Don't you remember Steamland?
Beta is open now guys I like the change for the Zedeconomy, but why the hell the duplicate rule doesn't apply for the Vault crates?
Either because it's free (an incentive to use the paid-for crates), or they don't have plans to add any new items to the vault crates so the system would break because you'd end up getting everything and be left with a huge backlog of crates with guaranteed dupes.
But they keep adding more items in the Vault Crate, it doesn't make any sense, considering we have more than 40 items, including variations. It has way more items than the USB and it could make a good use of this system. And they added even more items for it in the beta: Dosh Vault Added more Tier 3 weapon skins Increased Vault Dosh capacity to 600 million I don't see this being an incentive since the contente of each crate, Vault and the USBs, are different, each one having different theme and types of items in it. Anyway here is the changelog
The only items being added to the vault crate iirc is vosh skins for weapons that don't already have them. Dupe protection on Vault crates would also go against their design - since they're not tradable and you can craft 2 of any Vault item (or 1 of any precious quality) to get another roll, there's no pressing reason to make dupe protection, because dupe protection is already there. You get the flowers Ana face paint or vault pajamas again? Play a bit, get another vault crate, and recycle the two items. Hell, you just have to play through a weekly to immediately get another vault crate. Do I agree with this philosophy for the vault crates? Not really, I think all of the non-weapon items are gaudy, ugly, unfitting, poorly designed pieces of shit that nobody in their right mind would wear unless it's literally the only cosmetic they've ever gotten. I would much rather they be taken out of the crate entirely and the crate be focused on more cool weapon skins. But it's not like they vault crate system is absolutely useless. They just need to finally fix the "vault crates only show up if you restart your game or a start a new match) bug and it'll be an absolutely fine loot system.
What? Just because they are not tradable doesn't mean that it doesn't require a dupe protection, especially on a crate that it has more than 40 items in that and certain items have a random drop rate for some odd reason. Even in crafting this rule still applies: you got Ana's facepaint and one panjama, make it into dust, then craft and get another facepaint that you already have because for some reason they have a higher drop rate than the rest of the items. Get other items is not as simple as you say so because the RNG is badly implemented. And like i stated, even with a dupe protection it would require a fuck ton of farming of Vosh to get most if not all single items because wear conditions affect this system too. So this means the player would need to keep playing daily, doing daily challenges and the weekly for a very long time. I mean right now is a pain in the ass and such a bad reward for doing tasks, is not rewarding for all the effort you need to put, having the dupe limit would only make it less painful but still annoying
by the way, the "no dupe" system accounts for weapon skin wares to. Just got a battle scarred husk cannon, a field tested husk cannon and a mint husk cannon, all in a row. Very epic, thank you tripwire :downs:
Better than getting 3 field tested ones i guess.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gfpJn5A2bf8 Can't decide whether I'd love it or hate it they start bringing in random ass celebrities like Payday 2 did.
As long as the voice talent is actually trying and not just being there for the paycheck I don't think it really matters. As long as KF2 doesn't get it's own Rust, who sounds bored out of his mind and won't stop cussing, from celebs like Ron Perlman, it should be fine.
Just as long as the talent have enthusiasm in the work Im keen for it.
this is even more surprising than the last beta, this time there's real placeholder animations! otherwise the m32 is pretty fun
Fire-axe doesn't set enemies on fire (which is even a joke in the weapon's description), so it's just a slightly stronger but slower katana but why would you use it over the katana. Tommygun has a huge-ass magazine so it's fun.
Wasn't really an issue besides Ron Perlman being a cocksugga about it Gary was already in Hitman with Gary Cole, and he seems like he has fun. One time I tried to find how you go about hiring him and it seemed like he would be pretty cheap to get. He's also not known to be a snarky asshole like Perlman.

One change that irks me in this beta, how poison afflictions (Elite Crawlers, Medic's Nades, etc.) applied on ZEDs now induces panic. (AKA, Medic's Acidic Rounds.) Being a medic main, this is gonna be frustrating for my Sharp/Gunslinger teammates... it's like I'm a pseudo-Firebug.
Santa's Workshop looks like it's pretty unoptimized.
Is it just me or do Crawlers in Hard tend to dance around to avoid gunfire a lot more? Doing the weekly and spraying a Tommy Gun at a Crawler's head caused it to continuously dart left and right and sometimes pounce around to avoid being hit. Was very annoying and some AI behavior I haven't seen before.
yeah crawlers like to dance around a lot. Is your flashlight on? iirc flashlight increases a zed's chance to block/dodge
Well fuck me sideways and call me a bitch, that explains a lot.
We all know the game needs Ethan and Hila. Lol.
The update is okay I guess. Kind of disappointed that Tripwire keeps pushing the "Objective Survival" instead of just releasing a full blown objective mode. Maybe next year...
The map just spawns sleighs on those tracks on the floor. They'll glow green on the sides to indicate what track the sleigh is taking. And you gotta deliver them all with full HP by welding them along their journey while protecting them from attacking zeds who can destroy it. If you can manage to get all the sleighs in a game delivered with full HP, that's one of the seasonal objectives done. Apparently in my last game I didn't get it because a Siren took a sliver of health off the sleigh just as it delivered even though I was welding it. Fuckin' noisy twats.
Anyone notice a performance drop this beta patch? I get a stable 144fps then 3-4 mins into a wave it'll drop to 100 then dip as far as 60. Used to never go below 120.
Tips: Do The Perfect Gift in a 4 wave Normal game by yourself or with others. Was easy for myself as a 25 Berserker. That task is bugged and pops on Normal. As for killing 25 bosses, just do the first 4 waves of Normal Endless in KF-Killzone or some shit, switch to Sharpshooter the 5th round and get a Railgun then just pick the boss off from up top. Rinse and repeat 25 times. Battleaxe is 2000 dosh, has a high weight, no upgrades. Swings slow but does a good chunk of damage. With all perks on the right (my personal perk choice for Berserker) it becomes much more bearable to use and is great for taking out large zeds. It may work well with some of the left perks like boosted HP + HP regen on kill and perhaps the parry bonus or the strong attack stun boost perk.
High Weight No Upgrades Slow to Swing So you go after bigger Zeds then when using it?
No upgrades and high weight apply to all tier 5 weapons (any weapon that costs $2k)
The idea that Tier 5 weapons are just powerful but only allow you to have that weapon alone, it kinda dumb, why have a Boomstick and something else when there's a Tier 5 shotgun (hypothetically speaking) that can demolish everything? Who cares if it's the only thing you can carry when it turns even Fleshpounds into paste. I'd rather mix and match weapons than just have a single powerful weapon, especially if you're Demo', where one weapon can take ages to reload whereas a less powerful one doesn't, if I'm stuck with a single weapon that takes like 10 seconds to reload, fuck you, I ain't using that shit.
What's a good loadout for Demo? Just started playing KF2 after playing KF a bunch some time ago. RPG + Deagle?
I usually see people running RPG + M79 loadout, but honestly, that loadout is boring. If you want to focus to kill big guys, especially FPs and to some extend, scrakes. You can try RPG + C4, but you've got to be careful as you cant really spare to use all that on trash. Recently i've edged myself to S6 + C4 and (in beta) M32 + C4 loadouts, switching the main weapon to RPG on boss wave. And if you don't know, demo's grenade can stun scrakes and fps (if they aren't raged).
