I introduced a friend of mine the world of Saltybet. He is now poor in money but rich in knowledge and in salt.
I've been playing more Skullgirls and Big Band is absolutely Terrifying.
Fucking love using Beowulf though. Should really main more wrestlers in fighting games.
pleeeeease capcom we need your fighting game redemption now
I doubt that would happen. From what I've learned while lurking around FG communities, the brilliant minds such as Ono, Seth, and neo_g, have left the Fighting Game quarters of Capcom. I doubt there's anyone nearly their level even left in the company.
I haven't played online vs other players yet, but from what I played of Beowulf, he was easily one of the most enjoyable fighting game characters ever. I love his combo game so much, it's really fun to just try and come up with new combos on him, especially since he can get a reset from picking up his chair.
I tried playing R. Mika in SF5 but it just isn't the same. There's something special about Beowulf.
Capcom's Big Announcement Is A Plug
His chair game is already pretty lethal and it can only get expanded on when you learn how to throw it, and then you have his range of grabs that only further expand with the use of Hype.
At least losing the chair by accident isnt a death sentence like Ms Fortune losing her head. Big Band just repeating spams out Giant Step and you just get rekt since that covers the whole stage and you cant instantly pick it back up like the chair.
Oh so pretty much a NEOGEO Mini then but with a full-size arcade stick. Well that's gonna be pricy.
Or like any of those chinese bootleg ass arcade sticks with built in emulators and stolen ROM's

CAPCOM HOME ARCADE
God this thing is fucking ugly
The people behind the Capcom fighting game division and old arcade shit like that are so clueless.
I'm scratching my head how that design even got through draft, nevermind the full production. What the fuck.
$259 for 16 games are you fucking kidding me? If they're gonna sell it for that much it should have every CPS1/2 (and possibly 3) game on it.
Uhhh... why not just fucking make it an Arcade 1up Cabinet then. That looks ridiculous and crazy expensive.
So i managed to buy the steam version of Soul Calibur 6 for cheap for myself and my friend and i'm seriously fucking impressed at how i can play with them without all that much noticable lag considering i'm from the UK and they are from the Philipines. What kind of black magic is this?
Iunno man, some connections just work. I remember back when SFV came out I was consistently getting terrible connections from 5 bars in the US. Then I play a 3 bar dude in New Zealand and it was
one of the smoothest matches I've ever played.
capcom should have just released another beat em up bundle
They would probably pull off something streetwise-esque, but with some changes. Like, they'll probably go for top-down view approach...
What's peoples opinions, i want to play some Injustice 2 again, worth trying to play with keyboard or just playing with a 360 controller?
In my humble opinion, I don't believe playing Injustice is worth anything but I'm heavily biased against any and all "superman goez ebil so reeliztick" stories.
I've already played the story, i don't care too much, I just want to fight as a super hero
are you more used to m/kb or controller
obvious question but if the former then it's super easy to get into the groove, the only struggle you'll have is doing motions solely because you have to time your movement presses since keyboard buttons are purely 1 or 0, so things like half-circles are much harder and you have to pace yourself or they'll never come out
I can't imagine ever playing a fighting game with a keyboard. Injustice 2 is fun as hell tbh, one of my favorite fighters.
I mean I bought IJ2 on release so console, so i'd be used to joypad but i was wondering if keyboard would be worth practicing on, just wanted to see people opinions, always liked the idea of keyboard but always played most fighting games with joypad
Keyboard is more like traditional fightsticks than controllers except for the fact that it doesn't have an actual stick. If you prefer the feel of a stick, I'd say fuck both, just take the dive and grab a cheap mid-quality stick like a Qanba Drone (which is constantly on sale for $40).
You'd be surprised. As long as you have a fairly big keyboard, the feel will be very natural, because you can spread your hands just like you would on an arcade stick. There's a reason why mixboxes and microswitched stick buttons that are literally just keyboard switches are a very big thing right now.
Honestly a regular controller just doesn't compare. Analog sticks aren't suited for 2d fighting games, almost every D-pad i've used on modern controllers feels awful and even cuts into my fingers occasionally, and the conflict of form factor vs. having all your buttons with separate fingers so you can optimally execute fighting game combos and inputs makes me shy away from controllers even though I grew up playing PS2 and Xbox 360. I think it's fair if people enjoy using their controllers over sticks or keyboards, there's definitely form factor and it's not impossible to make them work for you, but there's something about the optimization that comes with sticks and keyboards. My biggest complain about the keyboard/stick input is the fact that you couldn't realistically just carry them around in your hand, and that they usually require more setup than a basic controller since they're usually optimized for either PC play or have a UFB that requires button inputs, while most tourneys and events use console versions of games.
My problem with analog also is they go crap after a lot of use, so doing certain moves that need diagonal movements become hard because of it, any suggestions on that?
There's apparently enough of a market for keyboard fighting game players for Mixboxes to exist.

If you wanna try Keyboard I'd recommend a Hitbox style layout. Instead of WASD for the traditional up left down right try ASD for left down right and put up on Space.
Playing a 3d japanese fighting game with instant response time and technique is hard but doable and quite counter intuitive.
Playing a strictly 2d zoning spam fest of all the spam all the time with dubious response time and janky collision issues is actually very very doable, and lends a distinct advantage on low latency keyboards
It makes me very sad that more fighting games are not like Skullgirls. No game since then has been as feature rich and complete. Proper GGPO netcode, hitbox viewers, tutorials, and replay modes should be industry standard by now.
Will we ever get another Skullgirls? The way I see people talk about it, it seems like it died for good.
