Our current plan is for this journey to begin with the launch of Halo: Reach – the fictional beginnings of Master Chief’s saga – with the rest of the titles following in chronological order thereafter. Halo: Reach, Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST (Campaign), and Halo 4 will each be available for individual purchase within MCC as they become available. And each game will evolve and grow over time with community input.
It means you don't have to waste money buying Halo 4.
I'm sure they'll have a bundle price once all the games are finished and released.
If they are seperate they're probably $10-20ish each.
reach being first is great, since it's my fave
Never played Halo before and I'm super stoked to finally be able to play them. all. I've avoided 1 and 2 for years because I was afraid I'd like them too much and not be able to play the rest.
The first thought going through my head was "Oh, MCC on PC. Alright it's coming Windows Store and... and Steam?? And Halo: Reach is being added to the MCC???". Needless to say, from the many thoughts I'm having after such shocking news (Halo: Reach without Frame-Rate nosediving nor that bloody-awful Motion Blur, the possibility of porting Halo: Custom Edition content and/or restoring Xbox 360 File Share data officially/unofficially, playing Halo 3 with ODST viewmodel placement if not better, making use of Xbox Live requirements on Steam to provide cross-platform File Share support), there was the immediate & most important question: "Forklifts in Forge when?"
I can't fucking believe it's on Steam. We could possibly throw ElDewrito right on Halo 3 and call it a day. And they're all gonna have the original menus. I wonder what H2A's main menu will look like.
I'm kinda hoping Reach will get the armor pieces from newer games so we can have more customization.
I've been waiting for this day for so long. Time to get back into Halo and lose my life to it again.
I got hired at 343i (as a contractor! I'm not an FTE) after being laid off from my last job, which was really fucking surreal. Halo is really what got me into gaming so this has been a wild ride. I've been waiting for this announcement since I got hired and I'm SO fucking excited oh my god. I can try to answer questions, but I'm unable to say anything about pricing or release dates/timing. There are other things I can't speak about because of NDA too, and I'm on the Infinite team - so I'm not working on MCC or the Reach port, unfortunately. It should be a good port though, we're really working hard to work community-first. It's been fantastic seeing how excited everyone is, though :D
I only remember more of Halo 1, Halo 2 not so much. but I'm stocked for Halo 3. ODST and Reach since I have no knawledge about those. Can't wait to relive some memories this is like Serious Sam HD all over again for me.
Well there was this one helmet one time: https://i.imgur.com/dfkNdd0.jpg Myself, I'd much rather be able to have more liberated customisation options for the existing inventory (Asking for two robot arms may be a bit much, but being able to just plop Wrist Gear on both wrists, choose individual Knee-pads, and particularly being able to just put on all the Helmet Gear to just about any Helmet on either/both sides would be grand!)
Well now we won't have to huddle around Halo Online Eldewrito and hoping everything doesn't break, no offense to those amazing guys. Just a couple years ago, and even prior to all the hints dropping, this whole thing was a "never ever", and now minds are blown.
Granted I'm a new employee (and working very carefully in how I phrase this): but there were genuinely a lot of issues preventing a PC port. Things changed though, and iirc higher-ups realized the value of a PC release in expanding the market outweighed the cost of working around these issues.
We can probably see if we can port the unique Halo: Online assets from it (Maps notably, but weapons certainly a delicious thought, plus that Brute Chopper retexture is a proper beauty), if not the File Share content or mods made with Eldewrito, so plenty of potential to ensure it remains valuable.
The Halo Subreddit changed its logo. If you hoever over it a slice vanishes. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/108621/ba0800d1-5691-4667-9912-7d7198759803/image.png
I'm thinking there will be pizza easter eggs in every MCC game now.
THEY'RE SHOWING OFF PIZZA, HALO REACH, AND PLAYING ON PC IN LIKE 1280X720 WINDOWED https://twitter.com/ske7ch/status/1105599927973928960
The absolute madman.
It's been a scheme all along to bring Hot Pockets back to #1
someone sent us a bunch of pizza, it was getting dropped off as i left haha
I haven't actually completed reach due to the shit frame rate and ghosting effect. Crossing my fingers that they'll go the extra mile and add custom content support. I had so much fun playing around with custom edition. I can't imagine the amount of stuff that the Reach engine will support.
To this day I still think the magnum in Halo is the single greatest starting pistol to ever grace a video game.

I'm interested in the modding potential. Imagine having the entirety of New Alexandria forgeable.
Can confirm. This dudes 343. Tell Facepunch 343 says hello and you guys rock.
https://steamdb.info/depot/976730/ Here's the Steam Depot if anyone wants to check in on it, it looks like Reach and two others are seeing activity.
Kinda hoping they do a beta to iron out bugs before the official release.
It's time to come home
