?
As far as anyone can tell yet only the first 151, plus the Alolan forms and whatever they end up calling the new Pokemon that was just teased are only going to be able to be transferred to the Let's Go games. It won't be until the games released next year will you be able to transfer everything to a Switch game, so the best option is to get one of the 3DS games.
Well, mainly lots of shitposting about the more simplistic approach, but I read somewhere that there was a focus on the first generation of Pokemon, and with Let's Go being so different to a mainline pokemon game I wasn't sure if it would actually include the expanded Pokedex of all the newer titles.
As for transferring mons I admit I'm totally out of the loop with the newer features. I heard pokemon bank made the process possible all the way from gen 3, so I was hoping on just picking up a cheap 3DS and whatever games I need to do that. I have a copy of Soul Silver and a copy of Alpha Sapphire hanging around somewhere, will those two games be enough to extract a party from a gen 3 title? On top of that, I have a run of that Crystal Clear romhack that I'm nearly completed, I heard with some homebrewing I can transfer my pokemon from that to the modern titles using the e-store.
I know that I could probably find most of this info myself but honestly there's like a dozen different transfer methods and all the newer games tend to blur together for me. I just basically want to know if Let's Go will be the modern title to wait to transfer my mons to, or if there'll be a more relevant game out to do so.
Pokemon Let's Go only supports the first 151 Pokemon, and their alolan forms. so if you do want to preserve your Pokemon on some physical copy of a game, then you'd likely want UltraSun/UltraMoon, as those have the most up to date dexes at this time.
Is Let's Go releasing next year? I thought it was releasing by the end of this year. Either way, thanks for the info, that speculation about the first 151 pokemon and their Alolan forms is what is mainly concerning me.
Pokemon Alpha Sapphire would be enough to cover you up to Gen 6
Ah okay, thanks. So Alpha Sapphire has access to Pokemon Bank, and will let me take mons all the way from gen 3, as well as access an e-store version of Crystal? I might pick up UltraSun/Moon anyway just for the sake of staying up to date.
Thanks for all the info guys. Also my B about the misread.
e-store GB/GBC pokemon can only be transferred to Sun/Moon and UltraSun/UltraMoon if I'm not mistaken. I could be mistaken.
Dump the save and transfer them that way then.
I don't want to jinx it but something came to me and I fear this will be the case:
What if this new pokemon is actually an ultra beast (thus unbreedable) that's exclusive to LGPE?
Picking up a copy of Ultra Sun/Moon it is, then. I'm not too interested in playing the newer titles but I'm in the middle of a serious pokemon nostalgia rush. I remembered my old copy of emerald with a bunch of cool mons. The Jirachi from the pokemon channel ending, the Ho-oh from actually completing the 100 trainer battle mountain. Even my original part of EV-trained try-hard mons. It's gonna be fun bringing them into the newer games, and, I dunno, petting them?
You'll have to go through the bs of using a DS to transfer them from the GBA games to Diamond/Pearl/Platinum/HG/SS, then transfer to Black/White or Black2/White2 using Transfer Lab. You can then extract the pokemon from BW/BW2 using the Pokebank Transporter.
Easier method for this. is have a hacked 3DS, and install PKSM (PokeSaveManager) which bypasses the need for Black/White/Black2/White2 and lets you transfer straight out of the Gen4 games directly to it's own local bank storage, or onto SM/USUM
I'm so glad you mentioned this because I'm going to hack the 3DS I'm planning to buy, and the legitimate method sounds like a hassle. Does this method affect pokemon legitimacy though? Will I be able to go online and battle and stuff? Or does homebrewing lock this off entirely?
It shouldn't effect playing online or make the pokemon delegitimate as long as you're not messing with the values. However, nintendo seems to be catching on to hacked 3DS systems a bit more nowadays.
Nutto was spotted or leaked w/e during one of the Pokemon Go Fests right?
IIRC during the catacylsmic fuckup that happened during the last Pokemon Go fest wasn't Unnown supposed to spawn there? Is this a reference to that?
Nutto kind of looks like a man-made Unnown
na just downloading off of their servers, they can't catch you otherwise.
Ultra Beasts are just coded as legendaries tho.
And, in any case, there is always shit like Nidorina and Nidoqueen, which cannot breed because code shit in GS and TRADITION.
Nut boy name dropping soon.

Sounds like a hot chocolate brand

The name gives me deja vu, I was right about the type but RIP evos since this is a 600 BST legend
It's also categorized as a mythical, so it's a special giveaway Pokemon.
No way that sounds dumb as hell. I like Garbodor’s design. You gonna tell me my garbage boiz are more hideous grimmer and fugly ass muk? Their Alolan forms are just shitty reskins.
Trubbish is cute as heck and Garbodor is goofy but he in’t ugly.
