Killing Floor V11 - Upgrade to make your 9mm stronger than a 12G shotgun

KF1 had the humor and charm to go with it
KF2 never had that
It's almost like they're different games WHOA FUCK ME RIGHT?!?!?!?!?1111
well I thought they wanted to go for a more serious tone in 2
I was wrong
KF2's cosmetics also look rigged incorrectly and I don't know how to explain it. It's like they choose random models and then just kinda connect them to one bone.
I'm just waiting on Mrs. Foster to be allowed to use Mr. Foster cosmetics. Cause why the hell can I still not do that?
it's almost like objectively inferior is a thing!!!!!!!!
To be fair - the pseudo cockney accents and quips kept me playing KF1 longer than I would have without them.
I miss them in KF2...
I've said it before and I'll say it again: KF1 had this great charm where the cheesy over the top voices completely juxtaposed the gritty, bleak, desolate atmosphere the rest of the game had. KF2 has seemingly done the opposite, where the world doesn't seem too bad, but the vast majority of the characters are just I AM A ANGRY SHOUTY SERIOUS MAN.
KF1 to KF2 suffers the same thematic issues Left 4 Dead went through going to 2.
A bleak setting with bleak characters occasionally acting goofy to break the bleakness > A wacky setting with wacky characters occasionally acting serious to break the wackiness.
One is pretty plausible, the other is just "ha ha VIDEO GAMES."
yea, thats exactly why, hard is a completely different ball game compared to hell on earth
now admittedly to myself, I haven't really played since a bit after launch, due to lack of interest from friends and later (now) a broken computer, but unless you have a good team you are threatened 99% of the time past wave 1, and a single scrake could end an entire team extremely quickly
but if you have a reasonable team it would be piss easy outside of maybe one or two clutch waves with multiple fleshpounds, and the boss where you'd have 2-3 people running around constantly to grab ammo, because as you said, their dynamic lighting stuff never really worked out, because you'd be camping in wide open spaces with room to escape, which would be spaces with natural lighting that couldn't be destroyed by a single siren on wave 2
I honestly think the rougher graphics of KF1 we're a big part of the "bleak atmosphere".
That's how its always worked in both games.
the black guy is such an uninspired boring character
you can't? and they wanted $10 for her?
I just wish there were more characters like the ones in killing floor 1.
One of the reasons I was hyped for Killing floor 2 was the fact they were giving each character their own lines and personalities.
I thought back to all the funny little back stories of all these quirky British characters like wannabe super heroes, half undead security guards, washed up rock stars, football hooligans, palace guards, homicidal firemen, criminal executioners and gormless fucking chavs- and imagined how great it would be to see them fleshed out and given more character.
And then barely any of the interesting ones actually ended up in the game- and the ones that did were given new, frankly bland, back stories that lacked the humorous tone I enjoyed so much in the first game.
And then despite promising more characters after release, most of the original cast just get lame homage cosmetics put into the game's microtransaction lootboxes.
Just sticking a welding mask cosmetic into the game and expecting people to pay real money for it isn't the same as actually having Foundry Worker Aldridge as his own dlc character for example.
I'm still waiting on a medic character, but then there's the problem of getting a voice actor.
Also, my luck is definitely long gone now after this.

Police Sergeant Davin, aka gasmask cop, is my KF spirit animal. The backstory they gave him is just pitch perfect for the voice, like he just doesn't give a shit anymore. Too bad they fucking replace everyone with Mr. Foster. Why is Mr. Foster so significant? Where's the love for gasmask cop?
I just play with the two Classic characters. Can't beat "Toasty Time!" or "50 caliber fun time". The addition of "You got a license for that?!" was a nice touch.
DJ Scully's my go-to. I like his up-beat personality and his design.
I choose what character to play based on what the arm viewmodels look like.
riot helmet + ski mask (alternatively gs9 mask for the rich folk) classic briar is the best
it's a shame that you can't wear kevlar helmet and the gas mask on classic masterson
With console commands you can wear both on classic masterson, as far as I know it's not been patched out. Though the steam guide describing it was taken down for some reason.
yeah well it looks ugly and clipping, thats the problem
So basically Ana.
I like Rae, but I swear if I hear "Tomatoes!" one more time I'm gonna lose it

FEED ME
Rae's a fucking meme character and is everything bad about Killing Floor 2 in my opinion, she's so far detached from the world it's really annoying.
I found a great custom map, KF-FirstWorldBankV2.
All seems well at first, a semi decent remake of it using solely KF2 assets, plays pretty good, looks somewhat nice.
But then you realize that oh, the map spawns everyone with a fully loaded M16-M203 entirely breaking the early flow of the game and snapping some custom gamemodes in half.
And then the boss spawns and you see this amazing sight.

And then you get stuck inside of a potted plant wedged next to a book case and then basically become a player controlled turret that has to throw their guns and dosh at their teammates to get ammo after each wave.

that map killed my framerate when I played it way back when. wonder if it's been optimized
