Would a packaged by generation editing kit be too much to work for? People are still working on unmaining the H2EK all these years later.
Damnit i really want a pizza now.
I wonder, they said the individual games will be available for purchase within the app, does that mean you'll have to buy both MCC as well as the games, or will MCC itself be a free download?

I’m guessing there will be a wrapper program, and the games themselves will be DLC
I've set up a Facepunch Halo Discord so we can do stuff once MCC drops: https://discord.gg/7bbmN7m
Wait where did you hear this about the menus?
I also want to know this.
I don't think I've ever been this jealous of a person before
Oh the guy from before released his unblurred image https://twitter.com/klobrille/status/1105577658384044032?s=21
Yeah, i don't believe that menu thing, it would be dumb to not have it work like Xbox. I like the whole play a game of Halo 2 then go over to 3 without closing the game and reinviting everyone again.
I doubt the menus will be seperate. MCC will probably just show one game and that will be it.
Blog Post from the team will be posted soon regarding MCC, our involvement, and the future of ElDewrito. Link /u/RabbidSquabbit: Just an FYI - I have seen many many incorrect assumptions about the team and ElDewrito, as well as MCC. I have been given 343’s blessing so I will post a blog in the next couple days on behalf of the team regarding MCC, our team’s involvement, and the future of ElDewrito.
What if they hired some of the ED guys to help with the port
I can actually put Halo on my Steam wishlist????? i never got to experience Halo growing up. My best friend in high school was a big fan, he necer spoiled anything for me thankfully. I always hoped one day I’d get to play like the whole series. I remember watching the first level for reach back when I was high school one night when I couldn’t get to sleep, it was in that pre let’s play/pewdiepie era of Youtube, so no commentary and no webcam just the game. Never thought I’d actually get to play it. yet here we are, i am beyond excited to experience halo.
Hey it looks like we finally got the classic artstyle forklift.
What if they just straight-up hired the entire team like Valve did with the TFC, Counter-Strike, and Portal guys? Also, since Halo MCC is soon going to be a PC game I can now actively play it and I am super happy so prepare to see me post in this thread. Loved the series to death, Reach was literally a full year of my high school experience, I spent the entire year listening to Papa Roach and Disturbed and playing Reach. My biggest achievement was getting enough cR to unlock the birthday party death effect. I also played a fucking ton of El Dewrito around when it got shot down by 343, even with its super limited scope (thank god they got that update that added dual wielding out) it was and is still an amazing experience, and as much as I love Reach's Forge, it honestly can't compare, ED's forge is the closest to actual Hammer-esque map editing I've ever done, and it's just as fun as actual Halo for me. So, some inquiries since I never touched the MCC: From what I understand, it's all for the 360 games, and from what I've seen, ODST still needs to be added after they launch the PC port. So, from what I'm gathering, that means 3 has multiplayer, Reach has multiplayer, and there's a special Halo 2 Anniversary multiplayer. Is that correct? And aside from that, just how accurate is the multiplayer for each game? Does Reach still have the absolutely amazing Forge and Forge World? Does it still have the armor abilities and updated weapons and everything? Did they make any notable changes? What about the cR/in-game credits system? Also, what about the Firefight/multiplayer PvE modes? Do they make a full return as well?
Being "given 343's blessing" sounds an awful lot like "our NDA has been lifted" but I can't say I'm an expert on such things. That being said I hope this doesn't mean a cessation on the development (just upkeep now?) of ED.
For Reach, its still entirely unclear, but for everything else, its: Halo 1 anniversary campaign, with reversible graphics Halo 1 PC multiplayer ported, with its new maps Halo 2 anniversary campaign, with reversible graphics Halo 2 anniversary multiplayer, remade multiplayer of most of halo 2's maps and gameplay systems Halo 2 original multiplayer, without BXR since its based off the Windows Vista version. Halo 3 campaign and multiplayer with all DLC. Player customization is limited as you can only select full armor sets (unless they changed that in an update) ODST campaign was later added as $5 paid DLC on Xbox. No Firefight however.
Do you know/is there a site that mentions any specific differences between the ogs and ports? I'd be insanely impressed if it's just a full-on completely accurate port job since that means they must really value whatever code they used to make the games and made it future-proofed enough that they could port it to the Xbone. I'd imagine Halo 1's multiplayer at least is literally just a port then? Probably not nearly as populated as the other games, though probably more populated than Halo 1's actual PC servers. Also, are there any notable differences that'd make Halo 2's multiplayer stand out? I feel like 1, 3, and Reach all have enough different from eachother that their multiplayers could stand on their own, but 2's multiplayer always just seemed like proto-Halo 3.
Your link doesn't go anywhere
Well, I do know for a fact on the multiplayer side, it was a mess when it first came out. Mostly due to the way matching worked, I think. A lot of people just liked the way 2's multiplayer felt, its faster than 3 for sure (in my experience) and it was the first game in the series that had a lot of esports presence. I believe 2 and 3 behave differently AI wise, because they weren't made with 60fps in mind. The AI is more aggressive. I noticed this especially on Halo 2, I don't know if they ever patched that however. Might be tied to engine.

according to this guy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kl_yhtc-ku0 he (and a bunch of other Halo YT'ers) have known about this for at least 6 months. daaang.
Halo Anniversary is based on the PC port which lacks some of the graphical features from original Xbox game. A summary of issues: visual demonstration lacks certain shaders, ie jackal shields, cov shields, dropship plasma, AR shaders loss of shader_transparent_generic missing multipurpose/bitmap maps missing reflection masks missing detail masks broken blend modes some script encounters are broken broken fog broken atmosphere effects multipurpose/bitmap maps of bsps do not react with radiosity lighting c_field_Generators broken Most of these issues can easily be fixed in the tags except the jackal shields and c_field_Generators due to the loss of shader_transparent_generic. Microsoft forcing Gearbox to support fixed function hardware may have had something to do with those missing features.
Don't forget Halo 4. Even though most would like to forget it and Halo 5.
....oh yeah halo 4 did kind of slip through my mind. huh but yeah thats also in there with all the DLC.
Halo 4 was such a hype announcement when it came out, it was huge in its own right. I'm still a little bit surprised to see people say they can't believe they get to play Halo 4 on PC, though.
This news excited me so much that had to check back all those great advertisement videos they did for Halo 3 and Reach. Now all PC players who weren't able to play Halo 3/Reach can watch these videos also. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=40jdpzrpIps https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=18-_9E0HNY4
