The finals were truly something.
I stopped by a sports bar to grab some wings when the OWL finals were airing. They were playing on ESPN in the bar. I didn't even make my order before I heard someone say "What is this dogshit? I'm taking the remote," and switched it to baseball. FeelsBad

To be fair, Overwatch isn't the best example to show to a person who has never watched e-sports before.
Can you imagine watching something fast paced like OWL without any knowledge about Overwatch?
What is that fairy girl doing? Is there a difference between yellow and blue beams? Can't she just fly up there? Why is that robot pilot out of her pink robot? What is an ultimate? That horse robot can turn gold, what does that do? Stun? Wait, they have to push something?
Compared to more straightforward games like say CS:GO;
Which is a lot less hectic, where the teams are Terrorists vs Counter-Terrorists, players use 'normal' weapons and the objective is to plant/defuse a bomb.
They actually had little clips breaking down basics during breaks in the finals, for that reason.

Why does hacking a Bastion return him to the sentry form, but if you hack him while he's in Tank mode, he gets to keep the form?
While Bastion is in sentry form, he is technically 'channeling' the ability, of which can be interrupted just like any other channeling ability (i.e Reinhardt's charge). This is why - for instance - Roadhog's hook can bring him out of turret mode.
Bastion's Tank mode however, is considered a 'transformation' ult, similar to Genji's Dragonblade or Soldier 76's Tactical Visor. These are ults that cannot be interrupted by hack or any stun.
Hack will interrupt and cancel any ability / ult that is considered channeling, which is why it can cancel ults such as McCree's High Noon, Roadhog's Whole Hog, Moira's Coalescence, and if you can pop a hack off on him, Reaper's Death Blossom.

There was a PTR leak of a Sombra skin for it this year. Its just a Rare with the Mexican flag on her gun similar to the others.

So for some reason, after not playing a season of competitive since season 6 where I was low diamond, after I completed my placements for this season I got placed mid masters. How does that work? I've still been playing a fair amount of quick play, does that factor in too?
and also I didnt believe people when they said masters is no better an experience than diamond or plat but god damn it they were right

Good news: My win rate with Lucio is a fair bit higher (60%) than the average according to overbuff (50%)
I never understood why people do that. Once they play against low sr players they're just going to steamroll back to their normal sr.
That's the point, some people love the power trip of winning match after match because they get queued against vastly inferior players.
Yeah I get that part. It just seems like so much work for just being able to stomp a few matches.
