no reason why it shouldn't, you can already influence ai event choices with factor = # and conditions. just make the conditions be whatever the fuck the configs set, probably a global/tag flag and factor like 999999 lmao
probably it'll be a side mod or something at first. in any case it'll save me from editing 30 countries event files every time
What are the chances we'll see some seriously cool post war/cold wars DLC for HOI4 in the future?? That's one aspect I've felt HOI badly misses since the beginning, the game's playtime could be doubled if it's scope expanded beyond just one war and had some cool stuff to do after.
Even if they did, they won't add a new Start Date.
I love this covers the attack on the Panay boat and using that as an excuse to wreck Japan.
Germanic runs are always so fun.

Always be sure to have your jails well-stocked with Frankish bishops to ensure that every blot is a great one. No goats for our jarldom.
Apparently Man the Guns breakdown 2 I posted above, he accidentally revealed something coming in a later patch, not in MtG itself. I don't have everything coming in MtG memorized, so I don't know what it was.

Since when has there ever been peace?
HOI4 Patch is live, DLC goes live in 10 minutes (12 Eastern)
Lots of customization option added, you can force a kaiser ai Germany (no achievements though).

There is an Easter Egg event chain in Man the Guns that lets you get QEII as leader of Monarchist UK, it's currently bugged, but will be fixed next patch.
It's very convoluted, just like the Queen Victoria and HRE path for the German Empire, so it's very unlikely the AI will do it. This is clearly meant for players to do.
Edward needs to agree to a morganatic marriage, during a war London needs to be strategically bombed. There will be a chance for Edward and Wallis to die, George VI will take over, and 4 years after 1941, he will die and QEII will take over.
Oh and another one, if Germany falls to civil war, there is a 0.5% chance of Hitler fleeing to America (along with another 0.5% chance to flee to Argentina), and become a candidate for President if the USA goes Fascist.

HoI4 is probably the paradox game i find most interesting but i really suck at it, doesnt help that a lot of the lets plays or tutorials are outdated
Alright, so is it worth buying HoI4 + MtG + WtT as a start, assuming the whole thing bloody works on my toaster?
For the most part I doubt the tutorials and lets plays wouldn't be valid. Not much has changed in that regard. All I do is build industry first few years, make my divisions 20/40 width, build a large stockpile of guns and maked 2-6 armies depending who I'm playing as. The AI is so retarded the game is kinda easy so long as you have troop/industry superiority. I mean, I played earlier as U.S. with the civil war from MTG, ended up beating Constiutionalists, Canada and UK all with about 48 units of basic infantry and the Free corps and 2 marine divisions.
For focus tree's you generally want to go down stuff that gives you free industry, political power, economy laws and other stuff that buffs you. Same with research, Industry first, Land doctrine always on research(and whatever you think you'll be using next), new equipment lower priority.
I aint a min maxer and this is my way that I do things and isn't even close to efficient, but it works plenty well for me.
HOI4 pisses me off because there's no way to negotiate peace, it's either you ass blast the enemy into oblivion or you give up literally everything.
I seem to have gotten worse at HoI after 800hrs, Man the Guns is really kicking my ass for whatever reason, doesn't help that the new naval stuff feels needlessly convoluted. The research tree could be laid out much better n all.

ah so funny ja ja!
Is it just me or did they restrict Iron man to 1948? I ended a war with the US in '51 and immediately got greeted with the score screen and a quit button. It wouldn't let me click anything else.
Anyone figure out how to convert battleships and cruisers to carriers yet?
Yeah they have, I just hit the end game after fighting a massive war with all of Europe and the Soviets as the CSA, so now I can't get the 'Georgia on my mind' acheivement because the game has technically ended before the war has. Dumb change, HoI games are short as is and now all they've done is made them shorter. It's not like going after acheivements at the end game is easy or fun or anything, I'd rather restart than fight a forever war against infinite troops at 2 frames a second.
That's so stupid. Outright makes a bunch of achievements needlessly difficult.
It's more like Age of Wonders 3 in a sci-fi skin, and I am pretty okay with this.
How in the ever loving fuck do I change my fleets home base in Man the Guns?? This is really frustrating because because I've taken over Hawaii as Germany and yet for some reason my ships can't reach the mainland USA despite being docked in Hawaii.
Finally picked up Holy Fury and have been throwing more hours at CK2.
Several generations in to a merchant republic playthrough on a randomized world, I have a big wall of trade posts stretching almost the entirety of the Iberian peninsula, with about 30 gold a turn and 7.5k in the bank to boot. The family mansion has been upgraded to the point where I can immediately spawn my own personal host of almost 3k troops to bitch slap raiders.
I have also started waging expansionistic war for the first time as an MR. Mercenaries generally make the outcome a foregone conclusion, but playing whack-a-mole with scattered armies of less than a thousand units gets old fast.
I have an opportunity to claim a kingdom title and start turning the Empire of Hispania into my own Principality. Still trying to figure out how to reach 100 gold per turn.
