Equip the knife ('4' by default), then press F. Personally I just gave up and installed the addon that prevents other Stalkers from looting your stash. I won't put up with the trial-and-error to determine what spots would be "safe".
Man i know Misery has always been some super bullshit but like two bloodsuckers and a pseudogiant at the SAW MILL is a little excessive
I do want to replay clear sky, as it is my least played stalker game of the bunch. I am not too into survival and still want to play the campaign at some point, mostly just strolling around doing side missions and exploring the zone. Any recommended mods besides the Sky Reclamation Project as mentioned in the OP? Also kinda new to modding this game series...
do they still have the thing where the iron forest is absolutely spammed with higher level mutants?
Just my two cents before i lurk again, we've gotten into this rut of small projects and viewing big, ambitious mods as something that'll never be released. Instead of hoarding away what you have, why not put that and whatever help you can provide towards a good big project? Maybe if y'all got together and I came within 30 feet of the walls and immediately got attacked hy two Pseudodogs and their psy stuff killed me before they even got to me themselves.
What's a good weather mods or even shader mod for CoC that adds some color to the environment. Not that I dislike STALKER's spooky atmosphere, but it starts to wear on you when you realize "Sunny" weather at 10 AM isn't different from evening brightness is jarring. I kinda want more color in my STALKER for once, the entire Zone isn't just full of grey and dead.
S.W.T.C. CoC No-one's really made any decent shader overhauls for CoP/CoC for some reason. There used to be one for the unpatched game way back when called ATM but all it really did was add some half-baked color correction and force soft shadows for all light sources
replaying shadow of chernobyl and damn I forgot how quick you can potentially fly through the whole storyline if you ignore sidequests also tfw drowning in money because you doing missions for both duty and freedom so you got like 600 AP rounds for your Vintorez and for your Sniper SGK so you never need to buy new ammo
Currently doing a run of CoC with dynamic relations, Mercs allies with loners and now when I go back to the starting village everyone is an enemy? I haven't killed any fellow Stalkers/Loners in this playthrough I actually have a lot of allies but whenever this alliance occurs I am shot at by other loners... Can anyone help me out? Kind of a game breaker that
god i forgot how much of a mess the last couples minutes of ShoC is, really shows how unfinished the game ended up being despite everything
What's wrong with it in your opinion?
you sprint around a bunch of mini battle arenas/puzzles teleporting about and then they give you no warning when the final one is coming up, so one second you're gunning down teleporting monolith on a roof top and the next second BAM you've got an FMV of strelok inside the C-Con lab and then it just jumps to him in a field going "idk lol hope i did the right thing"
I completely missed the C-Con and ran in and killed hella Monolith then suddenly I was there and end-game.
True. Ending look like it was made by totally different people. Like some guys came by, and shout: "We need some intense but linear CoD battle! But with lasers and teleport's like in quake!" And then they realized that they dont have much time so they just cut it in the middle without saying anything... Even if I love Stalker I see more bugs and stupid ideas like that ending in this game than in any other games, I think I seriously could write 40-60 pages of plot holes and things in this game that have no sense at all. Because Stalker have lots plot holes and out-of-ass ideas that dont fit to anything(especially between SoC and CS) but even that, and the ending cant really destroy atmosphere and gameplay of it. When I first played that "proper ending" I didnt care about it at all, I was really more excited that I can play on CNP map. Just like when I played CS I didnt notice that characters and story have HUGE holes and most of stuff that where there had 0 sense. Or like CoP was actually boring as hell and 80% of gameplay was about wandering on empty map that structure have no frisking sense at all(random buildings scattered around. Roads that have no sense etc etc...) As a fans we actually see more bugs in game than "haters" but we dont care about it, game atmosphere is just too good to break it with some story/ideas that have no sense. Stalker is like nice girl: maybe she dont have voice of angel, maybe her parents are annoying, maybe she is a bit messy and dont clean after she do something, and she talk too much, but damn her character is just perfect...
I wonder if the ending is like that because they cut out Generators and the Monolith War Lab. Instead having to move stuff to CNPP for the ending causing it all to get smooshed together.
my assumption is mainly because of the pseudo generators at the CNPP, the path would've originally been fighting from the CNPP to the war lab after rejecting the wish granter, then reaching the generators and doing what has to be done, with some empty rooms near the end to give that mood of "holy fuck that was a lot of work" that strelok is in at the beginning of the fmv
Can't seem to sprint, installed a few addons and broke my original CoC so reinstalled with different addons. Have experienced this bug before and a full reinstall sorted it out. Only problem here now is that I have a fresh install with a few addons and when I sprint it is temperamental.. Even walking sorta glitches at points, it's like I am running into an invisible wall or something or hitting an object even though there is nothing there? Can anybody help me out with this? Only way I can travel fast is by consistently pressing "X" and jumping. I have tried changed the key to "C" but no difference :/
they strung together several rather intense sections without anything to bring the player down from the climax or ease into the ending. so you are left with all this adrenaline from sprinting all over the CNPP and the game just ends. really poor pacing in an otherwise exceptional story.
Hey guys I just decided to reinstall Shadow of Chernobyl after not really touching it for like 8 years. I played it Vanilla back then and now I'm looking for a modded experience. Are there any good mods for improving the realism and the difficulty of the game without it becoming bullshit? I also wouldn't say no to a bunch of new weapons and so on. I like to play games with minimal HUDs and the maximal amount of immersion, if that helps. Right now I'm thinking of giving Autumn Aurora a shot.
I've never heard of anyone having an issue with the sprint before. I doubt you're going to get any specific fixes here, I'm afraid. That said... Have you tried sprinting on an entirely vanilla CoC install? I'd try adding the add-ons one by one and see if you can isolate the issue to one. In any case, you might have more luck posting in the comments on the CoC moddb page, or maybe the EpicStalker forums.
As others said, it's largely because the warlab and generators were cut. It feels like everything leading up to those just ended up being shoved into CNPP. It's also likely a remnant form when the game was far more action focused.
shadow of chernobyl aka: what do you mean a door? what do you mean a decoder?
The sprinting has to do with the hitbox of the actor. I believe increasing / decreasing some values in actor.ltx (gamedata\configs/creatures) could solve the problem. On my phone so dont know the exact name of the parameter, but I believe its "ph_mass" related. Ill check it later if a solution isnt given already
Fuck it was my damn keyboard. All I had to do was pull it out and plug it back in... Fucking retarded
Hey, I have problem. I started to modify level.details file using blender and xray plugin for it, to use new grass textures for Stalker Two-K. I added new models and they look perfectly in game, but I was wondering if its possible to modify where those specific grass models appear in map using just that blender plugin? Or its only possible using stalker SDK? Also I get what all those setting do(obviously by their names), but Im not sure what that color is responsible for... http://up.oblivionlost.pl/images/55158303952073620707.jpg
iirc grass is laid out across the map during level compile by a texture that maps across the extent of the level.

Gotta say, the flooded version of Zaton is kinda neat
I'd super be down with a flooded zone hopping from island to island scavenging supplies and weathering storms.
In real world this area is actually flooded, so it would be nice to have more realistic map of it. Its a bit sad that CoP was so lazy made, and they didnt really bother to put in game anything new, like for example ferry over different parts of map, where you would need to protect them depending of faction, and some parts of map would be unavailable before you talk/do missions to get guide that will get you there without bumping in to anomalies. You would not need really any big changes in gameplay mechanic and engine to do that, its a matter of just prepare map for it... You would not need even swimming system, shore would have typical stalker radioactive water and if you would go deeper it would be simple animation of drowning, or the same as HL2 have, where just some mutant eat you...
