So if I understand this right, the new Gear/Variation system is more like Injustice 2's Gear system, but this time the moves themselves are separate from the gear this time.
I just hope it's not like Injustice 2 where it had Denuvo with the shittiest implementation possible
Yikes
I wish WB didn't own the publishing rights to MK so the gear system was JUST cosmetics, but shit like augments and ability changes through gear is universally hated.
I'm sure WB forces it in there to sell even more loot boxes. It really turns me off.

Was really hoping for a Reptile reveal today, but I guess I can wait a bit longer...
The new gore system in this is actually a lot more visceral than I thought it would be. Not looking forward to what Reptile acid is going to do in this new system.....
would not be surprised if hes a premiere skin like black lightning/raiden in Injustice 2
Yeah I have no doubts that Reptile isn't going to be in, I just wanted to see what he's going to be like now lol
His default MKX is my favorite design of his so far and I wonder if they're going to top it in some way. Even then, with how much you can change characters with gear in this, I also have no worries I can make my own cool Reptile anyway.

the blink and miss kabal reveal
I'd actually be surprised if it was just that way. But it still sucks that they're adding stats like this to gear. Knowing WB, I'm sure they're trying to push the limit though.
power bar for amplified moves is on a timer rather than attack build now
Anyone know if brutalities are back, thought I remember em from leaks.
When showing off the Kustomize section, Brutalities were one of the things listed you could change.
Mortal Kombat 9 and X has a lot of good Kontent when I bought them complete. But Injustice 2 being a grind fest makes me a bit worried about this, at least move and cosmetic are separated for now. I hope there isn't any RNG to get stuff. I hope there aren't micro transactions like X had (Easy fatalities which you won't notice until you ran out and the expensive unlock all the crypt) or lootboxes. There is also the publisher problem.
For now I will wait what else to expect before deciding if buy or not. I like Mortal Kombat but these days is what surrounds a game what makes me doubt a purchase.
I know it won't happen but I wish Hellboy would come back for this MK11. IJ2 as a game doesn't really do him justice but the general character execution was so good. The voice, the mannerisms, and animations, he was one cool motherfucker.
I just hope MK11 has some fucking music. Their past games have had the lames scores, the music might as well not even be there.

music is pretty good here
Barake be like:
Rips face;
Rips more of the face;
Punctures brain and rips it from the head;
NOM.
Do bigger fans of the MK series prefer fatalities that are more graphic/gruesome or more... "grandiose"? I've noticed this with most of the fatalities in MK9 and MK10, and especially the two fatalities shown off during the stream, a lot more of the fatalities are more like spectacles. I don't have a problem with that, I'm not a weird psychopath or anything, in fact the more gruesome/painful-looking fatalities are hard for me to watch because i'm a prissy that can barely sit through horror movies that aren't the Thing, but Sonya Blade sending you into a helicopter's spinning blades, Baraka cutting off parts of your face, and Skarlet making giant daggers out of your blood seem to lean more towards the spectacle side of fatalities. The only "gruesome" ones I can think of off the top of my head are Kung Lao shoving your face into his spinning blade sword, and Tremor's fatality where he squishes you between two rocks.
What would be your dream guest fighters for MK11?
Mine's Ash Williams, he'd fit right in with the amount of splatter,gore and cheesiness the Evil Dead franchise is known for, he'd also be a quite interesting fighter, think about being able to stance-change your chainsaw arm to the mechanical arm from Army of Darkness, kinda like Vega's stances in Street Fighter.
People have been requesting Spawn forever and I think he might actually have a chance in this game. But for me I'd love to see mainly Ash or Doomguy (as far fetched as the latter is).
banjo kazooie or goku
Doomguy or Ash would be great. I wonder if they'll put Michael Myers in the game after who they added in the previous two games.
Ash would work perfectly, considering the plot of 90% of Army of Darkness comics is "Ash falls through a portal and has to fight Freddy/Jason/Herbert West/etc."
You could seamlessly implement him into MK canon as a guest character, not to mention all the different loadouts you could make.
Ash, Doomguy, and Spawn all feel like complete no-brainers. I just want Neatherrealm to say "fuck it" and make a horror fighter already. They managed to get Alien, Predator, Jason, and Leatherface in MKX, plus Freddy in MK9. They seem to have a talent for getting all kinds of companies to give up their character rights for a guest shot in a fighting game and I'd be shocked if the idea didn't cross Boon's mind at some point.
What they should do is partner up with the guys that made Terrordrome and do exactly as you said - make a horror fighting game. Have all the licensed characters they can get, Alien, Predator, Jason, Freddy, Leatherface, look for really cool licensed horror movie characters that'd make good fighters, and take a few of the designs the Terrordrome guys came up with for their failed Terrordrome II kickstarter. Focus on a more simplistic and easy-to-get-into fighting game system, emphasize the horror aspects, and they could easily have a fighting game that sells hundreds of thousands, if not milions. There is a market there for good horror fighting games, and there has been ever since Mortal Kombat originally released. Hell, they could even try to get a cameo from Killer Instinct's character cast, they have some great horror characters.
If anybody could do it, it's Netherrealm.
Holy fuck I'm gonna buy this just for Reptile related gore ain't I...
There's always good n bad fatalities. I remember when I was playing 10, I always used Erron Black's Six Shooter just because it was so lame
There were certainly some gut wrenching ones that I can remember from MKX. Like Johnny Cage splitting your torso for the "Here's Johnny" for Takeda pulling your spine out through your mouth.
They've managed to up their game with each game so there will certainly be some to push the envelope.
Xrays certainly got a step up from 9 to 10. I was watching Max go back through all of them for MK9 and most were tame for what I remember in 10.
The detailed peeled face they have going for Baraka's fatality is certainly something I didn't expect.
Also considering now the fatalities are freeze framing on the viscera now, I can certainly say that there's probably going to be a decent amount of "Yikes!" fatalities.
is shoryuken dead? at least for me, it hasn't updated for like a month
Judging from what I saw doesn't look like I can have skins and movements separated to choose, as in, I want to choose my skin set and then choose the style created. Also, I hope there are infinite loadouts since I like to have all the skins and colors variations available to choose in the fight menu, having limited space like in Tekken 7 makes hard to have variations of the same costume.
