I think he might mean the fact that Fallout 76 doesn't actually come with a disc.
Bit of an investment but I got Morrowind Collector's Edition.

Ordinator Figurine. Unfortunately the mace was bent (so much that the mace spikes were touching the helmet), which I had to straighten and left a small scratch on it.

Unpopular opinion: I've never minded killing Paarthurnax. He's a neat character but I don't feel any particular connection with him, definitely not one that warrants having an incomplete quest objective forever. That mod that lets you spare him feels like such a cop out and it's badly writte, just stop being a pussy and kill him bro.
It makes no sense, that you, pretty much the leader of the blades since you are dragonborn, can't say, hey, lets spare this dragon, he cool now. Yeah, there should be more resistance from the blade to that idea, but there is only so much you can do with a mod that has to use characters with voice acting already in the game. Hell, look at quest mods in 4 and how the player character is so poorly written half the time since of that problem.
You're not the de facto leader of the blades just because you're dragonborn. The blades are extinct, and all that's left of them is two old idiots way past their prime who constantly boss you around.
In fact you never have to go check on the blades ever again once they get you to sky haven, you can bail on them and on the greybeards and go check on Paarthurnax instead.
Just seems like more bad writing from Bethesda, and a waste of them.
It felt like the only reason they wanted the player to kill Paarthurnax was so that they didn't have to leave a thread open about him still being up there throughout future events.
I dunno, they give you a choice and you can see an extra scene if you choose to spare him. Things actually do kind of pan out differently and the open note it leaves if you let him be seems fairly deliberate.
What would him being there in future events even matter
Let's be real. Anyone (thing) would get bored of sitting on a mountain for all eternity. If he would sit up there for at least one more era I'd be shocked.
time means nothing to a dragon. so if he's able to sit up there for as long as he has, he can do it for another few eras
conversely, he has all the time left to take over humanity with a different dragon uprising long after all dragonborn have died
(although I think akatosh and kyne would put a stop to that like how they did with the DB and alduin)
Now I'm just picturing his numerous suicide attempts only to resurrect because of the whole immortality thing
I'd never kill Grandpa dragon
The blades want me to murder him, and with little to no justification!
Ridiculous, I'd never follow orders to murder an innocent creature just like that even if he was once evil.
Now excuse me while I complete the dark Brotherhood quest line.
I think I've finally found another character run I'm genuinely attached to. The last one was a breton nobleman who was caught at the wrong time in the wrong place and who had to run away from daggerfall completely destitute (vanilla start, so quite literally escaping from some court intrigue as Hadvar puts it in the intro), ended up settling down in Skyrim and marrying an orc.
This time I'm playing an imperial with alternate start as legionnaire. Backstory I've built is that he was a petty criminal in the Imperial City who was roped into doing dirty work for some of the more established gangs over there (using restoration to heal up torture victims, among other things) and who was used as a fall guy when things went tits up. Legion offered him a second chance and shipped him over to Skyrim as an auxiliary to pull similar dirty deeds, promising him freedom and amnesty if he lives through the war.
Was happily surprised to find that the game actually accounts for you starting the civil war questline before talking to Balgruuf, which made it easier to smoothly transition from the early stages of the war into the MQ: Balgruuf will take Tullius' intel from you but states he'll only look into it once you've taken care of the dragonstone/watchtower situation. Contextually it also gives you time to go to the greybeards and then back to allow time to pass and for Balgruuf to study the intel, putting you back into the civil war loop. You can even sync up the MQ and Civil War further by taking the horn from delphine, simultaneously fighting the dragon at Kynesgrove and delivering the axe to Ulfric.
Love to do runs like these where you don't quite forsake the MQ but turn the prisoner intro into something a bit different.
Well I mean if you let him live he is literally re-massing dragons together, and it has become abundantly clear that a dragons literal soul is designed to dominate and fight, so I highly doubt his peaceful ways will stick with the rest is my gut feeling. Eliminate possible symbols of uprising and keep them separated to their nests would be the true good guy choice as it keeps mortals from possibly being enslaved by dragons, and if your life was truly there on the line would you want to take the pretty large chance they would smash society into their image again?
Anyone here know to to fix these texture bugs? It seems to happen in all bethbryo games.

I'm going to ignore the fact Skyrim is a game from this so we can move past in-game mechanics and story telling (because otherwise its pointless to argue with the fact that the player will always win)
Fair enough, but to me (and how my dragonborn would act) the fact that one dragon has remained peaceful and beneficial to men/mer is proof enough that they should be given the chance to TRY.
The dragons are an intelligent species capable of speech and sentient thoughts, and Paarthunax came to appreciate the way of the voice all by himself, now they have one who speaks their own language teach them this way they should all get a greater understanding.
And for them uniting under one banner
They already where United, under Alduin - first born of Akatosh and they failed to dominate the land when it was at its most vulnerable. The dragons had every single advantage they could ever want:
Element of surprise, men/mer never even knew they existed
Mythical status, thought to be unkillable gods
Huge numbers
Men/mer already at war with themselves, completely fractured people spilling their own blood and not looking to the skies
United under a demi-god incapable of death
And yet with all this they failed, granted the dragonborn had a heavy hand to play in this, but now the world knows that dragons are very real, they can be killed, and how best to defend themselves from their attacks.
Even better that the Civil war has had a winner, (regardless who) they are even more unified.
The dragons would have a very difficult war to wage now.
Should the dragonborn have this responsibility on his shoulders? well considering what he's already had on his shoulders, I believe that YES he should, in fact I would go so far as to argue that he is the ONLY one who has the right to determine what action should be taken against the dragons as they are quite literally of the same blood.
Couldn't they just perform a coup? True, they could and this is a legitimate concern, but the dragons are described as a proud race that will follow leadership.
I think I recall Paarthunax or maybe Odaviing saying that many dragons doubt the leadership of Alduin, yet did not Coup against him.
(and I believe Odaviing only follows you because his life is now forfeit, he didn't betray Alduin out of moral duty.)
So while I believe that the dragons may dislike Paarthunax, none would openly challenge him.
And as for saying a few sneaky dragons might seize power, I do not believe such a dragon would exist. To me the idea of sneaky dragon (with how they are described and act) would be equivalent of a Orc that doesn't get a hard-on from the thought of war, or a heterosexual high elf, it simply seems to goes against everything that's been established.
But anyway, back to the main point, would some dragons follow Paarthunax and learn of his ways?
I believe they would.
Do I believe that some dragons would drop-out of Paarthunax's school for friendship and tolerance?
Absolutely.
And those that do, they'll join their other kin in burning homes, eating people and acting like monsters.
They'll be killed by the dragonborn and wandering Adventurers and eventually they'll die down
It'll go from dragon attacks once a week, to dragon attacks once a month, dragon attacks once a season, dragon attacks once a year etc
And those few that sit on top of the throat of the world will be left alone and allowed to live, teaching others their ways.

This is great news considering that I've been contemplating buying the game for about more than a month now.
Can Dragonborn even run out?
I assume Akatosh will look down at the world occasionally and just magic up some lady pregnant or bless some dude's balls so the next baby has his blood then shrugs it off as he goes back to reading the lusty argionion maid
Nah, I'm on special edition. The textures I'm talking about are the really low ress blurry ones on the bridge edge.
iirc Dragonborn isn't a genetic thing, it's a blessing bestowed directly by Akatosh on an individual basis. The tamrielic emperors have historically been dragonborn up until Martin Septim because they were in a covenant with Akatosh who just kind of gave the title away to every emperor up until the amulet was smashed to bits.
So as to be expected, the Skyrim update today was mostly for CC content.
Here's what changed in the CCC file:
ccFFBSSE001-ImperialDragon.esl
ccMTYSSE002-VE.esl
ccBGSSSE043-CrossElv.esl
ccVSVSSE001-Winter.esl
ccEEJSSE003-Hollow.esl
This seems to largely be the content from last week's sneak peak. ImperialDragon is assumedly Civil War Champions, VE is the Vigil Enforcer pack (by Maty743, the Divine Crusader author), CrossElv has got to be Elite Crossbow, Winter has got to be the Christmas/Saturalia pack, and Hollow is a new house from Elianora. Sunder and Wraithguard were added to the file in the last update.
In the file changes, there's at least something to talk about. The Imperial Saddle added with Wild Horses got updated with actual reins, and the male Argonian model for one of the hats got changed to use the textures from the Mourner's Hat, for some reason. There's a new script called "defaultdisplayiteminlistscript", which I wouldn't be surprised is for item displays in Elianora's new house.
And, thanks to the delta patch feature in the latest versions of xEdit, I can finally talk about the ESM changes with ease! Starting from the changes in this update, at least. Not that there's a lot. The Thieves Guild Hood got fixed to work properly on vampires, and there's information on four new locations. There's very little on two of them, just that there's a new location by someone I don't recognise (MDR), and a new Bethesda location with two cells. No idea where they'll be or what they're for yet.
The Elite Crossbow pack is going to add a new area to Ironback Hideout (near the Steed stone), which you'll access through a trapdoor near the table/tent. This is what it currently looks like (though the bodies are just bandits that spawn there and I had to kill, and then didn't think to remove):

Elianora's new home is assumedly called Shadowfoot Sanctum (based on the lines for sending NPCs like adopted children to that location), and is going to add a small corridor leading to it in this part of the Ratway:

Does it? I always felt like the opposite. Especially the classic weapons and armor they add which usually look like crap.
I would like to see what the Vigil Enforcer armours look like but there aren't any reviews on YouTube yet. Has anyone here bought it?
No, it is not. In fact, you are an idiot for thinking anything Bethesda has ever is any good.
if you hate bethesda so much im gonna ask you to not post in bethesda related threads again or ill install a total overhaul mod on your posting career
New mods power tripping already smh........
Honestly, after playing this latest batch, I can't really say that I'm impressed by it.
Saturalia was exactly what I expected, just go to a location and buy the clothes and reindeer.
Elite Crossbows was basically what I expected too. It's all around the Hideout I mentioned above, and you can probably complete it in 5-10 minutes even without fast travelling. But all it adds is the crossbows, it's disappointing they didn't add new matching bolts. At least you can craft upgraded versions of the crossbows, though.
Vigil Enforcer basically lies when it says you get "four unique armour sets". That makes me expect four significantly different sets, but it's basically just four different textures for the same set of armour. There's only two pieces that have unique models, and they're just on a table in the final area. And none of them are enchanted, so it's not like each set is supposed to be for certain playstyles. The quest for it is at least kind of interesting, though I ended up accidentally completed the most interesting bit without even trying. But hey, you can craft all of the armours (plus a few extra pieces only available through crafting), so that's nice.
Civil War Champions is actually a bit more than I expected, each side gets a full set of armour, a shield, a one handed weapon and a two handed weapon. The quest has more than one way to advance too, you can either use items or pass a speech check.
Sunder and Wraithguard was nice, you follow a trail of notes until you get to the main location (which is added on to an existing Dwarven location), and there's actually a pair of short puzzles and a unique looking enemy you need to beat to get the items.
And then there's Forgotten Seasons. It's completely underwhelming for what it was built up to be. For something that's called a "Puzzle Dungeon" in the files, there's only one bit that I'd say even kind of can be called a puzzle, and that's more because the game doesn't give any indication of where to go to complete an area, I only found it by luck. Like a lot of things in Skyrim, it mostly just ends up being combat and walking from one end to the other. I can't even say the areas look that nice, what stands out in my memory is big empty rooms and blank walls. The rewards you get for completing it are nice at least (if you can find some of them), but I wouldn't really say it's worth getting unless you really want a Dwarven horse. Maybe it's more interesting in Survival mode when the Summer/Winter sub-dungeons are more of a challenge, but I don't think that'll add that much.
If you just care about the quests, then there's definitely more gameplay in this batch compared to FO4's matching batch. All 3 of the new quests in FO4's are just go to a few locations, read some notes, fight the final enemy, get whatever item you're supposed to get. But at least in FO4 you can mod all the new weapons to make them more suitable for different playstyles, and there's a good amount of workshop items if you want to dress settlements up for Christmas. The outfits really aren't much, the Christmas ones are nothing special (though they can have ballistic weave), and the Slasher one has the clothes and mask as one item, so you're limited to what you can use them with. And, of course, almost all of the weapon/Pip-Boy paints are bugged and don't have their materials set up correctly. The armours might have the same problem too, but it's less noticeable and I haven't gone into the files to check.
Comparing all of the CC content for both games, it's really hard to say which one's better overall. FO4 would probably just win out because of the sheer amount of content, and the fact that there's new settlement items and moddable armour/weapons, but it's really let down by just how many skins there are, and the fact that some content was only available for a limited time. Skyrim has the advantage of Survivial Mode (though FO4 got its version through a free update instead) and being able to incorporate things into DLC, but a lot of it just doesn't seem worth using over vanilla items or items from mods. Of course, they're both let down a lot by bugs and oversights (which doesn't paint a good picture for FO76's future), which are definitely worse in FO4 from what I've experienced and read.
