A lot of people seem to forget that this existed for Killing Floor 1 and that it was somehow better than Killing Floor 2's microtransactions, when it was actually worse, the skins available in KF2 are worse though without a doubt, but at least they're not game changing.
I stopped playing KF1 because I didn't want to deal with all the paywalls locking away new weapons. I fucking hate KF2's microtransactions as well but at least I don't feel like I'm missing out on content.
The only thing I don't like about KF2's microtransactions is the fact the 'free' cosmetics that are given from doing weeklies are almost all gold whilst the paid are actual cosmetics. Like gold is meant to be a bragging rights item, a rich guy's item. But most matches have so many cheese armor + golden hat players that it's a tiny bit immersion breaking. Hell I'd rather those wierd midget things on everyones backs than every player to be glowing cheese. I get this is a way to encourage people to buy cosmetics or grind it out for the vault boxes. But it's so jarring that gold is the poor guy's cosmetic of choice.
Kf2's cosmetics totally work against it, I feel. Like, none of the characters ever feel like they'd ever wear or care for such things in the middle of a battlefield. Tf2's ludicrous hats are believable in its setting, but its a total eye-sore in a game like KF2, where they feel shoe-horned in more than anything and not given a proper, believable reason to exist

yeah, and twi themselves said they were actually losing money on transactions due to cc fees lol
and they were also just low-quality models without any themes, the prices became $5 for a pack of 4 when they started doing themes (like steampunk) and more interesting characters
Beta for the new patch is live. Notable changes n ot already documented include getting rid of Demo's Frag Rounds -damage downside (so now it solely increases AOE radius). Might be interesting to see if the Demo loadouts shift around at all, such as a theoretical M79-focused loadout.
Literally been asking they remove Frag rounds' damage penalty since they introduced demo. Thank god

Will definitely be using frag rounds now- i usually don't get caught out by sirens much these days.

So now Frag Rounds is a viable choice, well then.
This new main menu sound track's giving me some Doom 2016 vibes. A nice change from the default one that we've had. And that frag rounds buff is far better in practice than it seemed at first, only need to adjust where to shoot at when too many zeds gang up on you.
What's the optimal size team for HOE? I love playing on servers with 4 or 5 people, but I usually just go solo offline for times sake.
I'm not sure if the Husk cannon is really that powerful or is the shrapnel skill that is giving a slight buff but holy shit, it packs a punch now. Also firebug rifle is quite good, only wish it had a feel more ammo and was a Commando cross-perk. Is stupid not being a cross-perk weapon
So far with KF2's beta I've been enjoying it, but I've noticed a new bug involving the Steam layout. For example: If you're busy waiting for a round to end and are watching videos in the mean time, then spawn back in and tab out of the Steam overlay you will instantly hear the Scrake/FP alert sounds, but before they finish up if you tab in and out of the overlay they will repeat again and again until you let the sounds finish . Plus there's another bug I encountered that involved getting the new Firebug rifle and the Flamethrower, but not having access to my pistol/knife whatsoever as they just disappeared for me.
No. Just no.Commando has enough cross perk weapons. Like holy shit, almost every cross perk weapon the commando can use has been nerfed because of the commando. In return, it has made those crossperk weapons suck for the intended perks to use. Let the firebug keep his toys to himself, he already has issues with the incendiary shotgun being a better choice on a Support perk over him.
The Helios Rifle I can see getting nerfed, increase in recoil, decrease in damage, it's a pretty powerful weapon right now. Frag' Rounds are really fun to use, the increase in AoE is a lot of fun, using the M79 at a crowd and just watching Zeds that are quite a distance away getting destroyed, it's hilarious.
After all this time waiting for an electricity gun the Killerwatt is incredibly disappointing. It's literally just another projectile gun, same with the Helios, and the channeled attack doesn't really do anything either. I feel like there's a lot of creative way they could handle the mad science weapons but they don't want to bother implementing new mechanics. Like, make the ice from the Freezethrower slip zeds or make the channeled attack from the Killerwatt mass stun small zeds.

I'm pretty convinced that the M79 is the best Demo weapon, upgraded it really just shits on the other weapons.
The general reception seems to be that the Helios Rifle is easily one of the stronger weapons added but the Killerwatt is super underwhelming and boring. Also, bit of a leaky faucet here, somebody on the subreddit found a model (and animations in the comments) of a Medic Bat weapon, meaning we are in fact getting a Medic/Zerk crossperk melee weapon in the near future. Maybe they intended to push it out with this update, but were just out of time/too lazy?
