Grand Theft Auto Online General Discussion - kArUmA4lyfe2005 blew you up edition

GTA:V seems to be for sale at €16.43 right now on some sites, is it worth it? Steam reviews seem to be either negative ones critiquing things like getting banned for no reason + the grind, and some of the positive reviews seem to be sarcastic ones (aka telling outright terrible stuff despite being classified as a positive review).
I'd say it depends on what you're looking to get out of it. The singleplayer can be fun for a first run, but I find it lacking in replay value because of how scripted and linear most missions are. I also didn't really like the story or characters that much. I've had a lot of fun with the online portion of GTA V, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't think it was a pile of shit. It's very grindy, unfriendly to new players, buggy, and horribly balanced. Also, the false bans mentioned in the reviews are real and nobody really has an idea of what triggers them.
For that price? Hell yeah it is.
If you just want to fuck around, there's always FiveM. Doesn't have the nightclub stuff yet I don't think but it'll get it at some point
Oh you’re in charge of that? Well, how does the join process work?
Okay so we're making a club-themed DLC. What could we add to expand the experience to our game?
Okay.. nightclubs of course, more drinking activities, dancing
a blimp
a fucking A-10 Warthog
another fucking flying bike for making the freeroam even more of a battle-zone
a sToNE hATchET???
and yeah fucking bottles which costs €3.73 to make your screen blurry for a minute.
"B-b-b-b-b-b-but iTz oPtiOnEL!!!"
at least you can run all your businesses from one single place finally.
Just tell me your social club name, I send you an invite and then add your name to the google doc of all the people in the crew.
Alright, my social club name is Kobra-Zav
Recently had some guy whining ingame about how people were killing him after he was randomly killing them, said it was easy to kill them and that's why he was doing it, but when they started killing him that made him not very happy, flawless logic.
I swear, there's some sort of exploit that lets you kick people out while disguising it as a network error that everyone's kept a tight lid on somehow. Almost, if not every single time I've been kicked out due to an "unknown network error" it's been when I've been a colossal pain in the ass for a person or group of persons, and it's in their best interest to get me out. Is this just pure coincidence and a crazy conspiracy theory, or is it possible there's actual truth to this?
If there is an exploit like that, there really wouldn't be much of a point in using it when people can just vote kick without consequences.
It's much more likely that it's just a coincidence. Connection issues happen all the time in GTAO and they're also a lot more frequent when an update has recently been released.
Reminds me of a guy I saw at a festival once "I don't like getting hit, but I LIKE TO FIGHT!"
This Dixon guy kinda sucks. So far Solomun seems like the best DJ imo. Hopefully The Black Madonna is worth the wait.
Had this game since the PC launch but pretty much never got into Online because of the stories about the money grind. Started playing it with some friends last week and all of them have already quit lol. Stories weren't wrong; they really wanted people to buy Shark Cards to skip the boring shit. What a disappointment.
If there isn't any specific activity you enjoy doing in the game (racing, heisting etc.) then it feels like Online is as wide as an ocean but as deep as a puddle, and you wouldn't be wrong. Any update that doesn't cater to my interests won't see much playtime from me.
After Hours being a mostly hands-off supplementary business and dance minigame doesn't really interest me all that much, it just doesn't feel as cohesive an update as Gunrunning, which despite the horrible research mechanic and huge costs at least launched with quite a few things to keep you occupied.
Dripfeed is getting out of hand to the point where we are receiving a skeletal amount on update launch only for the sake of stretching content over multiple months.
I used to blow up cargo crates and gunrunning supplies when I was bored and the person delivering was a dick or looked like one.
But then eventually, with more updates coming, it felt more and more riskier chasing after a player.
It's not worth the humiliation of getting in an Hydra or a Buzzard just to get killed by the Stromberg, an Oppressor or the Akula which are hundreds of times more efficient and smaller than you.
The past week, back when Nightclubs were just released, I was thinking about going after these two guys promoting their club with a blimp, but then I became extremely paranoid because knowing Rockstar, the blimp was likely gonna have guns or some shit. So I tried sniping it from very far away, but nothing happened, so I just let the Blimp move on and went somewhere to hide.
Turns out that when the Blimp is picked up, there is a Buzzard for a 2nd player to take, so thank god I didn't approach otherwise I would have been humiliated.
Nowadays when I see special cargo or gunrunning crates I just run away from them before they get me.
My favorite activity is now chasing people in my B-11... by taxiing behind them on the street.
I love that the A-10 has a take off distance of about ten feet. And I mean that literally.
After listening to Dixon's set more, I'm really starting to like it now. It even has an Oni Ayhun song in there, that in particular really impressed me.

Great, so I did, or at least tried to do a hangar sourcing mission, which gave me a buzzard and led me to the roof of a building. As soon as I arrive, I get attacked by mobsters, no big deal until one of them suddenly has his rifle magically shooting at the same rate as a minigun, killing me instantly.
Thankfully I respawn on the roof. I clean it up and pick up the cargo, then two helicopters spawn and kill me with pinpoint accuracy.
I respawn, blow up the two helicopters with explosive rounds because the homing missile launcher suck so bad it can't properly lock on them despite standing still, and run to the buzzard.
Right after taking off, seconds after destroying the helis, two others appear and kill me mid-air, crashing the buzzard.
Of fucking course I still respawn on the roof, with no vehicle to escape and no apparent way to ground level. The building is too high to jump off without dying, but also too low to open a parachute in time.
After getting killed at least ten times by the two helis, which respawn instantly and infinitely upon destruction, I somehow miraculously manage to jump off the roof, land on a slope, and survive with barely any health left. I jump in the first car and drive towards where the cargo drop off after I died in the buzzard.
Turns out the cargo is bugged and stuck under the map. The two helis kill me and I respawn on the roof.
Moments like these really make me wonder why I haven't migrated to FiveM yet.
You can also just summon your preferred attack helicopter/plane to take out everyone before moving in on the cargo. The vehicles R* provides are usually pretty underwhelming, save for armor boosts on some occasions.
There's honestly no point in the Launchers when you've got the explosive sniper rifle, like I mean it's hit scan, has more ammo and has cheaper ammo.

Cool, those should be fun.
Also I think I've actually heard of this DJ but it's fuzzy.
OOH YES THE TERRORBYTE FINALLY
Having to run back to your Avenger/MOC sucks, and honestly if you're going up against something that cant dodge homing RPG rounds like a Deluxo then there's really no point to it
Longer Range and Hit Scan always wins in my eyes, might have only disadvantage of having to restock in either the Avenger or MOC but I personally don't think that's enough of a negative.
I have a feeling that the upcoming Terrorbyte truck will make restocking your special ammo a bit more convenient.
Oh no contest - The explosive sniper rifle is flat out better (and this is post-nerf - I shudder to think about how bad it was pre-nerf!) but there are a few things (deluxos, really, buzzards possibly) where it's just a bit overkill to get something that you have to leave a Org/MC to top up on
