Uhhh I know I literally just made a post about my potential departure from the Stalker scene, but I had a cool idea that I wanted to test out. Couldn't help myself. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gv9CEZmu8bk&feature=youtu.be The weapon only has the full reload animation (with the bolt pull) but I interrupt the animation after a certain point and use LUA to lerp the weapon back to the "idle" position. This creates the illusion and effectively creates a scripted animation. It has a few problems I need to iron out, and this system wouldn't nessecarily work with all weapon animations, but it should for most and opens up a wider array of weapons I would feel comfortable using.
dude you should continue with you modding work absolutely. You are right about people finding whatever MISERY derivative flavor of the month more popular, but i dont see any reason you cant marry your work with one of these mods that have a flashy presentation that brings in all the retards from the yard. Have you tried approaching any mod teams?
I've started to work to help Anomaly with some optimization and bug fixing, but I've found myself less and less motivated to work on the project. Most of what I've been doing is essentially ripping out the horrible Last Day scripts and updating them to their most stable version - and applying bug fixes where nessecary. Anomaly, for as long as it chooses to exist on Last Day as a base, will be forever plagued by all the bugs and unintended behaviour that it comes with. It feels like 40% of development time is just removing all the old scripts and replacing them with essentially a slightly modified copy of base CoC 1.4.22. Any behaviour that is at all interesting for me to script (ie: i made it so NPCs have the same ammo in their inventory as the type in their gun, versus two seperate types of the same caliber) but they don't want to use it because of how awful Last Day handles NPC loadouts. This simple change would require large chunks of config files to be redone, where as if it was using the much better CoC NPC loadout system this wouldn't be nessecary. Anomaly is hardly CoC. It's Call of Pripyat: Misery with extra maps, more clutter, and worse performance.
So uhh, I'm actually enjoying lost alpha so far (either it got better or my standards dropped since the influx of misery reskins) Is there any way to turn off the helicopter sounds? It's neat that the underground areas are part of the same map but it isn't so neat hearing helicopter rotors constantly underground, completely ruins the tension

Both screenshots are from the same smart, before stalkers couldn't "use" the fireplaces as expected in this smart. Rain or nightfall will make stalkers head inside and use the fireplace there instead. Doing this for all stalker smarts in the map for now before I look into getting custom waypoints for anomaly exploration, sleep spots or guard positions created. Meanwhile I've "activated" any jobs not fully implemented, for example the artifact collector scheme for the anomaly next to Sidorovich.

I actually prefer what you are doing with CoC over anything. I've been part of the FP STALKER community for a long while(2008) although I mostly lurk, but I love what you do and think you should keep going. Werent you also the same guy who made the little online chat function awhile ago but scrapped it because of those shitheads who kept spamming in it?

I have neglected this series for 10 years, but no more. I have recently started playing Shadow of Chernobyl for the first time ever. I'm 7 hours in and I love it. I decided not to install any mods for my first playthrough, though I did install something that fixes bugs and what not. It was pretty much a necessity as the game would crash often without it. Anyway, I'm planning on playing all three games (though I don't have Clear Sky).

Just know they're all a bit different. SoC is the OG game. They had big visions that had to be massively scaled back as is with most Eurojank games. Keep up on the side-quests and don't rush the main. CS is the odd child out. It had some good ideas mixed with some bad ones. Being the middleman, it's largely ignored by the modding community. Get ready for a weirder balance, and lots of grenades. Some people will say to skip this one, I say play it for the Ashot/Yar dialogue and bandit tunes. CoP is the send-off. The levels are larger now, but there's only really 3. They're dense with quests, but it means you're stuck in the same environments most of the time. After you run through them each one, there's a huge host of of mods for any kind of mood you're in. From weird Russian thematic shitshow insanity to casual freeplay and faction warfare mods.
It's really weird how they decided to make the AI's grenades work like some sort of homing missiles, when the disabled grenade throwing script in SoC seemed to work much better.

Nope. I made small work for other games and mods, mostly Android/iOS games but its really static stuff(I suck at animations...). I just like mutants and Stalker models are easy to modify This model of Controller was made in about 5-6h but its still WIP. Lower part is not touched his belly is funny, those blobs are too visible and overall model is still 48k tris, I would need to lower it to minimum 25k so it would not butcher performances and not crash Actor Editor when saving....

CS is my favorite game and the most visually beautiful one imo.
It's too bad CoC uses AF3, I wish somebody would make a vanilla lighting/sky mod so CoC could look like CS
