There's been a couple of occasions where a corridor mandatory for continuing was blocked by a tree or something, you could bypass it with something like Leap Slam or Blink Arrow but its impossible to run through. Sucks for people who don't run movement skills
why do my stats alternate between two values? ancestral warchief does it as well

are you a chieftain? that looks like the 70% fire damage buff is kicking in
Are you a Chietain? One of your passives (ngamahu's something) gives you 70% of your physical damage added as fire damage for 3 seconds, every 10 seconds
The mastermind fight really was a clusterfuck of madness. It took me a few minutes to figure out what you were supposed to do.
even though I still love this league, this entire thing is a clusterfuck. the mechanics of the league itself are really cool and makes you stop and think what to do to best maximize your gains later in safehouses. but I can't tell what in the fuck is happening in 99% of syndicate member fights. I haven't done the mastermind fight because I've been kinda focused on just mapping and getting a bunch of levels, but from what I've seen in other peoples' videos, the fight seems to have the same kind of problems a lot of boss fights have (the same color on top of the same color on top of the same color).
most of my deaths have been because I can't even really tell where the syndicate members are, because there's so much goddamn adds that I can't differentiate my ass from the ground. god help me if there's like 3 rank 3 members in a tiny ass fortification. it's literally me just spamming leap slam + summon skeletons, praying that It That Fled doesn't chaos bolt me into the shadow realm. how HC people are playing this boggles my mind.
other than that, the inclusion of Bestiary and Incursion are great (Delve needs a tad more work tho imo). new master-crafting is absolutely top-notch. new hideout system is great. veiled mods are cool. safehouse rewards can be powerful if you play your cards right. and the best thing is the game feels SO ALIVE. I have so much to do and so little time. Abyss here, Breach here. oh shit, an intervention. oh fuck, I gotta sacrifice my beasts. I haven't delved in a while, etc,. It's honestly overwhelming a little.
I hope they eventually add some Nature vs XThing box, I want more green accessories.
Not the best solution but, the new map icons are pretty helpful for figuring out where the syndicate members are during fights.
Do we have a hardcore clan for PoE Betrayel League? Im new and would join a Clan if we have one! :9

i just sniped this without the craft for 2 chaos
i am probably a bad person for taking that instead of telling the guy to relist it but... daddy needs his dex
Got 2 of these suckers in one run O_O

So I started to actually get into PoE. I haven't played since there were only 3 acts. I created a Necro and got it to level 72, but it's just too squishy. Damage is no problem. When you have 10 AoE psychopath zombies with insane cooldown and attack speed, 10 Phantasms from kills the Zombies make, 9 Skeletons when you need them for a tough foe, and 2 spectre Flame Sentinels, everything just DIES
Created a Templar and am doing the same thing, but with Dominating Blow, so I can tank AND have my minions. Currently level 31 with 9+3+1 Sentinels, and 4 more ghostly looking guys from a Herald
Necromancer/Summoner builds are my favorites, if you're into them as well I'd recommend trying out a Golemancer build. If you go Elementalist and a couple of Clayshapers you can get 4 extra Golems and they deal fantastic damage.
First question is, are you following a build, or just throwing your skill points wherever you want on the skill tree?
Not following a build isn't bad, but if you just throw your skill points wherever, that's probably what lead to you being too squishy. It's generally a good idea to invest a decent amount of points into Health or Energy Shield, because what you get off of items alone is never going to be enough by the time you reach end game.
Also, check your resists; the elemental ones should all be capped out(at 75% by default, though it can go higher if you have gear or passives that increase it).
I'm speaking from experience here, because I did the same thing; before about a year ago, the last time I'd played was shortly after 1.0 came out, when there were only 3 acts, and I didn't play enough to worry about getting into the higher difficulty versions of those acts. But then I came back, and played a Necro build with no concern for where my points were going beyond what seemed like it'd give me more damage, and only grabbing gear for the sake of buffing my minions. It took me until around 74 to realize something was wrong, when I couldn't even walk around in a map without dying, because everything ran up and one-shotted me so fast.
Resists are your most important defense, indeed. Always try to have them capped at 75% or around 75% if possible. Other stats are (mostly) auxiliary. But since your Necro is at 72, I assume you've been mapping for a while. Definitely look at builds and (if not outright following them) at least try to take some pointers from them. Flasks are also important. Having good rolls and immunities to most, if not all, of the effects (freeze, bleed, curse, etc.) is a good idea too. Depending on the build, some don't use any resistance-based flasks (ruby, sapphire, etc.) and instead opt in entirely for immunity rolls.
I loosely followed a build, but for the most part I went full Minion passives and life passives. My gear just sucks and has no resists at the moment
You could also just trade with other players. Like, no joke, playing the game on your own without trading with anybody is so difficult that it's on par with playing on Hardcore as far as pride goes, and trading is super easy.
Go here
Make sure to set the league you're in correctly
Put in whatever shit you want your gear to have(typically avoid Psuedo mods, since they'll often show stuff like a crafted "+30 Strength" when you search for a psuedo +Total Life mod with a minimum of 15)
When you find something you like, click the little refresh button on the top-left of that item's picture to make sure it's still available, then if it doesn't disappear click "Whisper" and then switch back to the game, hit Enter, Ctrl+V, Enter.
Grab whatever currency they want for the item out of your Stash while you wait for a party invite. If you don't get one, or any sort of response, after a few minutes, go back to looking.
Once you get the invite, click Accept, then right-click the person you whispered in the top-left and click "Visit Hideout"
Wait for them to invite you to trade, click Accept, then Ctrl+Click or otherwise move the currency they're asking for into the bottom half of the trade window.
Mouse over the item(s) they place in the top half of the trade window, and make sure you check it's what you wanted, because people have been known to scam people by throwing in stuff with the same picture/sockets but different stats.
Click Accept and wait for them to do the same.
Say thanks and go back to the endless grind!
http://poe.trade/ Is another good alternative. They all do the same thing essentially. Did we mention using filters? That is really important, especially in the end-game.
yo could I get a reinvite back into the guild? I know I'm not exactly active on here anymore but when I played it was nice to have the occasional non-global convo going on and the stash to chuck uniques i didnt want into
ign is GayRights because for some reason that wasnt taken
3.5.0d Patch Notes
Enabled the "You can apply an additional Curse" veiled and crafting modifier.
TIL that wasn't enabled in the first place
The Delve changes are great though.

those new armor sets look good
is it just random if a map contains a trial for eternal lab?
Pretty much.
You can get The Dream Trial prophecy to guarantee a trial, Zana sometimes offers missions to complete the lab trial, or you could join the global 820 chat channel and get free trials from other players.
makes me wonder if/when they're going to remake lab, trials are frustratingly annoying and enchants blow
trials are fine for my money, if you need to rush to your final ascendancy points you can use the prophecy but otherwise the way it naturally gets paced out by the trials is nice, so you're not doing it immediately after merc lab and you get to feel the additional step up in power from uber a little later
enchants are just a totally busted system though. I don't mind it being a long term chase goal to get the enchant for your skill, but because of the relative chances of actually getting what you want, putting your own helm in and hoping to get your skill is just totally irrational compared to dropping the enchant on a starkonja's or something, yet it also means that buying an off-meta skill enchant on a good base is harder than it should be
ripping off the veil pick-from-three system would help but it wouldn't really fix the larger issues
Tired of the RNG of getting trials.
I regret not doing them early while mapping with my friend, they popped up constantly.
"They appear so often that we can just skip these ones, i dont feel like doing them"
so we did skip them and now i cant for the life of me find anything and /global 820 aint doin anything.
I mean all in all trials are okay when you really look at the options. You have general chat to ask for them/give them away, you have prophecies and zana for ssf. It isn't too bad. The problem is that its just another shitty grind that everyone has to do every single league. It isn't optional, it's a requirement for those crazy power spikes and properly keeping you in the game, and it feels like a chore for probably 90% of people.
i think the worst thing is it can spawn the ones you already did, it should take completed ones out of rotation until you clear eternal lab
to be fair, the content is free. they need those in order to be for the infrastructure and the team.
considering the sheer amount of people that bought the core packs on day 1, they aren't reducing any prices any time soon. As much as I'd like it.
this map just melts my character the second i attack, is there a way to avoid the reflect?
