I do graphics stuff (really don't touch more than the graphics/fx code), and probably won't have a way to find who added this - but I can do my best to see that it's made clear how appreciated the feature was i'm glad i'm a recent hire because keeping my hype bottled up that long would've been challenging haha
any word on centered reticles?
MCC is probably being prepped to be a launch title for the next XBox so if it can include 5 and Infinite at launch with crossplay at 60 FPS/4K so they can get those sweet console sales.
I'll have to take a look around, it's unlikely I can answer this one either because talking about features is too close to NDA or I won't be able to find out. I'll try, though!
I hope they give the option to disable Reach's film grain as well, if not then that'll probably be one of the first mods
Hit me up on Steam if you want to co-op Marathon Infinity or the Myth games.
I know Marathon's free, but where can I find Myth now? I wanna try it.
I hope they say if MCC will be Windows 10 only or not.
Considering how Windows 7 got DirectX 12 support recently I don't think it'll be Windows 10 exclusive
You all seem to forgetting its using the xbox integration thats in Windows 10 only. So its going to be windows 10 only. Furthermore, MCC isn't on DX12.
We haven't had an XB Live integrated game on steam before, so it's hard to say if that's it.
I thought Halo Wars was, but it looks like it isn't, that may be tied to it having Windows 7/8.x support.
It might also mean you have to log into your X-Box Account in game.
I'd hope my computer already being logged in on my Microsoft account and tied to my Xbox account would handle this automatically.
That's how it works with the other XBL games on PC. You might get a popup requiring you to confirm you want to play using the account but then it will remember it and "just work". Might be a bit different if the game winds up supporting Windows 7, as Windows 7 doesn't have the XBL integration that Windows 10 does.
Any word on if the framerate will be unlocked? im pretty keen on this as long as its a proper PC version.
Franklez confirmed adjustable reticle (I think), https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/1232/846c12b2-9a09-485a-b44c-88a3d351a803/image.png so that's something
No, that is referring to modern control settings that they just put into MCC.
Did some research into who is helping port MCC. https://www.reddit.com/r/halo/comments/b10j9u/psa_whos_helping_port_mcc/
This is title-by-title and is up to developers to implement. It also involves likely running with a reduced featureset and reduced DX12 performance (compared to what it could achieve with a better OS backing it)
Interesting that Splash Damage is jumping in to help with this porting process right after their final update for Dirty Bomb that removed the monetization. I'm guessing when they were going for greener pastures, no one realized it was Master Chief green.
So I've been getting really into the hype train for Reach and found out about this fan comic about Noble Team called A Fistfull of Arrows which seems to be held in pretty high regard amongst some fans and even has an accompanying soundtrack. Has anyone here read it? A Fistful of Arrows
I read it back in it's earlier days. It really was a proper good piece of fan-work & one of my favourite Halo-reads, one of which I think both Bungie & 343 Industries took an appreciation of themselves. It even got a soundtrack by Sean Mortensen! His previous comic & other materials can be found here (I did rather like his 'A Sangheili's War is Never Over'): http://leviathan.bungie.org/ I still fondly remember Levi's 'Halo 4: Sword & Shield' concept for Halo 4, which sported a lot more familiar faces, Bungie tropes and had the idea of Chief getting his armour jury-rigged to play Crysis/Metroid Prime style. It's easy to get Part 1 up, but I think there's 9-10 of them (Most if not all still on Halo.Bungie.org, so Google searches should find you them if HBO can't rediret you to them). They did support The Coalition with Gears of War: Ultimate Edition & Gears of War 4 multiplayer, so I guess they figured why not cross that bridge again. Shame Dirty Bomb didn't do better for them. It was quite the game indeed (Server Browser was a big plus in my book). I at least know of where Myth II can be found: http://projectmagma.net/
While not the biggest fan of the Deathmatch/objective PvP game modes... I will admit I am looking forward to playing single player and online coop again in these franchises...
ever since the announcement i've had a fever, and the only cure is 500 hours of invasion baybee
This may be unpopular but I hope they add vehicle spawn protection for Invasion. There was nothing more frustrating other than playing for the objective as an Elite and having a spartan camping in your base to steal a banshee you have no hopes of retaliating against.
After getting excited about the recent news I decided to install halo 2 and do something I've always wanted to try https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/216462/9544b004-0d7c-4501-a49e-469f871b6c9d/scarab1.png I fucking love how much halo 1/2/3 encourage exploring out of the map, especially halo 2. Bring it back for infinite pls
I long for a modern Halo with no invisible walls in Campaign.

Yep, I completely understand locking off the level in multiplayer, but the campaign should be as free as you want (to an extent). It weirdly adds a lot of replay value because you can load up a mission you've played to death and then spend an hour trying to parkour your way up a cliff to find easter eggs or just admire the view. Imagine if 343 added a skull in infinite that removes the invisible player/vehicle barriers, maybe you can only unlock it by beating the campaign on legendary without dying, or some series of achievments like the vidmaster ones.
