Just finished ODST. Really hope has a similar map like it did. Plus it felt like a horror game at times, which is an aspect I wish Halo used more. Also the engineers were kinda cute.
I only played a bit of ODST, but i really enjoyed its atmosphere. That being said, it's only worth its camapaign (unless there's something amazing about its firefight).
ODST really only is its campaign, the firefight mode is just an endless wave until you die.
I wonder if they'll do what they did with the last large MCC update and do that beta program again.
The recent announcements has given me halo fever, so I just spent the day playing through reach again. The final objective of that game might be one of the best moments ever in gaming for me. Still so fucking impactful.
I've got a copy of the MCC coming to me either today or tomorrow too, so I'm going to marathon all the other games too. I've never played 4 or 5 either so I'm excited to see what I missed.
It's so relieving to see developers actually communicate with their community and to be honest about what people should expect.
AMA confirmed for Tuesday morning, probably on r/gaming. Also Insider flighting for PC!

Signed up to hopefully play the reach beta (again )
according to the stream there is crossplay between Steam and Windows Store. No crossplay with consoles at launch, but they are considering it.
Time to bring this back

Ah since there is cross-Steam/Windows Store multiplayer, they need your Steam account for MP testing.
it was really great how it was like a Blade Runner neo-noir thing too, that's just such an inspired direction and i'd be surprised if we ever get anything else quite like that. i actually remember reading in Official Xbox Magazine that the game was modeled as a melancholy noir detective story set in a single city, and the 12 year old me who just wanted to schut alleins was like "what the fuck am i reading?"
and then it came out, i heard the saxophones and sad piano keys and it all clicked
If insider testing starts soon, then a summer release might be likely.
I'm guessing since they know that like 90% of people will probably buy it on Steam, it makes more sense to test it on the store that the majority of people would use.
Plus there is MP between the two platforms, they'd want to test that too.
I had the volume down kind of low, all I heard was "on the gaming reddit" but it could also have been "on the game's reddit". Either way I'm sure it'll be announced on Ske7ch's twitter.

I still have the Reach beta sticker on the front of my ODST box, bring it back
This might have been obvious, but the sign up ISN'T 'first come first serve'

I think previously being an Insider might help. If you were part of the MCC Xbox Insider program last year, you might have a better chance.
What a time to be fixing my Windows boot partition.
Got gifted Xbox Live, and played Halo in some online play for the first time in a decade - only to get put in CE Boarding Action 4v4, where my team lost and my nine kills was still at the bottom of the leaderboard. Hoo boy am I rusty.
