Quite a bit, actually. I know @Balathruin is working hard on some weapon/gameplay re-balancing, I've been working on some scripts that may be added to 1.5, and theres new, exciting features (for both players and developers) being added everyday, which you can see here: https://bitbucket.org/revo_lucas/call-of-chernobyl/commits/all The commits have been excellent lately, as a lot of the stuff I was complaining about is getting fixed now. (not being able to get the player's hunger value, for example, was an engine problem that is now fixed). As for the release date? I'm not even sure if Alundaio knows. There's a lot of stuff already added but how much content calls for an entire update? It's a tricky question but if I had to guess I'd say 1.5 is closer than we all think. Sorry I can't be more specific than that, I'm not really in contact with the CoC community giants, most of my to-do list for fixes or additions comes from @Balathruin . As for some content, here's a camera hit effect script that might see the light of day in 1.5: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jv2aKfoxXeA It's obviously fully toggeable, and the headshot effect might need to be toned down some, but it's still an interesting option that might be added.
Add option to sign when you are drunk Drunk sounds: Random hiccups and burping. Random hiccups and rambling(you can be detected when sneaking). Random hiccups and constant singing(you are heard even in Pripyat, everyone know where you are and know that you have no talent at all).
What population settings would you say would result in the sort of populations that you see in the trilogy? I like seeing people chilling at camps and running into people out in the wilderness, but it seems a little sparse at the moment in my game of Anomaly repack (which is on CoC so you can edit the populations) I guess cuz of how many maps there are to populate. One of the things that I don't like about CoC and CoC based mods is that I don't get to see a nice group of rookies at the rookie village, but it's probably because I don't have the proper settings. I wanna chill with the bois.
Even with population factors of stalkers cranked up to 1.5, you sadly still cant quite perfectly replicate the feel that the games of the trilogy has. While CoC has a lot going for it, it seems that porting all the maps into a singular engine caused conflictions that either limited or cut out a lot of the original Stalker's behavior. On top of this, CoC is open world, and therefore a lot of the limitations that GSC placed that forced rookies to primarily spawn in the beginning parts of the game have since been removed. I plan to rectify a few parts of this within my own mod, especially in the story mode where its much more linear, but due to the sheer size of CoC there is only so much that can be done.
1.5 is slowly getting there. Not sure where the line will be for release, there is still a lot I'd like to do.
I would like to see some sort of dynamic squad spawning. Like the Clear Sky or Warfare squad spawning, I would like squads to spawn at their faction bases respectively, not at some random locations. The beginning of the game would be empty and populated with mutants though. I feel like the sight of non-Monolith squads at Prypiat Outskirts would be more rewarding. I don't know if "rewarding" is the word though. For example loners would spawn at the Rookie Village, Yanov Station and Skadovsk.
Well for squads we have other mods and warfare if someone want simple rts in stalker. I would rather like to see more stuff that stalkers do between shooting, because looking at them just standing and wandering without a reason is really annoying after all those years of playing. They should visit more often anomalies looking for artifacts. do random things like sit on road barrier and smoke cigarette, stop somewhere near the wall and use PDA, hunt for mutants, start fist fight after drinking, do random raids... anything beside wandering without a reason between camps. Second thing, from more normal request in terms of CoC 1.5 I would love to see that you shorter that god damn road in bar -_- https://i.imgur.com/veuMy2G.jpg Seriously this road is so damn annoyingly long... It should end near the truck, because this walking on empty road have no sense at all -_- I would be ok if other maps would have long roads, it would be somehow realistic, but this damn road it just empty and have no usefulness in any way.
you need it to give x-ray some time to load in all the NPC's in

Oh sick, gonna check this out tonight. I'm curious about the sound changes..
I haven't played CoC since release and I'm about to pick up CoP on steam. How is the submod selection looking?
Well that's weird, dead air doesn't let you switch weapons with mouse wheel and also you can't change r2_sun_lumscale commands in the console. I always edit those so that shadows aren't so dark (because in real life they aren't unless the sun's not out :p). Also there's a weird glow to everything it seems, like the sort of thing you'd see in a reshade or sweetfx.
Meh, Dead Air is not so perfect as people think, its not bad but its not good as some people comment. It have lots of nice features but most of what was advertised is just... average or not really visible in game. Especially AI that do exactly the same things like in any other mod or even CoC. Yeah I ""didnt play 100hours of it"" but its not like you need to reach that amount of gameplay to see game elements, most of it you can see/hear after hour. As for hearing, sound is really weird, some of them are too loud and its really hard to know from with direction they came. Also its tad ugly in my opinion, even after trying different setting, this Misery style is just so annoying and make game dull, Im not saying that game need to look like Disney movie, but for God sake, even changing those reshade colors game still is just flat and some textures are just eye-hurting to watch from close range... Overall Dead Air is really nice with its new features, but its over-hyped. I started playing Anomaly few days ago, and I dont see any reason to jump to Dead Air... even if some of features are really cool...
Haha good luck, they won't give anyone access to engine source and they changed the magic number in the compressor so you can't use conventional xrcompress to unpack.
Yeah I noticed that, kind of a dick move tbh. Also got a link?
Does anyone know how to fix the weird shadows at the edge of the screen in Shadow of Chernobyl with Full Dynamic Lighting?
Increase sun near border from console.
r2_sun_near_border 1
Thanks fellas!
Well that's weird, I'm having some sort of weird issue in Autumn Aurora 2.1 for Shoc where my saves in two areas have caused me to crash during load. Right next to arnie and inside the dark valley bandit base. It just says something like: xrgame.dll [error][      87]    : The parameter is incorrect. Another time I tried loading it just said: stack trace: 0023:065AD987 xrGame.dll 0023:062EFB0D xrGame.dll 0023:062EEF7B xrGame.dll 0023:06555F96 xrGame.dll 0023:06436775 xrGame.dll

Thanks, wanted to check out the configs and scripts to see how they did some stuff. Very helpful.
I dont remember, does splash screen graphic that you get when clicking stalker is saved in exe/launcher it self or somewhere in gamedata?
Exe
This Dead Air mod looks really interesting, having put like a million hours into CoC.
So guys, I just got a copy of SoC and CoP again and I need some tips for some cool mods to install. Prefirabbly something that emphasises the survival aspects of Stalker.
even a rearrangement of the maps would be interesting, though some might consider it heretical. I've always wanted a mod where the CNPP map is used as a semi-central hub with the other maps situated around it. that map is so fucking huge and cool, yet disappointingly relegated to something you're just supposed to sprint through at the very end of the playthrough, even on most mods and overhauls.
Freedom of choice is almost always a misnomer. A mask used to hide the fact that there's nothing to actually do. "You can do anything" and "There's nothing to do" go hand in hand more often than not.
I take it all back. Dead Air is the very first videogame ever to make me motion sick and throw up. Thanks Obama.
Honestly wepl's mod is my current hope for CoC modding because it's the only one in a sea of mods that seems to address the issue in CoC of there being nothing to do. Did they ever restore those AI behaviors from SoC mods in CoC? Like bloodsuckers and dogs dragging bodies away and feeding on them? That is a feature that significantly makes the zone feel more real to me, but I can't think of any CoP mods that have it
