S.T.A.L.K.E.R Series Megathread: Maybe someday games releasing edition

It's still in development, believe it or not. Sam61 who's also working on the mod, is posting videos of it on his private youtube. Their VK is also a lot more frequently updated than the ModDB page. The scope of the mod is just quite insane for their team size. Comments like "there's no way a weapon mod takes this long" or "this is purely portfolio work" are in my opinion idiotic, because these guys (already) work in the industry and produce above industry standard content for a free addition to the game. AAA studios take years to develop a solid game with good animations full time, let alone these guys doing it inbetween (freelance) jobs. Cut them some slack. It's been 6 years since the announcement, but I think we'll see more of the project this year.
No Sunshadows seems to have fixed it. DX9 has been stable since, thanks!
Really not a fan of the
Hmm... I'm not really tired right now
When trying to use the bedroll. Strelok you assface it's midnight and I CAN'T SEE SHIT. GO TO SLEEP.
Otherwise mod has been decently fun.
Yeah I'm pondering making an anti-annoyance mod to get rid of shit like that
JP 2.1 wins the best 2018 mod competition in Russia. Based on players voting.

literally how
russian stalker players are absolute masochists and will endlessly consume anything related to solyanka
ummm...... what effort? its literally random mods and ideas that are holding on ducktape.... not without a reason this is "meme" mod
I mean, it does take quite a bit of work to merge all those mods and get them stable. IIRC a good chunk of the OG STALKERSOUP for example has had a lot of it's scripts rewritten over the years which is no small effort by any regards, I'd imagine JP 2.1 has probably had a similar amount of work put in.
Doesn't deserve best of 2018 by a long shot but it's definitely not 'no effort'.

Is there a discord for FP STALKER?
i am going to wrap up whatever progress has been made as well as finish whatever i can and get the mod into a playable state so i can release it.

My life is a mess right now but here's some random progress on my unnamed CoC mod thing. Sorry for the shitty debug screens. Creating new animpoints for camps so stalkers do more than just sit at the fire, walk around or guard one spot. These have conditions in logic as well, so stalkers will head indoors if it's raining or in some cases when night time comes around. Some other fun things I'm starting to get working is scaled dynamic quests, meaning rookie and professional stalkers have different quests available depending on rank. For example pro stalkers ask for the more rare weaponry and equipment or freeing stalkers from the army instead of bandits. While rookies want humbler things of you. Essentially no more masters wanting sawed-offs and rookie stalkers who miss the feel of a FN2000. I need to write a proper feature list sometime. Also some inventory stuff and a generic action shot showing off some particle work I've done as well.
we should start talking again. see if we can work, or at the very least - help, eachother out.
Yes, sorry for dipping out on you there, been having troubles on most personal fronts you can have that has been eating up my time and internet courtesy I suppose. Unintentional, but rude nonetheless, sorry for that. I'll see if I can get checking steam into my modding routine when I have the time again.
ironically my life has been a complete fuckfest as well the past few months, so i haven't been modding too much either. steam is fine, but if you prefer discord here is mine:

try and contact me asap so we can start figuring out what we want to do together. thanks in advance.
not to barge in but this is an extremely wholesome conversation, thanks for what both of you do
modding is bae
Any recommendations of mods for SoC that only adds rather than overhaul that tries to make something completely different than the game is?
I recommend the classics like AMK 1.4 and Autumn Aurora 2 for that kinda thing tbh
They do a fairly good job of augmenting the current experience without trying to overhaul it.
OGSE is also good for that but it might be a bit much.
If you're looking for something even more conservative, there's always RMA:
Old Storyline Restoration Mod (RMA) Full file
I want play a mod so bad it's good, if you catch my drift.
Any recommendations?
complete
they said so bad it's good not so bad it's mediocre

maybe I posted this here before but I thought I'd ask again
I am considering making a re-animation mod of the SHOC default viewmodels - their utter ugliness is part of the charm, but some animations are just straight up broken
The idea is to stay as true as possible to the original thing while, well, not making it look like a broken mess
How would I go on about getting the OG arms + guns, and possibly even the animations?
I mean, there's already 2 mods that do (almost) that exact thing already:
https://www.moddb.com/mods/full-weapons-reanimation
https://www.moddb.com/mods/stalker-re-animation-project2
Though they use the CS/CoP arms instead.
doesn't change my mind that much
Maybe an unpopular opinion, but Anomaly is one of the greatest mod packs I've ever played. I have had one crash in about 2 weeks of gameplay, and it doesn't go full-retard Misery difficulty (other than economy maybe).
Lost Alpha has been a bit of a rollercoaster.
The old maps are excellent for shaking off the familiarity, but the balance is wonky (see: kinda terrible), and the story is all over the place.
I'm enjoying it in that Eurojank kinda way, but I'm not sure I'd actually... recommend it? Now if these maps would just get pulled and dumped in a solid CoC/Warfare kinda setting so there's something actually going on, I'd be hyped.
