I think his design is fine, seems kind of like a natural progression to Evil Ryu's design. Giving me some some Oni vibes as well.
Aren't there like 20 evil ryus already
you realize the kage is literally originally called "evil ryu" in previous titles, right? yeah, that's kinda the point of the character. he's ryu but having fallen victim to the satsui no hado.
apart from the naughty devil horns i dig it
Evil Ryu manages to be a better design than this by being a damn upgraded and touched up recolor with torn clothes. They completely butchered the design, it's like they looked at Oni and took only the edgy parts and not the cool aspects and then slapped it onto the general incompetence that has been many of Street Fighter V's models (especially in regards to Ken and Akuma). Just compare it to these two and tell me it isn't a thousand-times worse and middle school-worthy in terms of aesthetic: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uEzO3gVryyU
i dunno man, i dont mind it.
Evil Ryu's 4 design tells more of a story and implies more tragedy than simple edginess.
I still think Ken looks the absolute worst in the game and have no clue how they could fuck up an iconic character design so easily same with the general artstyle, SFIV looks not so great but it has the cool pseudo-comic/fire aesthetic and the really nice art that makes up for it, but whenever I look at in-game SFV stuff, certain characters like Sagat look great, and most other characters look and move like they're made out of clay
To be honest, I think they were aiming for a clay + inkbrush artstyle, but realized too deep in that they couldn't pull it off (especially with hair) and we got the awkward levels of inconsistency that became the retail title from them not wanting to invest in revising it.

So, is this guy basically the same energy as Inferno Nightmare from Soul series?
He just looks so goddamn goofy
He's just a more fancy version of Evil Ryu who's been a thing since Alpha 2. He's basically what would happen if Ryu ever succumbs to the Satsui No Hado (The power that Akuma has). He's called Kage now cause they probably felt it would be better than just "Evil Ryu".

So I watched Max's reaction to Kage's reveal (and to be honest aside from the stupid look he looks realyl cool and interesting to play), and I guess somebody in the comments clarified (and i quote): "Kage is NOT evil ryu, he's an embodiment of the hado, hence akuma calling him a soulless puppet and kage = shadow"
One gripe I have with Kage is that he has a robotic voice modulator on it, but other than that he looks great. Hopefully Daigo mains him.
fresh from r/kappa https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/216/629c2335-db91-4e08-af99-666bb1830a60/image.png I give this new original character two thumps up!
angel ken when
Heavenly Dan, and it's just an MvC version of Dan where he can do all sorts of combos, but he does Canadian damage .
It's all about that Cyber Dan. https://orig00.deviantart.net/3b7d/f/2011/241/c/3/pocket_cyber_dan_by_letourbillonenchant-d487peq.gif

So, how is Killer Instinct? I want a fighting game with 3d graphics that's not Tekken 7 because I have no money.
The combo system is a lot of fun once you get the hang of it and the visuals are pretty stunning for an almost 5 year old game. Also the soundtrack rips https://youtu.be/AZLmf3n00IM
Also the character designs are really fucking good compared to what they were originally, and Hisako is something that seems like she'd be straight out of a Mortal Kombat game. The only character design that I'm kinda iffy on is Orchid, she still looks a little too much like they're relying on n64 polygon counts.
When Killer Instinct is in sale, i buy it to all my closest friends so much i love this game. Netcode is 99% perfect, but the only issue is ranked is dead on the steam version, but crossplay work perfectly in casual matchmaking. And also, no Dinput support, there is way around it. All characters gameplay are so great in that game !
Killer Instinct is a fantastic game with the best netcode on the market. All the characters are fun and super unique. Even the clone characters have their own unique traits, gimmicks, and gameplans. And as has already been stated, the soundtrack is on fuckin fire. Easily one of if not the best OST of modern fighters. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6JapDyUwAu8 I've got the version on the Windows Store which I believe is crossplay with the Steam version in casual matches? I'm down to play if anyone would like.
so it looks like dbfz is pretty much dead tournament-wise. first, evo japan removed it from the lineup for unknown reason, and now anime ascension removed it from the lineup as well. this is 100% toei being mad that they're not getting any money from these tournaments from hosting their game.
Hot opinion: I never thought DragonBall FighterZ was fun to watch/play nor mechanically deep enough to invest time into, so I can't say I'm surprised that the tournament scene is dead. Matches take too long and the game's sacrifice of depth for accessibility makes matches too samey.
So I got Killer Instinct but it feels very sluggish. At 1080 fullscreen, high textures and shadows but no other fancy stuff on I was only getting 750-800/1000 on the performance test and sound seems to be desynced from the actions in character intros. Is it just slower paced than Street Fighter 4 or is it running terribly on my computer? I have a i5-6500 3.20 GHz, 16GB RAM and a GeForce GTX 1080.
You certainly have more than enough power to run the game very well. It's pretty well optimized even on lower spec stuff. Make sure your drivers are updated and set your Power Management Mode in Nvidia Control Panel to prefer maximum performance.
