We're dragons in the lore before Skyrim?
very much so, yes.
Yeah, Martin turns into one at the end of Oblivion.
He was the true scalie
Martin shatters the amulet of kings to turn into an avatar of Akatosh for about a minute before his body and soul just shatters into nonexsitence.
He trades a dynasty of power for a permanent solution to a massive problem, which de facto makes Martin smarter than 99% of the septim dynasty.
(Adding on to that)
Which is probably from trying to contain an actual god within a physical body on nirn
Only the gods themselves would know what having two beings of indescribable power so close to one of The towers might do to the city.
I hope he's okay tho (Martin) , he was a simple man with a normal life, I'd hate it if the gods took his entire being away from him for his noble sacrifice.
Seeing as almost all the towers in the world have been deactivated to some extent it's fair to assume the next game will be about the crystal tower in Alinor.
I thought Crystal Tower fell during the Oblivion crisis and the only one left was Direnni in High Rock?
Forgot that part.
TES VI is gonna be daggerfall 2 confirmed
I've been assuming the entire tower thing is going to end at Direnni (Adamantine) tower, because it makes narrative sense to end at the first tower ,where the (Stabilised) world began and the gods left the earth
Also, more controversially I think that it's gonna turn out that the heart of Snow-throat (The thing that keeps the tower working) was in fact Parthanaax, I mean he'd been there since the Merethic era and it'd be in keeping with TES protagonists accidentally destroying towers without realising the consequences (Numidium + Mantella in Daggerfall, Lorkhan's heart in Morrowind, Amulet of Kings in Oblivion)
I'd love it if you got some weird inter-dimension shit as a result of Warp in the West.
Would you mind posting some screenshots of the Corrupted Vigil armor? I can't find any pictures of it online that don't only show it from the side.
Here, I made a set of all the Vigil armours while I was at it, including the crafting only pieces.

Got ESO and the morrowind expansion for like $5 while it was on sale and my internet is atrocious so I can't do the videos. So i'll ask you guys a few things:
Robot pets?
I love the staff shield combo how disappointed will I be?
I'm coming off of warframe so using it as a reference should I expect more grinding or less?
What is the single most useful tip you could give to a player starting out?
It's been so long since I played the main quest. I don't remember it being terrible it's not anything to write home about. The DLC stories are generally more interesting overall, Clockwork City probably the best in the game thus far.
Yep
Somewhat, staffs are 2 handed but frost staff can be built for tanking.
Getting to max level takes a while but you'll never run out of quests. Only thing you might need to grind are crafting mats or specific region set drops.
Research gear with new traits as often as possible so you can expand your armor set crafting potential. This and This are gonna be your best friend.
What Qbe-tex and Sharker said.
Eso combat feels like morrowind: There's a douchebag every 20 meters and the combat is meh. The thing that saved morrowind was the alchemy, variety of magic, enchanting and spellcrafting but you can't do that here and magic although strong in ESO is extremely limited in its variety which is just a buzzkill. The sidequest stories are ok and some of the attention to detail is amazing but other than being a site seeing tour of Tamriel I don't think I'll stick around for more than 20 hours nor spend money on ingame currency.
Also who the fuck thought it was a good idea to make dwarven sphere pets limited time only accessible because they need to be hanged in public for their crimes against humanity.
I kind of want to fiddle around with Oblivion again, but before I do, does anyone know if Nehrim has problems with newer systems? This is from 2-3 years ago but I remember the last time I tried to play it it would always crash after first stepping out of the tutorial dungeon. I've always wanted to complete it and I figure it would fill my want for Oblivion while still being a new experience.
I know I've bitched up ESO already but it just is so bad it needs two posts: the hell does it offer over skyrim? With skyrim I get mods, I get to pilot dwarven airships upto dragons and blast them out of the sky with a god damn grenade launcher while fucking lydia over the bow. But with ESO? I get charged premium currency for wanting something that even remotely looks nice or Quality of life: decent weapon? 300 crowns. Nice looking garment? 550 crowns. dwarven robot horse? 1500 crowns. It's just... so bad considering that everything they charge you for is absolutely free in Skyrim and there's no excuse for it.
I know you can get a supply of crowns from being a subscriber but I already paid for the game why should I pay $20 more for something I paid for?
"But its morrowind and sotha sil! dlc isn't all that bad!" Yeah and skyrim has solstheim which is like the same size, layout and very similar story as the original morrowind While also having the wheels of lull mod.
ESO offers nothing I don't already have and I'm frustrated at how greedy it is.
It's multiplayer. It's a MMO.
You play ESO because you want to play an Elder Scrolls MMO. You play Skyrim because you want to play solo, single player, with custom content.
Vvardenfell is about 5 km^2 smaller than skyrim and although far larger than solstheim keep in mind it has a lot more empty space.
yo quick question; is there any way I can grab the CK for Skyrim SE without having to install Bethesda.net?
I already have the game on Steam and don't want to have to install a whole extra launcher I'm never going to use just to make my own adjustments to mods.
Nope, sadly.
You might be able to add the CK or bathesdo.net as non-Steam games at the least.
If you just want to adjust mods xEdit might suit you perfectly well, as well.
I'm pretty sure you can just uninstall the launcher after downloading the CK, I don't think it relies on the launcher in any way. You may want to keep it around in case you have issues or are intending on uploading stuff to Bethesda.net, but even for that I don't think it's actually necessary, I've just never tested it to find out for sure.
anyone know any good guides for modding Oblivion? i tried to follow one
https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/48448
but it just nothing but issues.
I'd like to point out that the Mages Guild questline in ESO is funny, you have to interact with Uncle Sheo. I still haven't played Shivering Isles and by doing the MG questline, I understood why everyone loves Sheogorath.
The games always do a bad job of showing all of his sides though, read some of the lore books about him and you will see he can be even more evil than the worst daedra.
I'm not a high level lorebeard, but the new TESO Argonian lore doesn't fit at all with my interpretation of the (admittedly esoteric as all hell) Argonian lore
Previously Argonians have always been somewhat detached from standard TES race lore and mysterious. From the novels we can tell how significant the Hist are to them and their life cycle (with the Umbriel Hist being able to recreate creature from their memories, with their soul reincarnating as such and implying their presence within the Dreamsleeve).
However the TESO books include a creation myth that seems oddly contradictory to this, often repeating motifs from the Redguard myths of the Snake and such. While I (as someone who believes the Hist to be a trans-kalpic entity) see this as incongruous to established lore, perhaps there is something I have been missing?
I've been an Argonian lore nerd since I read The Argonian Account (I know it's a fictional account inspired by second hand sources but whatever) and this bothers me a lot
Argonians never made much sense to me as a casual player. From my play time in Oblivion and Skyrim they always seemed like any other man or mer, but more scalie. At the very least I could get a sense of culture by talking to the Khajitt.
The only time I've ever had that "wow they're different" feeling was in TESO when I saw they're mini Hist in some Dark Elf city.
I have a feeling I know how this post is going to be received but ESO lore just isn't canon to me. A lot of it just so obviously contrived and there to give a thin justification for the vicissitudes of the MMO experience. I believe people when they say ESO is 'good' from a gameplay point of view but it will never click with me on a more meaningful level.
Take for example the fact that the lore conveniently accommodates for three perfectly balanced coalitions of nonsensically, acrimoniously opposed peoples. It's just too much given the very well established facts of the setting. Yes, you can explain away anything in fiction, but you have to follow your own rules. And just from a visual point of view it surpasses the original games in looking like totally run-of-the-mill horseshit. If you walked into it fresh then I can see how it would seem very original but all of its originality is lifted completely from the mainline series and the things it does make up, at least in art assets, are so,so disappointing.
When I learned that the Argonians and Dunmer were allied it threw me all out of whack. Hell, the Dunmer STILL enslave the Argonians, but they call it indentured servitude instead. The the fucking Nords are there to keep the alliances balanced.
