It seems like an incredible amount of work to fix a problem that doesn't exist. Adding loadouts just because TF2 had them throws the core concepts behind the games design out the window. Each character in OW is far more rigid in their intended use and that's deliberate on the part of Blizzard. Like why go to the effort of creating a set of items that turn soldier 76 in a full support when you can just pick a support character.
Paladins' loadouts work for Paladins because it was designed for it since the beginning. Throwing it into OW just because the other game does it won't automatically make it good and would have to require a ton of changes just to make a system the game wasn't designed for potentially work.
OW has been a balance nightmare since the beginning, adding loadouts would make it even worse.
Yeah I think bringing in loadouts will wreck with the sort of rock paper scissors balance that blizz have tried to cultivate.
Healer Soldier was an intentionally goofy example of a loadout that would be funny but impractical sorry if that wasn't more apparent in my previous post, but I agree that it's not something that's actually needed, just potential for a silly side game mode
Hey don't go bashing Paladins now.
You're right its unfair to bash on Paladins especially when its doing cool unique stuff like a battle royale mode. Jeff Kaplan better be taking notes!
At least they listened to the community and separated it to two different games.
At least Paladins doesn't shove its esports down your throat when both this and it are painfully obvious that they're casual as fuck.
I've been doing some arcade matches in the past few days out of sheer boredom and recived plenty of reccomendations (especially in the good teammate and sportmanship department) seemingly at complete random. You guys will most certainly remember that I've called this a long time ago
Did you receive them when you were blatantly toxic? If not, there's no problem.
I recive them without tiping a single word in any chat whatsoever, nor by taking part into any voice chat.
There's nothing wrong with it, else they wouldn't have implemented it this way. As long as the endorsement levels give a rough indiciation (yes, it's not 100& perfect) whether someone is toxic or not, it's fine. As Jeff Kaplan posted in the forum, since the update the toxicity decreased (also in my own experience), so it definitely helped.
Saying nothing is still being not toxic.
Not having voice chat is fine as long as you're in the team chat and responding to call outs and feedback by those who do have voice chat and generally sticking with the team coordination. Nothing gets me tilted at someone who never joins voice chat, autolocks dps regardless of the comp, and is always 50 feet away from the rest of the push at all times.
i faced the following team comp and now want to die: orisa hog ana brig mccree mei i was actually stunned the whole fucking game. They were a 6 stack and had good coordination. hog would reel you in, orisa kept movement heroes still, ana slept, brig stunned, mccree flashbanged, and mei froze. It was fucking horrible. Every time I got hooked into their fucking black hole of stun i just took my hands off my keyboard. Zarya and orisa worked well for a little against them, but they usually just burned through each bubble or kept orisa trapped enough for her immunity to end.
I am being kicked from so many party-up queues for maining Lucio, even though my winrate with him borders on 60%. Back to solo-queing and one-tricking Junkrat I guess.
i have yet to experience a game where someone on my team uses voice chat. incredibly frustrating because when you try to use voice chat they all just jump out of the channel.
Or when you have a mic, and you're the only one in the chat
Update - Wrecking Ball has been released on live - Several heroes have received major changes to their damage falloff Bastion Configuration: Sentry and Configuration: Recon - Minimum damage at max range increased from 30% to 50%. McCree Peacekeeper - Minimum damage at max range increased from 30% to 50% Mei Endothermic Blaster - Removed all damage falloff from her secondary fire projectile Soldier: 76 Heavy Pulse Rifle - Minimum damage at max range increased from 30% to 50% Widowmaker Widow's Kiss - Now has damage falloff applied on her automatic primary fire (50% at max range) - Hero Changes Hanzo Storm arrows - Duration reduced from 6 to 5 seconds - Cooldown increased from 8 to 10 seconds Sombra Stealth - Now lasts indefinitely - No longer can contest objectives while invisible - Enemy detection radius increased from 2 meters to 4 meters - Movement speed buff decreased from +70% to +50% Translocator - Now lasts indefinitely - Can now be destroyed (has 5 health) - Map Updates Assault Maps When final objectives on non-control maps are contested for extended amounts of time and attackers have an advantage in numbers, the respawn time for defenders now increases even faster Objective time reduced from 5 minutes to 4 minutes per control point in Quick Play and Arcade modes [...] The reduction in time is now consistent with the Competitive Play times which provides an ample amount of time for both attackers and defenders, but hopefully removes the occasional game where it feels like you are playing against the timer and not the other team. https://blizztrack.com/patch_notes/overwatch/latest https://playoverwatch.com/en-us/news/patch-notes/pc
I don't understand their philosophy on Storm Arrows. 'Concentrated shooting' must be the basis of his design because he is a sharpshooter, right? Would it not make more sense to reduce the amount of Storm Arrows and keep the duration as it was before the change? It would make players shoot less spontaneously, and consuming charges would be less forgiving. I have about 400 hours on Hanzo and it feels so stupid, especially with the hit-box of his arrows.
Just caught up with the thread, can’t believe I read posts bashing blizzard for reworking Torb he can have his rare moments on defence on certain maps where his ult is strong, but otherwise he’s extremely niche if you seriously think he’s fine, take a step back out of whatever SR bubble you’re in and look at his impact on the game as a whole rather than your own personal experiences
It's not that he's fine, it's that Blizzard's ideas/suggestions in the article are terrible.
https://twitch.amazon.com/prime/loot/overwatch Get 2 "wrecking ball" lootboxes with amazon prime. I'd assume they're boxes with hammond items only plus, a gold lootbox in September and one in october
Wait, is Hammond even in the regular game? I thought he was still in PTR only.
No, people we’re literally complaining that he’s being changed at all
The detection radius is incorrect. It is still 2 meters, as it was reverted in a PTR patch after the initial one. This has just been a copy/paste.
Those sombra changes are fantastic, so many times I've thrown the translocator only for it to run out of time because I had to wait for some reason. That mei change though, confirmed counter to pharah now is there anything that Satan spawn cannot do?
I'm not sure I understand the reason for those damage falloff changes, especially the Mei one, it's just gonna make stray bullets deal more damage and lead to bullshit deaths from undeserved headshots.
I think it was supposed to remedy the widowmaker problem.
