and then i go back to the main menu

Sounds like an issue you should contact TWI about, especially since i think it's fair to say none of us here know how to solve the problem.

Commando doesn't "extend" zed time, he resets it with every kill, even though it's referred to as extension, so idk if that matters at all
Again we can't really help you then, the most I could do is suggest going on reddit or the TWI forums and messaging a mod or admin on one of those.
