I find that funnier that it was posted in /R/Tekken instead of the Street Fighter one.

News from EVO Japan: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0sE3m_GpVLA Blazblue's Naoto Kurogane, P4A's Teddie, and UNIST's Seth are coming to BBCTB. Joining them is Arcana Heart's Heart Aino, confirming the franchise as the 5th "fate" announced at last year's EVO. A 6th franchise was also introduced, but is currently unknown. Update is set for sometime this Spring. Dunno if any more characters will be announced before the update hits. Of note is that Heart's sprites have been dramatically touched up, compared to her appearances in the Arcana Heart games and Nitroplus Blasterz. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wrJkHjU0gq8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4xwg8NnNBw0 Julia and Negan are hitting Tekken 7 on February 28th.
Hype for Julia. Kinda looks similar to Leo.
Thematically yes, mechanically no. There's some circular arm bullshit in there for both, but Leo's thing is mix and mex, Julia's thing is launching you into the sun after a whiff or using frame traps to crush the fuck out of anyone without a mid parry or unchickenable punch reversal.
Arslan Ash is a fucking beast. I still can't believe the Tekken Grand Finals is about to have no Koreans or Japanese players in it.
And somehow both Guilty Gear and Street Fighter ended without them announcing anything.
They might be saving the Street Fighter stuff for Final Round. As for Guilty Gear... I dunno.
Sounds incredibly implausible. If they don't have anything to show at EVO JAPAN, then they won't show at some major in USA.
We're not getting GG announcements until, at the earliest, this summer. We have E3, EVO, and the most likely culprit, the ArcRevo WT finals for news possibilities. https://www.destructoid.com/arc-system-works-looking-forward-to-new-year-will-hold-anniversary-event-in-2019-480642.phtml There's also this, which is my bet for when they'll announce whatever they're working on. IIRC this was the type of event they announced SIGN at so it is very likely we hear something about GG then, given the fact that it's also a big anniversary celebration. I think with all of the possibilities for news and the confirmation that they were working on a new game last summer, its undeniable that the reason we just aren't getting any news yet is because they aren't ready to show it. This also means that Rev 2 is done in terms of new stuff, but we kinda knew that already.
2019
sound like he got locked in an elevator with rip and tasty steve
Since no one posted about it, here's the EVO 2019 lineup: Street Fighter 5 Arcade Edition Tekken 7 Soul Calibur 6 Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Mortal Kombat 11 Blazblue Cross Tag Battle Dragon Ball FighterZ Samurai Shodown Under Night in Birth EXE:Late[st] Thoughts?
Pretty solid, not sure why DBZ is still on there other than $$$, cause the scene has literally imploded. The more salient issue is how much of the main stage will be taken up by Nintendo and Capcom based simply on financial concerns that have jack shit to do with how hot or how good the scene is.
It got pretty close, but I think the Season 2 reveals brought it back from the brink of death.

Street Fighter and Smash will pretty much be two of the Sunday enders, along with Tekken and BBTag.
Samsho's definitely the odd one out, but nice to see SNK on the big stage. Grats to UNIB for sure, that was surprising.
UNIST being in the main lineout is nuts, it went from being obscure to mainstream really really quick. It replaced GG -REV2- as the technical airdasher anime fighter, but I'm okay with that.
Sad to see GG not on the list, but it was pretty obvious it wasn't gonna be there with the lack of a new release, in the midst of all these new fighting games showing up. I am glad to see UNIST make it to main stage though, it deserves that spot.
I mean I imagine Arcsys is saving an announce of some sort for ArcRevo Finals at the least
I've noticed that Bandai Namco has a very heavy presence this year with 3 games (Tekken, DBFZ, Soul Calibur).
Technically Smash as well since they co-developed it

Likely maintaining a presence so that KOF15 can be there next year.
GG had a pretty good run, but I'm still sad to see it go EVO-wise. Had a total of 6 EVOs if you include Japan. Was one of the oldest games on the main stage when all was said and done. Still have a lot of great Japanese scene events coming up like KSB, Toushinsai, and in the general sense we have the Arc Revo WT events throughout the rest of the year.
