S.T.A.L.K.E.R Series Megathread: Maybe someday games releasing edition

Well, with a lot of restructuring to the base game you could do it. For ex splitting weapon LTXes into multiple files for each section so you can handle model/animation replacers without fucking with the ballistic properties
Scripts could be done since CoC iirc already has support for loading scripts in a more generic fashion

Honestly I think something like this would benefit the community given the obsession with weapons packs and visual mods.
Being able to separate mods instead of waiting for a merge packs would make more standalone packs pop up and perhaps there'd be less "SUPER HARD OVERHAUL + GUN" where they hype up all these changes just to be AO + getfuckedintheassmiserydifficulty and maybe it would give the actual large mods more breathing room
The problem would be getting people to use it and also converting all the old packs and etc to use it.
No point in even thinking about it. It will never happen. Seems to be a reoccurring theme.

So what is this thing even supposed to be, anyway? Weird underground water treatment plant? What's that tower for?

Really enjoying my time with Lost Alpha, glad I waited and then waited some more to finally play it.
A few screens.

Yeah, honestly, this final release of LA is pretty superb. They've removed most if not all of the stupid cutscenes, though there's still some questionable story elements involved so far, though not much worse than what already existed in SoC. The gameplay has been improved so damn much with the addition of open/unlocked alife behavior.
Huh, maybe it's time to finally pick er up and jump into new (old) STALKER.
If they fixed up the lack of Alife and toned down the stupid story then ironically for all my time shitting on LA it'll finally be a large polished mod that actually has real new content for once which is what I'm always looking for
Lost Alpha is more feature rich and interesting than vanilla STALKER, change my mind
Joint Pak 2.1 is out

Say.. I saw there was a mod option in the launcher for "unlocked Alife from the start".. You happen to know at which point it unlocks naturally? The description of that mod implies that it does..
Freeplay after the end of the main story.
Lost Alpha still has some problems
(SOUND WARNING, NOT EVEN JOKING)

is the earrape really necessary, holy fuck dezowave
whoever designed this helicopter dodging mission in the swamps is a fuck
like seriously this is not fun, I'm just gonna godmode myself to get past this
STALKER 2 when?
Shortly after Gunslinger releases.
So around the time of the heat death of the Universe, got it.
So, speaking of mods, I might need to be spoonfed here. I tried the newest Lost Alpha - something about it's engines or shaders makes my AMD card just shit the bed violently (not performance, as in crazy artifacting/crashes) and Anomaly was another suffer simulator I couldn't get into.
Anything else released recently? I know Joint Pak is out, but the translations aren't far enough along for me yet.
Which AMD card and what in particular was causing artifacts? Was it the water?
It still crashes occasionally for me (annoyingly) but I haven't had any real visual issues after making sure to disable water reflections and enabling the water fix.
Vega 64 - got the latest drivers. DX9 had crazy sky flickering, DX10(.1) seemed to work ok, DX11 was fine but the artifacting crash is insane.
I'm on an RX 480...
Yeah DX9 is fucky for me too (you could fix it by disabling sun shafts btw) but I haven't really had many issues with DX10/11 besides the occasional crash due to xray losing device context. That's odd...
Probably been asked a million times but whatever happened to that mod that had the really detailed animations?
GUNSLINGER? It's in a permanent "when it's done" state.
It's a personal mod that's shown off for clicks and likes tbh. Never gonna happen.
