destroy walls is actually pretty easy, just a little bit time consuming, since you can just go to early-ish level delves and go around there and open everything up
What is a fun class to try delve with? So far have only used ranger really.
Shadow is fun with trapping. I played it both this league and last. Marauder Juggernaut is also very strong in delve with either molten strike or RF
Smite/Herald of Purity Templar is GOAT right now imo, it's strong and insanely fun to play.

I used this as a guide for me. Elementalist is definitely fun. I went with the triple herald arc elementalist (managed to actually get a 4th herald later on).

wow I'd been using summon phantasm in my crawler build just for meat shields but according to PoB the phantasms are each doing 300k dps compared to my crawler's 500k
Forum Announcing Private Leagues Next week we'll announce Path of Exile 3.5.0, our largest expansion this year. In the meantime, we have a smaller announcement to make today. Ever since the start of Path of Exile's development, we planned to add support for players to pay for the creation of a private league for them and their friends to play in. We're pleased to announce that we will start making these Private Leagues available for purchase next week. These leagues allow you to add mods that make Path of Exile more challenging for you and your friends.  We designed private leagues with the needs of two groups of players in mind. The first group is players who want a more challenging Path of Exile experience. The second is players who want to see how far they and their friends can get without outside influence from the rest of a league.  Private Leagues will be fun for content creators who want to create an entertaining stream or video by playing Path of Exile on obscenely difficult settings, potentially alongside members of their communities.  Philosophically, it's important to us that Private Leagues don't make the game easier. That's what special events like Flashback, Turmoil and Mayhem are for. We'll continue to run special events like these in the future.  This means group/guild SSF is possible.
If people could customize to have it with everything they wanted meaning league mods, lots of loot then nobody would bother with the main game and even start getting spoiled. This already happens with flashback leagues. And about paying $12 for this remember that there is crowdfunding. vvvv Crowdfunding When creating a league, you can choose to crowdfund the payment. Players invited to the league can contribute points towards the cost. Once the crowdfunding has completed, the league will be created. You can also crowdfund later additions of time or player slots in the same way. 
I have no idea what your beef with softlayer is but I can't fathom how 12c per person per day is expensive in any reality. you can run a private league for all your buddies or guild for a month for less than the cost of an armour set
again I can't find any info about the quality of softlayer or recent issues it has had, but your opinion on server tech is pretty questionable if you think GGG has to 'allocate' their resources for each league/game mode beforehand like a percentage split everything is instanced in POE so when a player enters a zone all that has to happen is that the server has to generate an instance with the appropriate settings - that includes the procedural framework for that map layout but also the league mechanics of whatever league that player is in. there is no reason for GGG to manually split their resources by league and I'm confident that they do not do this currently for standard/hardcore/temp leagues so running custom leagues does not actually require any additional processing power - the server spends the same amount of time serving a player regardless whether they are in standard, delve, or custom leagues. if custom leagues leads to more players than GGG will handle that the same way they handle the rest of the growth the game has had as Dr cola said, the main purpose of the custom league cost is to discourage - so that custom leagues are used as limited special events instead of fracturing the playerbase on year-round custom leagues
Is Softlayer the reason that literally ever first log in of the day for me requires me to log in multiple times because I disconnect from the server trying to get into the game? And If I tab out in the loading screen, I get kicked back to the log in screen; is this Softlayer's doing also?

Private leagues are now open and explained. Forum Global chat moderation is still performed by us. If you report someone's toucan, it will be dealt with in the same way regardless of which league it came from.  Your leagues will be protected.
Oh boy I can't wait to see what's in store for tomorrow.

is this the 'biggest expansion yet' one or is that later?
Considering we're getting Master rework (finally finally finally!) as well as hideout rework I think. That alone is quite big enough.
