Are you kidding? She has a HUUUUGE fanbase. Hell I'm pretty sure they axed Vol'Jin solely because they wanted to put her in there because she's a fan favorite and is easier to sell the sexy goth elf to edgy kids. And Blizzard knows they can get away with her being undead hitler because those same people will try to justify everything she does.
I don't get it, but people love her.
I've always liked Sylvanas. I don't really like how they are writing her now though.
Sylvanas always worked really well as that one really screwed up character who would be running around kicking puppies and raising them as her servants if she felt like she could get away with it, but that only works when there are other leaders holding her in check.
Having a character like that leading one of the factions really doesn't work unless that entire faction is just as evil as they are, and the Horde just isn't no matter how hard blizzard tries to write them like that now. They were always disparate races with different outlooks but adjacent goals.
The whole Garrosh thing was Metzen circlejerking the plot through his Thrall self-insert. Sylvanas' storyline feels like an edgy fanfic as well.
Arthas was legit my favorite character in lore.
I felt kinda bad about this. I've been conditioned to see everything that is red as a target.
If any of y'all use TSM, don't bother updating to 4.0. The ui is significantly worse, looks like a winamp skin from 2003, and it's missing a number of features at the moment. You also can no longer disable components individually, and the mail part apparently breaks some addons that auto-sell junk and repair your gear even if you click the 'switch to wow ui' button.

If you're wondering, no, there is no alternate skin and in the discord they said they don't have any current plans to develop one.
Why would anyone think that looks good?
programmer art and they're too proud to admit it's bad
How does marksmanship hunter work now? I've been playing it a bit recently but it feels janky.
keep aimed shot charges below 2 > rapid fire > aimed shot > arcane shots with the buff > steady shots to regen focus > arcane shots if you're about to cap focus and have no aimed shots.
when you're about to trueshot, get aimed shot charges to 0, then cast it. it is a little clunky with trueshot being on the gcd but you get used to it eventually, just gotta train yourself not to pop swifty on pull
for aoe, just multishot before every rapid or aimed shot and otherwise do your single target, just sub out arcane shot for multishot
there are breakpoints for how much focus you should get below before you cast rapid fire, i think it's 75 without the talent and 69 with.
opener should look something like aimed shot -> 1-2 arcane shots depending on buff -> rapid fire -> aimed shot (or arcane shot if you're too close to focus cap, then aimed shot) -> 1-2 arcane shots -> aimed shot -> 1-2 arcane shots -> trueshot. you probably won't have to do the third aimed shot when you hit cap since haste will be low, but we'll see when we get there. it's actually a much more traditional spec compared to the marked shot version, which i really did not enjoy after sidewinders got nerfed - spend a few minutes on a target dummy following the first sentence's priority and you'll quickly get used to it

Also I love how both alliance and horde are trashing Sylvanas for burning the world tree and going full elf genocide on unarmed people
I've fallen in love with WoW again after falling out of it post-launch WoD. what servers do EU peeps here play, and besides the newfangled community thing is there any chill FP guilds?
I think you'll find most EU players on Argent Dawn. There's a link to both an Alliance and Horde community on the first page.
I got too many memories, both fond and horrid ones from argent dawn
ever been roped into a worgen rp guild without even knowing it was a furry one? it took me a few weeks before it clicked in my head that something was not right about the way these people talked in GC
it's okay, the alliance argent dawn one is probably free of degenerates
speaking of which, can we direct a mana bomb at goldshire anytime soon? hope you're reading this blizzard
who's writing this shit
And here I thought they were going to be subtle about it. Nope, Sylvanas just straight up burns the tree.
I can't express into words how much I despise this character. Every time she shows up, she manages to become even more despicable.
God she really is the worst. At least Garrosh did what he did out of a genuine desire to see the Horde rule Azeroth, Sylvanas just feels like she's using it as muscle for her to complete her edgelord mission of "i dunno kill everyone cos im sad I died".
Feels bad being horde right now
Yeah but the horde aren't the bad guys here. Remember there's moral ambiguity at play! For real though, the only way this can be redeemed is if Sylvanas's pact with Helya comes back, or she's allied herself with Azshara for access to deep-sea Azerite. I could understand Azshara burning Teldrassil, but Sylvanas is just retarded. I'd expect no more from Blizzard's writing department, the're horrendously incompetent.
hey do orc npcs still say 'strength and honor' when you click on them? because they should probably drop the second part now.
its okay, those night elves were going to go murder babies anyway
justified genocide
I mean all the forsaken already had a bunch of bitchy pathetic lines like "don't trust the living" which is fucking stupid because that implies they don't trust like 90% of the Horde that they're a part of.
new warbringer make me feel sad
I can't even hate Sylvanas as a character, because she's just being sorta boring. Everything she's doing is really predictable, and everyone is just going along with it "because: video game".
There's a reason people wanted another side to the whole burning the world tree thing, and it's not because they are all fanbois who think their favourite character can do no wrong. It's because that might have actually been interesting lol.
Sure the Horde may be commuting terrible genocide but Anduin took a cookie from the cookie jar after he was told he needed to wait til after dinner, so really it's not like the Horde are the bad guys here
My problem here is that this shit doesn't even seem to make sense.
If Sylvanas has decided to oppose all life then why the fuck are living races following her around lol.
Because the horde respect Sylvanas because Blizzard want them to, unlike Garrosh who did the same shit and got dumped on by everyone.
because christie golden is a fucking tremendously awful writer who deserved to be fired several times over. "oh she just writes the books" bullshit, shes consulted the game team ever since metzen retired. and the books themselves are also turbotrash which affect the lore. so go figure.
id rather get Knaak again.
i'm not sure if this plot is bad per se
but if their intention was to portray "both sides as bad as each other! no good or evil in war, only grey!" then they utterly failed, unless we see alliance airships carpet bombing tauren orphanages or something like that
