Overwatch- After 2 long years, Symmetra is finally good.

It's literally involves someone coping with their experiences in a war, and violently bursting out when reminded of them their war experiences. It doesn't necessarily have to be about PTSD, there's multiple interpretations, but this condescending "if you disagree with me you're just making shit up" crap you're doing is ridiculous. The connection is really easy to see.
sorry if this has been answered, i didn't see it in the OP, but is there an FP overwatch discord server?
There is but its not active in the slightest.
Uhh. Okay. You might notice I didn't quote you in that post; it wasn't directed at you specifically, my apologies if it seemed like it was.
I don't speak lightly of PTSD either, as both of my parents struggle with combat flashbacks in their old age. I'm just a little exhausted, seeing the specific condition thrown around as a generic term for undesired impulsive behavior brought on by a specific stimulus. PTSD is a significantly more complicated affliction and affects almost every aspect of a person's mental process to some degree. Also PTSD isn't necessarily about war; victims of physical or intense psychological abuse suffer all the same, and often with less recognition or sympathy thanks to those who flippantly use the condition to describe related - though no less valid - things such as anxiety or panic disorder.
That being said, me personally... My mind didn't instantly jump to PTSD. This is a robot that only knows combat, that's all he was built to do and would likely die doing it. This highly capable combat unit, equipped with multiple heavy weapons, hears what its logic can only assume - due to a lack of information outside of combat - is gunfire, and takes the exact action one would expect, though something about him is different somehow, and he's able to not only stop himself, but briefly feel remorse for what he'd done. The flashback he underwent was voluntary as well, reading the memory of another fallen Bastion unit and making a logical conclusion based on that as well.
What sets him apart though, is his ability to STOP this reprehensible course of action, to CHOOSE to no longer be the monster he was built to be.
I see more of a parallel between him and the gravely unfortunate use of child soldiers; both were built to die, to be nothing but single-minded combatants... But both may yet have a chance at normal lives one day, if given the right care.
Oh thank fuck, for some reason that sentence seemed like you could interpret it as "her hacking YOU interrupts YOUR reload".
Question: Do endorsements give you anything of value or do they just act as literal good boy points? I keep getting them whenever I go tank/healer (so pretty much every time i play something that isn't Deathmatch) so that is why I am asking.
Pretty much just advertises to people that you receive endorsements. What they make of it and whether or not you actually earned them is another thing entirely. (I've accidentally given out "Shot-caller" to people who weren't even in voice-chat, for instance)
You need to play an a considerable amount of time to level to anything above level 1 I would say mean the team-mate is at least somewhat non-toxic/competent. Remember, you can see in the circle how many shot-callers/good team-mates any given person have. Sportmanship basically means nothing since people hand them out like candy, expecially in comp elimination.
You can be a shot caller without using chat. Like starting a push with sound barrier or a well-placed ult.
The point is I didn't intend to give him "Shot Caller".
Overwatch Hanzo Statue | Blizzard Gear Store
all for the low low price of $175
Evil healing lady + good flying healing lady = best girly heal squad
They combo really feckin' well
Also, feck Mei, I'm a Mercy Main now
I'm surprised to see Hanamura so high on that list
that poll isn't a good indicator of the actual favourite to least favourite maps, you'd have to have preferential voting to do that
I give sportsmanship to people in my match that stand out as highly skilled, because it's the only one I can give to both teams.
the LFG system has massively improved the people I match with. I clawed my way out of bronze thanks to it.
They should have a "worthy opponent" kind of thing you can only award the other team. That will be a pretty good indicator of skill as well!
"Team Leader", "Friendly Ally", and "Skilled Player". Phrasing is important.
Seeing a high "Team Leader" rank brings to mind charisma and confidence, whereas "Shot Caller" sounds a little blunt, like they're just gonna bark orders at you.
As I understood it, it's less "barking orders" and more
You where the one who made the biggest contribution to the team
The one that held the point, when everyone else died
Those that actually stick to the payload
Your Ult managed to stop the enemy pushing forward
Etc
Unrelated, but how in the frick-frack-paddy-whack am I meant to get HUGE REZ now they changed the rez system.
It's fucking impossibly hard
Play quickplay, since people are tryharding less it'll probably be easier compared to comp.
Stay back as much as possible, never putting yourself in danger. Run away if you have even the slightest chance of dying. Only rez if you're 100% sure you won't die. Never take any chances.
Speaking of difficult achievements, a bunch of them just got easier since Symmetra can be constantly teleporting people and teleporters are placed more aggressively so both her personal achievement and the general achievement for destroying 3 enemy teleporters are much more doable now.
I was worried that reducing her number of turrets would make Winston's Minesweeper achievement impossible but now he can sweep actual mines from Hammond's ult so that one is much easier too.
I can't seem to not be in a match where the winning team mentions something about "being salty" as well as "eggs". No matter how old is gets.
I don't normally shit talk individual players but uh, imagine being so bad that as a reaper you get less damage than a moira who has 8k heals on a 2 round CTF and then flame them...

I never get people who act like moira cant heal while throwing purple balls out. Thats what got me chat banned for mocking the DPS/sniper not out dpsing the healer and tank.
I’ve met some insane support players with the LFG thing. Zenyatta main who played frontline and was basically a dps, winning 1v3 and even won a 1v1 against a roadhog
i met a Moira player who was a major flanker, yet somehow managed to put out some major fucking heals. I swear their teleport thing was never on cool down because they could dash in, focus down a healer w damage orb and damage primary, get the kill and dash out and heal the team up.
He probably shot himself after angrily "last word leaving" that game because the butthurty feeling was too great to bear.

Screw the Arcade, I'm gonna farm boxes by being nice and cooperative
I don't really put any stock in this system when plenty of people with high levels are still assholes.
I've just reached level 17 and I'm already at endorsement level 2
I don't think people really care about it. I think to some people it's just something else to do while you wait for the match to close..
