some stuff from the spartan field manual explains the melding of both artstyles
Mjolnir GEN3 is finally mentioned for the first time as a an upgrade to Spartan 4 armour, and the designers of GEN3 decided to implement the more "protective designs" of GEN1 armour while retaining all the upgrades learned from GEN2's run. so it's not actually old armour at all, it's all technically new shit reusing older designs
we really are gonna be getting the best of both worlds
It's just a bullshit excuse to explain the Retcon, but I don't care, it looks so much better they could just say nanomachines did it.
hardly since it's barely a retcon
either way, i'm very curious to see what 343 armours return
I don't care if space magic is the excuse, seeing the artstyle improve is great.
What retcon?
Chief getting out of his GEN2 armour and stepping into a new suit isn't a retcon.
For any Canadian Halo fans living in Nova Scotia, there is a Halo Firetime Raven machine at the Bowlarama Spryfield/Halifax
Bad part is that it's in Spryfield so just getting there is basically the same experience as shooting your way through a Halo game
So I was reading a Star Wars comic and noticed something very familiar
Looks an awful lot like a AI Data chip

peep the artist? maybe they worked on a halo comic
343 found the E3 '03 Demo for Halo 2, they streamed it today...

E3 Demo anniversary MCC DLC when.
FORERUNNER TANK WHEN
Awesomeness would've ensued 😢
Speaking of lost Halo 2 levels, did anyone play the Destiny 2 level where you destroy The Almighty and think, Huh, they finally got to make "Covenant Ship."
But anybody who wanted to make Covenant Ship would have already left Bungie
The Drake is a pretty good successor to the Scorpion though, my favorite thing about it is the turret can pop out to traverse further downard because you can tell they're as sick of tanks being unable to shoot over hills as we are

So tons of animations are actually only a few frames and the engine interpolates them, the mg weapon only has 5 frames. I uhh, got the quantization wrong and this was the result of changing a single frame. Dong banger.
Jason Jones is still there. He's still the big idea guy.

Hey I could make that in Halo 3/ED.
The last time I tried to scale every object on the map though it actually killed my previous Xbox 360... Fun times.
It was actually pretty fun making huge vehicle combat/racing maps in the Halo engine.
Did anyone notice the wobble in the SMG? That was because the map was so big and the player was so far from the origin that floating point errors were happening. It happens in Reach and Halo 5 since cutscenes are actually in the map geometry as opposed to spawned in on demand or below the level like H3.
at least it's not half-life 2 noclip out of the level at superhuman speeds bad
My brother and I beat both Halo 3 and Reach on Co-Op heroic. What a god damn excellent series. I especially like how the series starts and ends with the exact same scene. That's some damn good writing.
The Halo you see at the end of Reach is the very same model and texture from the OG Halo 1. It's perfectly fitting.
And go play ODST if you haven't already, you won't regret it.
I'm already near the end of ODST. Just trying to get all the Codecs before I finish.
bring a banshee through the door with you.
ODST is my second favourite Halo for sure. I always wanted to see more of the war through the "average"guy's eyes, plus the story itself was pretty interesting. The somber tone and fantastic soundtrack is really good, even if it's not always perfect.
Not to mention the cast of firefly make anything better.
Are Halo Reach's servers even still alive, and more importantly, active?
