Or just be like Bungie back in the day and not give a shit that players can jump out of the levels and run around the geometry outside.
Expect the exact same game from 2010, no changes. That's the MCC way. Even the Title Updates are debatable.
man some of my best halo 2 memories was joining glitch lobbies my friends made and doing shit like getting out of the map by doing the rocket/sword lunge glitch or superbouncing
As absurdly lenient as Bungie were there are still certain barriers/checks in the levels that prevent full exploration (which are fun to work around in their own right). An example being In "The Covenent" in Halo 3 you have to backtrack after going up into a mountain to do a task, and when you get back down to the beach you're given some hornets. An invisible barrier prevents flying them back up to the original area or going too far up and over the mountains, you CAN get around this by pushing it with a warthog but it would be fun to have 100% of the playerclip removed as a reward for completing a task.
I never managed to do that. Damn banshees would never follow.
Personally I don't think it's worth the effort. I did it a few time but once you get the Scarab gun you're already over half way through the level. If you could carry it into the next Chief level it would be more worth doing.
There's an achievement in MCC to find the Scarab gun.
so many people on reddit are asking for old customisation back (i.e per part rather than in sets), i think a lot of them don't realise how hard that would be to implement.
Maybe they shouldn't have taken it out in the first place. It was already in Halo 3 and Reach.
The fact that it's like that at all indicates to me at least that they were very rushed for time and put a bandage solution on a universal UI. Unfortunately the company that made the UI no longer exists.
What makes it so hard to do? Splitting up models into multiple smaller models doesn't seem like it would be that hard to do.
didn't they saying some about size?
That sounds like bullshit. If Halo 3 and Reach could do it on a 360 the MCC should easily be able to do it on the Xbone.
It's a combination of UI and backend problems, I believe. it's not a trivial fix
yeah, but it's all those games combined.
I'm pretty sure doing customization individually for each game would involve loading a map from that game in-engine everytime you wanted to customize something. I don't think there's a good way to make image-previews look good when it comes to individual parts (you can't get a good look at your spartan if they're images layered on top of one another i'd say).
To be fair, Reach is where they went really crazy with part customization, 3's was simplisitic. Plus, since it's possible they worked with the ED team, who worked with the part customization in ED, it might ve possible.
wait will Reach not have the super complex customization anymore? cus that's a real fuckin shame if so
Nobody knows yet, everyone's just speculating based upon what happened to 3. Ehhhhhh, I'd disagree there. Back in the day when I was in high school and bored I'd load up VANITY to design spartans which let you layer up images and that looked fantastic and I'd be more than happy if they had to do something like that Vanity
Since the game would have to load a game engine and a map to do per part visual customization, just have a brief load screen into the differing customization menus. I'd gladly have full customization behind a few seconds of loading.
The problem is that it's a core piece of Reach. That's your Noble Six in campaign, you can make him look like whatever you want.
I fail to see the technical limitation here. I'm serious.
so, as an update - i pretty much can't respond to any direct inquiries about upcoming titles. mostly, its outside of the scope of my role (understandable). and given that I've just started and i'm not even a true FTE here, I just can't risk it or push the boundaries. BUT: I can do my best to direct things to the right people, and it's not just feedback that gets discarded. I'll be trying to keep an eye on this thread for concerns and ideas, promise! I was a huge fan of the customization Reach gave us, so I'm just as hopeful that that returns. also, w regards to the art direction: there's a Halo Waypoint post that directly confronts that I hope you can see nods to some of that [learning from the community response] in our demo [E3 '18], such as the approach to some visual elements. Halo Infinite will feature Sparth’s (Art Director, Nicolas Bouvier) new art style that draws significant inspiration from the most iconic and historic parts of the Halo franchise and your feedback, all while modernizing and taking advantage of the full power of the Xbox One family. The new Master Chief helmet directly showcases our new art style. this is probably about all I can say about that - the guidelines about what we can say about Infinite are effectively just "don't" for now. I've thought about saying this in the SH thread about the MCC too, but I can't say enough to really do any good I feel unfortunately.
Ske7ch is suppose to talk more about MCC on Sunday, anyone know the time? also, maybe an AMA next week https://i.imgur.com/J2842Kz.png (from here)
All I want is a general roadmap of release dates.
Some time between 9:30am and 3pm Pacific. I don't think they've given a time slot yet.
i know i sound entitled, but... I NEED IT. (jk 343 take ur time <3 u)

God I'd pop off if they shadow drop it. Unlikely seeing as it is a sunday but could you imagine
I'm at *The Library* in Halo: CE and I want to rip my brain out.
