Fair point. But the fact still remains HoI4 is about as casual and shallow as you can get while still being called a grand strategy.
Im more or less inclined to make a mod where every single produced infantry equipment in the game have different stats depending on your nation to make lend lease, production licenses and captured equipment play a bigger role.
When you get to the grand strategy scale the individual differences between different infantry rifles/webbing sets make no difference, so there's no real point
Arguably some equipment matters. The only real thing keeping German infantry squads on par with U.S. in terms of firepower was their MG34's and 42's. But we're not just talking about individual equipment. We're talking about Vehicles, planes, ships, etc. A 109 is just about superior to every plane it would come across in 1939, barring some early spitfires for instance.
Someone please remake this thread on knockout. Not a big poater myself but this is the only thread I subscribe to for some of the ck2 and other paradox game news. It was fun see you there.
