I didn't know CoC had a faction warfare mod, gotta look that up
xarshi / Warfare — Bitbucket
He keeps his repack up-to-date with the CoC repo, which is why it runs well. I heard rumors though that the installer might have trojan.
That's really cool! Hope he can get back in the swing of things.
I'm confused. Why mod Clear Sky? I've never really played it, but everyone told me it was bad.
I remember it too well https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PwAK9DBaHcg
Because A: at the time it was the new hotness and B: it has quite a lot of content to work with and a lot of possibilities. Also C: it wasn't that bad. It's still a good game underneath some shit.
Made the girlfriend buy all the stalkers in the sale and she was skeptical to play and put it off. Finally today she was sick home from work, and she started up CoC and now she's addicted and won't get off the game lol.
Wanna get her off? Secretly install Dead Air.
I haven't heard of that one, what's it like lmao

I'm enjoying Dead Air. It's kinda charming. It runs pretty well too.
I liked OGSE a loooooot

Man, my initial impressions of Dead Air were so good. The brightened shaders on top of the dreamy ambience really pulled me in at first. I was crouching through some thick brushes with a busted up Mosin, about half health, desperately looking for someone to kill as I needed medical supplies that I just barely couldn't afford from the trader. It's the most immersed I've been in Stalker since my initial playthroughs. But..after a few hours, I kind've got over how well it looked and there wasn't much actual GAME that I hadn't already experienced (through CoC) left to keep pulling me in, so for now, I haven't touched it in a few days. It does run well though.
Well yeah. To be honest that is how a lot of my STALKER runs go now. I'm not surprised that it falls into the CoC trap of not actually having anything to do. But as for now I'm enjoying the mod but there will be a point where I'll get bored of it. Like how I got tired of CoM, or COC, or any other STALKER Mod. It's kind of the grim realization that I have regarding this series. I'll never hav the same wonder and amazement I had 10 years ago playing ShoC for the first time ever again. But I still love the series and if i can eek out 10 hours playing it then I'll go for it.
Just curious.. You only need a clean version of CoP for Dead-Air? Is the translation pack pretty solid or will I need an external translator on hand?
That's why I'm aiming for a fresh approach. I definitely don't want to spoil too much, and regarding future discussion of my mod I'm going to be purposefully cryptic so as not to give too much away. I've already hinted at some features, but most people seemed to gloss over it ;) Also: https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/180967/2413c958-8e96-432a-9909-467831b45944/xrEngine 2018-07-03 15-42-54-16.png @Theman! figured out character model editing. Turns out it's way more complicated than you'd think. I wonder what we could do with this?

Lost Alpha /s
Bite your tongue.
Man, if it weren't for the insane amount of walking and the atrocity to gaming that lab x8 is, Lost Alpha would be up there with OGSE in my books.
Probably because it has these cool mechanics like unit dynamic squad upgrading. If a faction gets, for example four resource points, then there will be more experienced squads spawning with better models, their weapons pools get replaced with better ones. At least that's how I think this works. If I am not mistaken, then I wish that it was a thing in CoC Warfare. Conquering in Clear Sky feels quite rewarding too, probably because CS conquering is quite slow paced.
